Like a storm in a teacup

Like a storm in a teacup, You turned nothing
into something blown up, from a small thing.
Everywhere's your ground to pick up a fight.
You should know war is not won by might
But by great strategy and clear planning
not just by being pretty and enchanting.
Stop just being a mere trouble maker.
Rather, try being an active parttaker
Who is ready for a positive change.
Even when done in ways strange.
Your real worth still no way lost.
Nothing much will be the cost,
Still, no day pass you don't doubt yourself.
Yet you've all it takes, there on your shelf.

Premium MemberCowardly Buffoon

He is a cowardly buffoon
Less cowboy than poltroon
Cringes in fear at the moon
Afraid of bubbly lagoon

Doesn’t make anyone swoon
Terrified of a small raccoon
Shrieks and hides from a blown-up balloon
A forever alone weird little goon

Stella's response

i am nineteen now
and a fully blown up woman,
worn out, tired and terrified of life

my heart is burning with hate
for my breasts are fallen
by the will of monstrous men

i am a fully blown up woman
cause since the age of twelve
blood has been running between my thighs

can you see this rage in my eyes
and the big hell fire in my heart –

freedom

freedom coursing through my veins.
body no longer feeling uptight but airy.
being blown up like a balloon.
helium has replaced my wounds.
freedom feels scary
when my yesterdays felt like a constant rope
tied around my body
getting a little tighter
each & every day.
enjoyment & play are here to stay.
no more hiding
in the underneath stairs cupboard.
now it is time to be free & play!

Looking at you now

It's been quite a while,
but that's not uncommon for us,
glancing back at the past with
a kiss blown up above,
What do we have left?
as I see you for the first time in the flesh,
speaking as if we're neighbours
bumping into each other or
just strangers passing in the street,
What have we become?
Is this what waving the white flag is?
a way of admitting defeat?
maybe it's karma,
maybe it's the way it's supposed to be,
even if we still don't understand,
maybe we never will fully,
I'd give anything & everything,
just to be back there for a second,
but I know that's not possible,
so, this is me looking at you now,
still trying to take in who you are
staring right at me,
if only we knew then,
all that would be lost along the way,
maybe, just maybe we would've
put more energy into just being happy.

Russia's done it again
This time they've blown up a dam
  Flood waters cover the land

  Farmers' livelihoods wiped out
    Stranded Ukrainians shout --
Help! as the 'civilized world' checks out

Elusive Man Is Slippery Fish

It was in Argentina
That Bull met Clementina:
The same year dumped Tina,
Who’d thought herself A Winner’
And was planning “A Dinner”
In Hotel De Cortina…

Clementina was in Fridge
And still Bull left for Cambridge:
Escape from Blown-Up Bridge?
The Much Elusive Partridge
Outwitting traps in farms ridge…

Bull was to meet a Rita
In far flung Costa Rica
Over her fought Strong Douglas
And just shattered him like glass!
Confirmed Green Snake, in Green Grass:
Rita had guessed not it’d pass!

Two Islands and Dynamite

two islands and dynamite

There are two islands in the stream, one is big
and called the new island the other is small and
called the old island, the pair is linked to a bridge.
I crossed the bond to see my girlfriend, who lived
on the old island, in a shack, all houses were shacks
the fishermen lived there in suitable poverty.
I knocked on the door that cracked, letting out
a light which was good, the steps to the house were
made off rough unfriendly stones.
Her mother opened I didn’t like her smelling of beer
she had three teeth left and spoke like a whistle.
She hated me for being a cook at a tourist hotel
work she thought was for skulkers men with soft
hands incapable to do a proper job, like fishing
mackerel for a living.
She has gone with her new boyfriend on his boat
he is a skipper, to Denmark, and with that,
she slammed the door shut.
On the news, a bridge crossing Crimea to Russia
has been blown up; when I crossed the bridge to get
to the new island, I thought of doing something
in that vein, but having no knowledge of dynamite
I let it pass.

Blown Up In Afghanistan

There are some things I just don't get
And never understand
Six more dead from Yorkshire's moors
Blown up in Afghanistan.

