The Vietnam War was on the news when I was in high school
The ones who got sent over to be fodder were from poor counties
Sons of congressmen and senators were not drafted
But other men were readily plucked up and sent over
To morbidly hot jungles full of mosquitos and the enemy
More got blown up or killed than came home intact
If they went over as an officer, they were killed by their own men
Usually in eight minutes
Why? Because if there is no officer to lead, you do not have to fight
Many of these young men were not fighters, they did not want to be soldiers
They had been involuntarily drafted, with little training
If they lasted one year, they could return. Most did not make it.
A girl's tears; at their value
Boys can only scoff.
That mean their laughter. Who now
With turned heads walk off.
From out a rill its spirit
Blown up reed grass pleads
Whose own mushy blubber-trend
Into her's does flow
To scoop those pearls of sorrow;
Til ma intercedes.
Ash; that enlivens
The subject of death.
Kicked, blown up, child, wind - by us!
And how frivolous!
Ash; autumn-leaved.
By what you'd think is
An irreverence, does see one
Age-smiled, nothing wrong.
Love, they say has many a cloudy nomenclature
Lang of metaphors and figures of virtual stature;
Those who resort to it live in the wild cavern
Of blown up false images and chronic concern;
An enigma that makes one go out of oneself!
Romeo and Juliet have left behind the Mawn--
Tall claims and a bright aura around Eros's crown
Have not many been tossed and whirled across
The endless yards of the illusion pursuing dross,
Leaving the chaser sapless , febrile and thirsty..?
Who is wiser :Narcissus who loved himself more
Or Echo who killed herself to dote and adore..?
Strangely, the height and depth of fond limerence
Has no meter or measure to gauge its reverence;
May true intent prevail ,aye over the strong urge !
On the Rock River he was a lifeguard,
Saved 70 plus lives, which made him proud, happy too
Later in life he was divorced, even shot, life is hard
Then Alzheimer's got him, no way to rescue.
He saved lives before he learned to lead them
He was governor, president, now it’s all a blur
How many of our youth remember Ronald Reagan
Alzheimer’s of a generation can also occur.
Sending Marines into Lebanon was his biggest mistake
240 blown up by explosives in a truck
Responsibility's risk is in what you can break
There was nowhere else to pass the buck.
Reagan heart was in the right place
of good reforms he did plenty
He did his best, but if only he knew
In the fog only hindsight is 20/20.
Like a storm in a teacup, You turned nothing
into something blown up, from a small thing.
Everywhere's your ground to pick up a fight.
You should know war is not won by might
But by great strategy and clear planning
not just by being pretty and enchanting.
Stop just being a mere trouble maker.
Rather, try being an active parttaker
Who is ready for a positive change.
Even when done in ways strange.
Your real worth still no way lost.
Nothing much will be the cost,
Still, no day pass you don't doubt yourself.
Yet you've all it takes, there on your shelf.
He is a cowardly buffoon
Less cowboy than poltroon
Cringes in fear at the moon
Afraid of bubbly lagoon
Doesn’t make anyone swoon
Terrified of a small raccoon
Shrieks and hides from a blown-up balloon
A forever alone weird little goon
i am nineteen now
and a fully blown up woman,
worn out, tired and terrified of life
my heart is burning with hate
for my breasts are fallen
by the will of monstrous men
i am a fully blown up woman
cause since the age of twelve
blood has been running between my thighs
can you see this rage in my eyes
and the big hell fire in my heart –
freedom coursing through my veins.
body no longer feeling uptight but airy.
being blown up like a balloon.
helium has replaced my wounds.
freedom feels scary
when my yesterdays felt like a constant rope
tied around my body
getting a little tighter
each & every day.
enjoyment & play are here to stay.
no more hiding
in the underneath stairs cupboard.
now it is time to be free & play!
It's been quite a while,
but that's not uncommon for us,
glancing back at the past with
a kiss blown up above,
What do we have left?
as I see you for the first time in the flesh,
speaking as if we're neighbours
bumping into each other or
just strangers passing in the street,
What have we become?
Is this what waving the white flag is?
a way of admitting defeat?
maybe it's karma,
maybe it's the way it's supposed to be,
even if we still don't understand,
maybe we never will fully,
I'd give anything & everything,
just to be back there for a second,
but I know that's not possible,
so, this is me looking at you now,
still trying to take in who you are
staring right at me,
if only we knew then,
all that would be lost along the way,
maybe, just maybe we would've
put more energy into just being happy.
Russia's done it again
This time they've blown up a dam
Flood waters cover the land
Farmers' livelihoods wiped out
Stranded Ukrainians shout --
Help! as the 'civilized world' checks out
It was in Argentina
That Bull met Clementina:
The same year dumped Tina,
Who’d thought herself A Winner’
And was planning “A Dinner”
In Hotel De Cortina…
Clementina was in Fridge
And still Bull left for Cambridge:
Escape from Blown-Up Bridge?
The Much Elusive Partridge
Outwitting traps in farms ridge…
Bull was to meet a Rita
In far flung Costa Rica
Over her fought Strong Douglas
And just shattered him like glass!
Confirmed Green Snake, in Green Grass:
Rita had guessed not it’d pass!
two islands and dynamite
There are two islands in the stream, one is big
and called the new island the other is small and
called the old island, the pair is linked to a bridge.
I crossed the bond to see my girlfriend, who lived
on the old island, in a shack, all houses were shacks
the fishermen lived there in suitable poverty.
I knocked on the door that cracked, letting out
a light which was good, the steps to the house were
made off rough unfriendly stones.
Her mother opened I didn’t like her smelling of beer
she had three teeth left and spoke like a whistle.
She hated me for being a cook at a tourist hotel
work she thought was for skulkers men with soft
hands incapable to do a proper job, like fishing
mackerel for a living.
She has gone with her new boyfriend on his boat
he is a skipper, to Denmark, and with that,
she slammed the door shut.
On the news, a bridge crossing Crimea to Russia
has been blown up; when I crossed the bridge to get
to the new island, I thought of doing something
in that vein, but having no knowledge of dynamite
I let it pass.
There are some things I just don't get
And never understand
Six more dead from Yorkshire's moors
Blown up in Afghanistan.
The war on terror can't be won
How can we be so blind
Can't we see that we can't win
Without changing hearts and minds ?.
Whatever belief you declare
How are these your pranks
You blow up boys in uniform
Then you give God thanks !.
Note : 6 men (5 were younger than 22 years old) were targeted & blown up by the Taliban. All were from Yorkshire. When is it gonna stop?
The lost Galaxy formed,
In the enigma of the black hole.
A portal is simply a vacuum,
Thrusting primitive, unknown and,
Simple life forms into,
Another dimension.
The transformation of these entity's,
Can be extremely dangerous when,
Mixed with these unknown variables,
Into these dimensions.
Blown up stars and planets mixed,
With inevitable theories can,
Cause the mysteries ongoing search.
