Blueberry delight in discs
of golden brown. Each
bite, berry delight. Smothered
in melted butter
and maple syrup.
Taste summer
bliss.

I want to be fuchsia free of
Indigo inhibition
Not so much that I silver sin
But that I am emerald easygoing
I want to walk whimsically
Like purple peacocks along
My destined path and lavender laugh
To have hazel happiness
I want to be such a sandy soul
That others sink into my peace
And ruby receive blueberry blessings
Of love light and purest energy
I want to grow such a halo
Around my heart that God
Is pleased and He anoints me
In my wildest dreams I’d be the best me

Her silhouette is draped in soft moonlight
While an unseen sorrow cloaks her eyes
With traces of a light lavender mist
Hidden under dark blueberry skies
She's oblivious to the lightning's dance
Deaf to the sound of distant thunder
As this cold blueberry sky bears witness
To another heart torn asunder

Indigo ink dreams
Dripping from heart
Tattoos tongue with kinetic kiss
Green electric buzz like sip
Of fine blueberry wine so sweet
Dreamy turquoise love touch
Filling me up with red desire
On fire for your romantic antic
Sweeping me off my feet
Carrying me with ease
Of a blue breeze to deserted love island
Where tan sands caress like brown hands
White waters flow warm and toasty
Fast slow then in closing cold
Never let go of this love
For it floats like a boat

My love tastes like strawberry wine
He is made from fruit of my mind
I prayed for his chocolate divine
Kisses so engaging one loses time
My love smells like frosted rain
Dripping intoxicating like pink champagne
I could never leave you I am trained
To be loyal and true to your gain
My love feels like silky cashmere
Warm and charmed beige no fear
Disarming you as you hold me near
Alarming a heart that the one is here
Blueberry breath upon my neck
Making me so satin soft and wet
Blackberry touches stain my dress
Fruits of love oh so blessed

Can't stay gloomy
Or think looney
Because the outcome will be puny
It's nothing new to be
All this tomfoolery
Won't ever be cool to me
The same can be said for obsessing over jewelry
Or boards of Charcuterie
Been doing it differently and beautifully
Not the same as when you went to school with me
You're still soft and quick to turn rotten like a blueberry
I would've gone for it, but you never wanted unity
Meanwhile continual scrutiny
And lunacy
As well as an occasional mutiny
If I'm speaking truthfully
Before it's my eulogy
I got to do it with ingenuity
Relatable
Likable yet hateable
No need to be debatable
Don't you quit
I don't got all the answers or blueprints
Still going through it
Working toward true grit
Watching out for any new tricks
Does no good to stay clueless
And always foolish
Otherwise you'll lose quick
Regardless of if you are a Buddhist
Time has shown and proved this

With childish excitement we walked up the hill
Inhaling the freshness, experienced the thrill
Of blueberry picking, first handful to taste,
The rest in our baskets were zealously placed.
That scene is now faded and all that remains
Is wistful nostalgia that flows through the veins.

Give me blueberry pancakes any day of the week
I love how soft and fluffy they are at their peak
Give me delicious fruity cakes any day of the week
A little sugar coating to make them sweet
Or a simple pat of butter to melt as they steam
And a pile of chocolate chips to sit underneath
Give me blueberry pancakes any day of the week
I love how soft and fluffy they are at their peak
Give me delicious fruity cakes any day of the week
Syrup is a common thing to share with this fav
So hit me with a shot of that natural brown haze
Let’s find something sweet to curb my sugar craves
Give me blueberry pancakes any day of the week
I love how soft and fluffy they are at their peak
Give me delicious fruity cakes any day of the week
I used to think they were just a Sunday treat
But now that I’ve decided that they are so neat
I’d eat some blueberry pancakes every day of the week!
Give me blueberry pancakes any day of the week
I love how soft and fluffy they are at their peak
Give me delicious fruity cakes any day of the week
*And if there’s no syrup then I’ll take the brown sugar please

Jodi felt the wind puff up her skirt
And float her down the hill, gently
Placing her upon a giant
Mushroom, waiting for just such
A breeze. Aloft, the spores fly
Everywhere, planting themselves,
Preparing for a future takeover
Of the world, once they too
Have grown. Jodi hopped off
The cap and ran through the
Celery fields hoping to find
someone to tie her shoe,
But no one was there. They
Had all gone vegetarian, eating
Their way through the mushroom
Forest, trying to find dip.
They instead found butter
Which is just what Jodi
Needed to finish her
Muffins up on the mountain.
Written for a creative writing class in 1990.

He gives me blueberry kisses
Soft puckered mocha lips
Can't take his eyes off my hips
He gives me blueberry kisses
Greased up in shea butter
Can't keep his mind out the gutter
He gives me blueberry kisses
Beard trimmed, soft and taught
Can't not stop thinking a naughty thought
He gives me blueberry kisses
Subtle hints of sandalwood floating off his neck
Can't help placing on my lips a sweet gentle peck
He gives me blueberry kisses

Blueberry Tree
I buried a blueberry,
Just to see,
If it would grow
To a blueberry tree.
So round and so sweet
Coats of deep blue
Just a few seeds -
Who knew?
But all that grew -
A scrawny shrub;
All leaves - no blueberries -
That was the rub.
So, I buried more blueberries
Just to see
If they would grow
My blueberry tree.
Planted them carefully
Next to a wall;
Watered them daily
Hoped they would be tall.
But, up came more shrubs -
A-ha! with blossoms;
Turning to blueberries.
So awesome!
No blueberry tree.
No surprise!
But my lips just turned purple
From blueberry pie!

Why am I not getting itchy
Why's my adrenaline not twitchy
By now I should be quite antsy
To go somewhere dressed up all fancy
I sense others are worried and nervous
While I seem to be utterly impervious
A friend attended a drive-in movie show
I wished him luck -- six feet below...
Alas, the world has passed me by
As I enjoy a slice of blueberry pie