The war on terror can't be won
How can we be so blind
Can't we see that we can't win
Without changing hearts and minds ?.

Whatever belief you declare
How are these your pranks
You blow up boys in uniform
Then you give God thanks !.

Note : 6 men (5 were younger than 22 years old) were targeted & blown up by the Taliban. All were from Yorkshire. When is it gonna stop?

Premium MemberThe Black Hole

The lost Galaxy formed,
In the enigma of the black hole.
A portal is simply a vacuum,
Thrusting primitive, unknown and,
Simple life forms into,
Another dimension.
The transformation of these entity's,
Can be extremely dangerous when,
Mixed with these unknown variables,
Into these dimensions.
Blown up stars and planets mixed,
With inevitable theories can,
Cause the mysteries ongoing search.

Premium MemberMy Thoughtful Neighbors Adore the 4th

My neighbors have been celebrating 4th of July for a week.
It has finally arrived today. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom.
I think these patriots take time to nap between 11 and 2 every day.
They have tossed cherry bombs into our dumpster.
They have blown up our mailbox.

What marvelous festivities for them!
It gave us a chance to see how worthless our grayscale video is.
We saw one flag decorated guy get out of his car to do these deeds.
But we could not identify the car or the guy.
Unless he wore the same t-shirt
And no one else had one.

Bam Bam Bam Bam Bam
Our dogs and cat are hiding behind us in our recliners.
Their ears hurt.
I can only imagine how men and women servicemen are doing.
Especially if they have PTSD.
Does anyone ever consider them during these 4th of July celebrations?
Apparently not.

Ignore and Out the Door

when we would ignore
not see around anymore
had gone out the door

below and under
were worse off than each other
fire out smother

once was the life blood
killed our flowers and each bud
body bags went thud

much trouble and strain
bodies blown up and blood stain
in Ukraine did remain

either will amend
or we did have to rescind
is what we intend

started bright new dawn
are building on White House lawn
huge crowd they had drawn

These are my latest Horn Haiku.

Ashes In a Cage

There's a fire burning
Have you not yet heard?
Rumor has it a woman
Finally found her nerve

She doused her home immensely
In gasoline before striking a match
The flames devoured it all
From that life she's now detached

See, the fire was all but catching
Before a single soul could see
Her home had long been smoking
When she began choosing not to breathe

Her home built on a foundation
Has turned to smouldering ash
Her life blown-up around her
For nothing was left to be re-hashed

With fire comes a cleansing
Let everything burn except what's pure
A match although so tiny
Engulfed the life she once endured

There's a fire burning
Have you not yet heard?
Only drenched in water, Holy
Could these flames be overcome

There's a fire burning
Take note of what could be
When you cage a warrior's spirit
She'll burn the world to be set free

Premium MemberHelicopter Logic

Over the past two weeks
I've seen people held against their will
heard their desperate cries to be rescued
watched them be shut up-beaten up- blown up
I've watched them plummet from the undercarriage of a rescue plane..
and just today, i watched two men-ropes around necks
dangling lifeless below the bottom of a helicopter

Over the past two weeks
i saw millions of people
go from taking small sips of freedom
for the past twenty Years
to gulping down terror by the bucket full...
but the most disturbing thing
is that despite all the heartache- humiliation-
misery rape and death..
there is still one man on this planet
who thinks that the whole damn thing was a smashing success...
and he can't remember why.

Premium MemberA Foul Mood

I am pulled apart by my crazed emotions
Half blown up and backwards
My desperation and depression is tied in a knot
And there is only one working hand left
Indignation took the other one years ago
I am frustrated now because I can no longer clap for you

My mood is foul
I revel in the stench of mediocrity
I feel notoriously lopsided and naked
Exposed, anxious, a laughing stock.
I have to say this now....
I hate all of you!
Which side should I share?
No side at all. I will keep myself to myself.

I am in a foul mood, angry and saddened.
Yes, you put me here. I take no blame for
my attitude, my feelings or my persona.

Look at yourself closely, oh, masses
You show me magazines
To prove my neck is too thick for my small head.

You are thorns, mongrel dogs, baddies.
I hate all of you. Every single last one.
You know who you are.
