He was a fop, a weirdy cat, a popinjay
foolish, ridiculous, cheeky and brash
we landed on a big secret one day
he can be bought off with a bit of cash
at family events, he annoys others
paid to leave us alone by me and my brothers.
Why isn’t you dad coming around? Asked our mother.
“I have no idea,” lied one of my brothers.
Wielded
like a
loaded gun
His phone
was thrusted
forth
Proof
of what
I knew
was false
Refusing
all
discourse
Armed
with but
an empty
tweet
Chosen
by a
bot
His mind
was trapped
inside a myth
Whose fiction

(Rosemont College: April, 2025)
I bought the world.
Can you see where the merchant likes to sit?
I wanted to buy, that strange thing that pearled.
I offered my heart
but it wasn't enough.
So, I offered my spirit,
for they should never be apart.
But he would not trade for it.
The shady merchant offered me riches in gold.
envy of people, a life that was bold.
"Please look away!"
he said as my gaze fixed on the globe.
but I decided to say
despite the questions he would probe.
I could see deep into the ocean's waves
and smile at the creatures she saves.
the lives that flutter and pass us by
the wings that soar and touch the sky!
I wanted it to be mine!
I offered my breath
I offered my Time
I offered my death!
"Give me a name."
the Merchant requested.
"I have always been the same.
But I want to be something new.
I want to be you."
that is when I knew.
I had been bested.
My name is yours to hold alone.
and then, my words turned to stone.
I traded and won.
now before my life is done
remember the place where oceans waves curled?
In that place and when I was young, I bought the world.
All the fake stunts I pulled, you never bought them,
All the cigarettes I rolled, you never smoked them,
I need a light in my life to illuminate all the darkness,
I need a space to breathe, to heal from the pain that weighs on me.
You and I, when we meet, we surpass all expectations, we lose ourselves in infinity,
Taking too much of everything we love, hurting ourselves in the process,
We fool around in the hotel of broken hearts, never tired of searching for each other,
Always ready to start over, again and again, without stopping.
Always found unconscious at the end, caught in this never-ending phase,
But you, you never bought them, never believed in them,
Girl, you never believed in me, in all these stories,
I wonder if I will ever find the truth in my unspoken lies.
We search for a light to guide us, a refuge amidst the chaos,
We long for a place to breathe, to heal from all that has hurt us,
And yet, in this dance of confusion and desire, we lose ourselves,
But maybe, one day, we will find that balance between illusion and reality.
I traveled to Russia, bought me a horse
When we got home, I had buyer’s remorse
What would I feed it
What does a horse eat
Horse ordered vodka with beet borscht, of course
l bought a classical guitar
a dream l'v always had
l dream't l could go far
but is it just a fad ?
So took my lesson first
while sitting on the bed
they said that is the worse
bad habits in the head.
Not easy as l thought
l dream't ld learn in week
my fingers are too short
and my pinkies far too weak.
l dream't id wow my friends
but its going painfully slow
and torture all it sends
l guess l didnt know.
l dream't it would be easy
but little did l know
and all my songs are cheesy
and music doesnt flow.
It seemed ok at first
Lesson over l happily boast
but dreams are far the worse
for electric one's in the post!
Food thats good i beleive you'll find? raw milk
Not the usual, therm-ed out kind.
Link up with farmers, you can volunteer!!
Supply some spirit, spread more cheer
The bowler hatted farmer knows' his
Onions along with dear old Vobes'
And Brooks no nonsense Chris is in.'
That people power is starting to spin.!
A couple of million will do for starters
You can now show the world..
Who are? the real'
Useless farters.)
she was a woman who did what she ought
with a smile that was a hundred watt
all of her causes were valiantly fought
her integrity cannot be taught
confident since she was a tiny tot
she does not fit in a pigeonhole slot
as unique as any forget-me-knot
a character who is not easily bought
she charms even the weirdest crackpot
always on time to the very last dot
creates delicacies in a magic stew pot
a personality that makes her hot
never wanted to tie a marital knot
a woman who was not ever caught
most men knew they never had a shot
she kept them away with a laugh and a swat
Even during the least happy times in our lives
It is never so unhappy that we should ever lose hope
Whoever said, “Tomorrow is another day”
Had the secret to a happy life
Another is, “Don't sweat the small stuff”
So simple yet so obvious, it make a whole lot of sense
I don't have any secrets or special potions that I take
But after living for almost 9 decades, there are certain things
That make a whole lot of sense and a lot that don't
It's knowing which is which and choosing
The ones that your inner voice tells you
To follow, it makes a hell of lot of sense!
They say with age comes wisdom which is true to a degree
But at any age, it's your inner voice
That should always help you make the right choices
Said I know the guy
who hacked your
account.
The one who put
those things card.
He found out who
and what, and how
He hacked your account.
Said carry this heavy load.
He put outrages tampering
On your account.
Using the critia he been
Taught.
Ordered toys and naughty
Thangs.
Said you bought
we were in Shallotte
far away which is remote
when we bought a boat
we rode down a stream
which did appear in a dream
was rare so would seem
house by bank we bought
with me my wife I had brought
love them both a lot
knew nature was near
bird at window would appear
glad we have been here
was in line of thought
related to what we have bought
in a trap were caught
My mother was a perfectionist.
A seamstress who made all of our clothes
She would look at a dress in a window
Run home and make it but prettier.
I did not have a store-bought dress until I married.
It cost $19.99 and I was askance!
How dare they ask that much!
My husband had to send me back to buy it.
You
talking about our Father?
Did I stutter
You
Talking about Our Father!
Sir,
you
talking about our father?
What! madam madamoselle
You
talking about our Father!
You
made me bring down the latter rains!
Our Father which art in heaven hallowed be thy name!
Thy Kingdom come thy will be done here and now on earth!
as it is in heaven say those words over again for proof!
Excuse me
You talking about Our Father!
Mama bought a cat
If you are privileged call it a pet
Ours is a guardian angel, protecting our grains from rats??
