seeking
distilling life
into lines
I'm here
I'm gone
I sure a/f
am
more
than moments
and memories
flesh
and blood
I made
flesh
and blood
made me
the dent
that dents
forever
your cat
your dog
the fly
molesting you
until
the big wheel
turns
it won't be
a house in the Keys
with
six toed cats
but
music
and poetry
lots of
poetry

Sometimes I could just scream out loud
For we don't stand out in a crowd
I guess to some we look the same
We have no face, we have no name
It's hard to say just how we feel
As a small cog in a big wheel
So much that cannot be explained
So easily we are contained
And there are those so far from here
That stand above, that are revered
They toss the coin then write the rules
And pass the pages to the fools
Obedience is never asked
And authors are ever masked
It's been this way since time began
There'll be no changes to this plan
So here we stand within our frame
I often think we are the same
From diff'rent worlds, diff'rent times
With diff'rent outlooks, diff'rent minds
It might not come down to one's worth
Rather the station at their birth
No matter the path that is run
We're the same when it's all said and done

You thought you were a big wheel in a big town
But your just a small wheel in a small town
We just keep rolling along when you're not around
Please put your right foot forward
Think of how easy it is now when you can believe it is just white wash
When you finally discover how amazing life is with time now as a certain enemy
With all the Kings Horses
All the Kings men
Gathered together to put our World back together again
Our glory is the difference we made
What is survival seems to deal
Causes riffs in the fabric of God
As time has passed me by
By another stop sign
This one keeps me stopped for 6 or 7 years
I sent Angels and Cherubs.to do your devine temple
What happens happens especially in Los Vegas
I am tortured from the beliefs of others
Iam tortured because of my beliefs
Tradition a tactic of the immortals
How many people have listened to the Angels or denied a freedom which has no price no promise
One day there will be no moral judgements
Good will be bad
Bad will be good

Give peace a chance
To sit at the table
It’s worth the gamble
And is most able
To win a few hands
Or spin the big wheel
Give peace a chance to
Get in on the deal
Give peace a chance
It has better odds
Than a war waging
‘Tween wanna-be-gods
We know peace can have
At least nine in ten
Chances of winning
Versus fighting men
Give peace a chance
It’s in the cards
When warmongers fold
Give them best regards
No matter the score
Peace won’t be bluffing
And then it will win
Double or nothing.

Tina Turner was the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll
She earned her dues for music's cause
On stage she played her regal role
Belting out tunes to thunderous applause
With hits like "Proud Mary"
She had fans screaming in the aisles
As the big wheel kept turning on the ferry
On a musical journey of many miles
She had some rough times with Ike
But eventually she took freedom's flight
Her song, "I Don't Wanna Fight,
Summed up her feelings on the mic
Her song, "Whats Love Got To Do With It"
Described those times well
Yet she blazed a musical trail that was well lit
In her songs her memory will dwell

picking dead flowers from grandma's garden
still stuck in the past
i make a wilted wish
i want to halt life and give it a push
i know, however, that i cannot have it both ways
so i count and hide
so i hide and count
picking dead flowers from grandma's garden
still stuck in the past
i make a wilted wish
i want to paint everything the good old soft colors
i know, however, that i have no control over the mixing of the textures
so i breathe and wait
so i wait and breathe
picking dead flowers from grandma's garden
still stuck in the past
i make a wilted wish
i want to construct a time machine out of my old big wheel
i know, however, that no type of architecture or carpentry will constipate forward movement
so i walk and look bewildered
so i look bewildered and walk

The White House is our nation's grinder
With Donald Trump our main fault finder
To prove he's a man
He fires those he can
And then claims he could not be kinder

God Is Change
And the big wheel
dramatically turns
leaving that which was
recently at the top
sliding gracefully to the bottom
and what was once an
awesome potential future
now becomes a faded
sepia memory of the past
what last week
had a vibrant beating heart
evolves, face dancing
Changing
wiggling into a
new vessel to mold shape
how resilient this human spirit
that rebirths itself
with each click
of the turning wheel
saying in a proud voice
that God is change and
those who stand in belief
must be ready in a moment
To adjust
What was
To a new and different
What is
and know that through
all the gut-wrenching
retooling of self
Everything is always
As it should be…

Rain has a dancing feel
It brings me night crawlers
Who swivel around on warm pavement
Creeping out the weak
Delighting me
Rain has her own barometer
Measuring my happiness
Am I going to smack those mud puddles with pure joy
Or am I going to moan and groan as my car slides around?
I usually chose the mud puddles.
Rain smiles at this.
Rain keeps me young.
Others get out their umbrellas.
I stand under a tree, daring lightning to get me
Laughing when my hair is all wet, sticking out in worse directions.
Nothing makes me more real than rain.
Rain delights my grandchildren.
They run in it, jump in it
Their Big Wheel bicycle tires slip and slide on it.
They are reckless, and enthusiastic,
And when we are finished, we run in to have cookies
And listen to the marvelous sounds of God bowling.

The Mushroom Party
Placed an embargo
On Chinese goods
To Mar-a-Largo
It seems that some urns
Were not stuffed with money
Did Kim Jong Un
Pull something funny?
The Donald, of course,
Was not not amused
A star of TV
Should not be abused!
So Rocket Man
Fired off a tweet
"Meat me for lunch"
Which Donald thought, "Sweet"
They both shared a tart
At Great Ego Hall
Then zip-lined to Stormy's
To watch curtains fall
Ivanka's urns
Are now filled with Won
So North Korea
Can blast off at dawn
Two heads together
With la-di-da spiel
Keep our world spinning
When Trump's the Big Wheel

Hey, little man ...
yeah, you with the big head
Napoleonic complexion
got your face turning so red
People say you got a big mouth,
that you talk a real giant-size game
But my homies say, you’re a shrimp baller,
whose short of stature with a light frame
And if things don’t bounce your way,
you just simply squawk and squeal
Little piggies tend to oink a lot,
when bacon is gonna be the next meal
Big Mac
Big Wheel
Big Boy
Marketers don’t do small,
Munchkins can’t sell tall
Little man are you listening ...
yeah, you with the big feet
Come get your feelings stepped on,
Mama Smurf is sitting in your seat
Hey, little man ...
when will you get your proper respect?
Butt of another joke again,
big laughs is ‘bout as large as you gon get

The Eighties Edge
Life today is nothing but “No” “No.”
“No this”, “No that” wherever you may go.
The sign says, "This campus is smoke free."
Who owns the very sky and air we breathe?
Consider things around back in the Eighties,
big wheel trikes and shoulder padded ladies.
We walked on planes like going to the store.
Now you bare your naked feet on the cold floor.
The media shows the many signs of change.
Doctors smoking at St.Elsewhere's now deranged.
Can we stop and count up all the added rules
that no longer give us options free to choose?
The Eighties bring a twinkle to the eye
as we think on carefree years and softly sigh.
