Carnelian, please, I need my strength;
Tell goldstone to be here in lengths
And dragon stone will guide me through,
With rose quartz here, for loving you.
My pyrite guides me to the left.
Labradorite leaves my hand, bereft.
And though my quartz is tattered and shattered,
Tell amethyst that it never mattered.
Just let me cry and let me sing--
Just let my heart explode again!
Snowflake obsidian strips me naked.
Strengthening contrasts are so sacred.
I'll put this rose quartz to my disposal,
Gift opalite ring, accept my proposal
And be with me forevermore.
Please, please be mine, forevermore

A letter to my wounds,
fragranced with powdered incense,
every word woven from carnelian ink,
beauty lies in the readers heart,
bruised syllables define nothing,
when everything phrased and vented,
are mere signs of bravery,
flowing in eloquence.
So, see beyond vague verses,
crafted from mystical metaphors,
and sanguine similes,
there streams,
truth of a healing mind,
still bleeding broken ballads,
and soulful sonnets;
same rhythm as the
art of a passionate poet,
pleading to be heard and seen,
amidst silenced skies on gloomy nights,
as this quill desires no accolades nor
condolences but compassion.

You bathe me inside carnelian dreams,
I’m inspired just being in your presence;
Captivated by your outrageous schemes,
surrounded by such a potent essence;
That energy’s become my sustenance;
Stronger than I ever thought I could be
I’ve grown through all of that intensity;
Vitality engulfed me with a moan,
clearing up all the crazy inside me;
Wiped clean by a spiritual monsoon.

Virtuoso
Carnelian dawn reflects red sun rising,
Mirrors glow of vermillion flycatchers,
With scarlet plumage, so mesmerizing,
Dawn’s songbirds – virtuoso stature.
Flight song resounds through the still morning mists,
Woodland thickets embrace the day song,
Artists on wings with bright feathers flame kissed
Warble sweet aves on garnet birdsongs.
Vigil for daybreak in tones cinnabar
Matins’ maestros in morning’s sung prayers,
Amber strains from coquelicot popstars,
Lauds for the Daystar ring through newborn airs.
Cloaked in vermillion at evening's first light,
Songbirds wait to sing in red-orange delight.

Hubble photographed her
in her finest sapphire
and carnelian display;
a wizened sage who’s
gathered knowledge of universes
Orion takes his back seat to her luminosity.
Gowned in her elegant splendor,
Carina’s a nebulous delight,
upon Sagittarius’s Arm
a pageantry of excellence,
as she arrives at the universal ball.

Above quercitron sand.
A solemn sky of navy-gam
Wind's relieved sigh of a day gone by
Hum's hum of dusty dusk
Rust hair fades from view.

We pray for the healing of the family tree
and call upon the Carnelian Angels of soul's confession
that they may minister to our family
We invite the Holy lights into this circle of prayer time
and open our hearts to the karmic energies of life;
Like the Egyptians of old, we entrust our family ties
to the Holiest of Holiest order, the Mystical Cross
Of Jesus ....
We ask for the hourglass of time to bless every member
with the golden sands of compassion, and allow us to
journey safely in this lifetime and the next...
We ask for healing of the mind, body, and spirit
of every member and extend our hearts wishes
towards heavenly ties...
We pray for patience and endurance
as we watch and pray, until dawn arrives to call
us away. We the messengers of love and peace
entrust the Carnelian Angels to do their anointing
with hands of gentle touch, using forbearance and
endless love to all. Amen

Carnelian and crimsons orchestrate eye music
Ornate as orange oboes that blare a fiery woo
Loud in the hills, flaring flutes of maroon thrill,
Oscillating in burgundy trills of a breezy banjo
Red rises in volumes that the silent trees hear,
For they farewell warmth, in sun-setting relief,
Undulating in vermillion wavelengths an adieu,
Lingering long in mellowing yellows, autumnal
Free leaves wind-whorl a gold saxophone-puff
As apples blush in whistles of a taupe wisteria
Looping branches bare-brown in tuned annual
Love-fest festooned in earthen melody eternal

Late,
the morning glories rise
passionate, royal, magenta blooms trumpeting,
helloes and goodbyes;
novice neophytes falling
into lavender blush dream states
succumbing to a mellowed change in weather
cooler days awakened by pale aging sunlight
soft, restless breezes
in the trees shedding leaves;
twilight for the foliage
a lurid golden year half-light dulcet dawns,
scarlet carmine sunsets, waning,
whispering not shouting
carnelian nights humming a lullaby,
serene, euphonious,
clouded eyes struggling to remain awake
buddings small and petite,
placid emollients of day;
shaded out of scathed hunter greens
falling to lemon camboge
limed colored oranges,
harvest time citrus afterbites
commencement to vermillion bleedings
September full blood moon phasings,
in crisp kaleidoscope etchings
of a well-painted palette
sepia rusettes, auburn,
ambered melancholia disturbances;
sanguine shortened days,
arboreal sleep, brittle and dry
les Feuilles Mortes.

Ruby Shopping Trip
I spent my day shopping for rubies
Among the carnelian dewdrops;
Gazing into garnet and golden skies -
Inhaling coral rose scent through raindrops.
I spent my twilight in an andesine sunset;
Fire opals lighting up in constellations;
Twinkling spinels mined from crimson dwarfs;
Star rubies flash smiles in jubilation.
I spent my midnight dreaming of cinnabar -
Visions of chests filled with jewels;
Spellbound - enchanted -wealth unimagined -
Only to find it on nature’s footstool.

White Goddess
by Michael R. Burch
White in the shadows
I see your face,
unbidden. Go, tell
Love it is commonplace;
tell Regret it is not so rare.
Our love is not here
though you smile,
full of sedulous grace.
Lost in darkness, I fear
the past is our resting place.

Picking up the trash
I brush past you.
You say "mind the ice."
Underneath the concern---humor,
a mental picture
of my comic duck-walk.
Half way to the garage
I hear your voice again,
as if your throat
were joined to my belly.
You sing to yourself
as you fix a meal,
I feel your salty gravity
as a carnelian
dipped in my blood.
I carry you back to the kitchen
still singing in my breast.
At the sink,
you wash and kiss my cold fingers
as sotto voce,
you reprise a song from ‘Frozen,’
while stirring hash in a skillet.
