Blueberry Tree
Blueberry Tree
I buried a blueberry,
Just to see,
If it would grow
To a blueberry tree.
So round and so sweet
Coats of deep blue
Just a few seeds -
Who knew?
But all that grew -
A scrawny shrub;
All leaves - no blueberries -
That was the rub.
So, I buried more blueberries
Just to see
If they would grow
My blueberry tree.
Planted them carefully
Next to a wall;
Watered them daily
Hoped they would be tall.
But, up came more shrubs -
A-ha! with blossoms;
Turning to blueberries.
So awesome!
No blueberry tree.
No surprise!
But my lips just turned purple
From blueberry pie!
