I waited for you to kiss me
So your love could set me free
Sadly you were concerned by looks
Nightmares aren’t only in books
Sure it is true that I am green
Inner strength isn’t easily seen
So my dear I am still a frog
On a lily pad in the fog
A Prince trapped for eternity
You Princess did not set me free
I would settle for just a hug
Instead I’m dining on a bug
Today I hop along my way
You married no reason to stay
A toad you chose that’s so absurd
Better looking that’s what I heard.

Inspired by the YouTube’s videos
I watch the aging actors’ faces
Part of my youth, of there and then
The ruthless time erases traces
To waypoint stops, us younger when
So pensive, humbling and revealing
The glory past and fame archived
Age catches up, ain’t no concealing
And none of it can be revived
Those shows - naïve, addicting, funny
Or maybe serious and sad
The days one hasn’t had much money
Yet better-looking, girl or lad
The stunning beauties, macho fellas
They shined so brightly on the screens
We watched them, feeling slightly jealous
Uncrowned princes, lords and queens
Time has no mercy, twisting faces
And gruesome copies all is left
It slowly goes through the paces
Keeps us uneasy and bereft
Why do the actors age so oddly?
Me? I’m the same as ever been
To perish thought, dismissing broadly
The glaring truth, which isn’t sin
We gaze, but what’s the image here?
Not them. It’s us, the way we were
If you’re a woman – shed a tear
If you’re a man – go feel a stir

I’m once again in a block
Nothing to do with political shock
That was not such a surprise
As USA has evil influence and lies
No for me it’s a lack of passion
I’m becoming more old fashioned
Bored with the new stuff of the day
Finding comfort in familiar place
Is it better looking back than ahead
Do we misrepresent fact in head
When a butterfly has fallen from grace
Is it not still beautiful in its own way
So happy hearts learn to adapt
To hear the lark ignore the crap
To lift your heart up towards light
To walk by faith not by sight
I’m uninspired but still at peace
For even broken clocks tell time you see
My inner clock knows time is a short
Not all have time but all need the lord

I want a baby Grinch doll Melody said.
Her grandmother had no idea it was so ugly.
She went online and tried to find a better looking one.
She qualified it “does it have a green face?”
Melody nodded. “and striped pajamas.”
Grandma was shocked because it was so hideous.
Then she watched the new Grinch movie.
She ended up buying two.

It’s a Saturday afternoon worth waiting for. It’s 52°f and the sky is clear except for a scattering of popcorn clouds. I’m eating lunch with Sophy, Lisa, Anna (my roommates) and Peter (a friend) at one of the two residential dining halls that have the best pizza (yeah, you KNOW who you are).
We’re touching base before we scatter, shrapnel like, for the night. I’ll be hemmed-up by circumstance and in my most diligent work-mode. I have a presentation due Monday.
Sophy says, reading from at her laptop, “Research suggests that cat owners are seen as better looking and have more sex.”
“I have two cats,” I say, “at home.” I preen in my double-catness.
“I’m a cat owner!” Anna announces.
“My cat DIED.” Lisa reveals sadly.
“THAT cat did its JOB,” Sophy pronounced saliently, as if proof for the study.
“I grew up in a cat house,” Peter says.
“Ooo! YOU must have learned a LOT!” I say, batting my eyes seductively.
“Maybe we should get a cat HERE!” Sophy suggests.
“To cement our status!” Anna laughs.
The pizza was really good.

Movie stars are no longer the richest
Sports stars outearn them all I attest
By millions of bucks
But here's the crux
Movie stars are better looking I suggest

Your breath could move mountains
The Himalayas used to be in France
Are you pregnant my sweet young filly
Or is that a watermelon in your pants
I've seen better legs on an orangutang
Nothing personal don't take offence
Turn your head sideways for a moment
Wow! Your nose is quite immense
Now about that patch of hair on your face
Was that from some childhood disease
Your shoes must have to be specially made
Bet you can walk on the Sea of Galilee
Your eyes are like deep cesspools
Your lips remind me of a rubber dinghy
But aside from all these strange features
You're better looking than my friend Jimmy

To all those with wealth out there,
Who are considering which charity is the best fit this year,
Here is an idea,
Could sponsoring a job be fairer.
Just think how much more your money could achieve there,
And how much better looking the economy would appear,
With less children in care,
And less people living in fear
With few idle hands in the neighbourhood to at your door stare.
Gambling too might in decline appear,
Alcohol producing less harm everywhere,
And opportunities to commit fraud no longer an easy affair,
With more people to oversee what they do there.
It is just a thought I thought you might like to hear,
That much fruit could bear,
If you could see your way clear,
To think outside the square.

The pictures on the wall are kind of crooked.
The mem’ries in my head, starting to fade.
That guy there in the frame was better looking.
The mirror shows what passing time has made.
Each moment going by is lost forever.
Each day that passes brings with it more gray.
Every “someday” morphs into a “never.”
Every youthful dream given away.
Those pictures, well, they’re all kind of misleading:
A moment frozen, nothing more or less.
The hairline, like the mem’ry is receding.
Makes my mental image quite a mess.
But every moment we have should be treasured.
And each day is much more precious than gold.
The true worth of a life cannot be measured
And a spirit young-at-heart will not grow old.
Those pictures on the wall will not get clearer.
Just one more in the trove of memories.
So I’ll just quit my gazing in the mirror
And try to ponder greater mysteries.
For though I’m growing thicker in the middle
And thinner on the top as days pass by,
I’ll one day find the answer to the riddle
That plagues us as we slowly age: why?

I get scared
That my friends
And my boyfriends
Will give up on me
Will realize that there are better people out there
More interesting
Better looking
Less emotional
People who may have more to offer than me
I fear they will get bored
And leave me in there past
Move on and leave me to wonder what's wrong with me
What was wrong with us
It's happened before
And I don't know what happened then
I just know that it hurt
Especially when they start to spread rumors
I hope they won't abandon me
But I can't help but feel that they will
And I will be the one to blame.

A better looking man
A man of my dreams
My night shining armor
The king of my heart
You are perfectly made
Beyond my bored standards
Everyone’s ideal man
Just like the way you are
Your pure innocence
Dreamy brown eyes
The man I’ve been waiting
Right here with me
I was alone all the time
But you give light to my torch
Love unveils me
I hold on to you
My forevermore
Let me enter your kingdom
Just like how you see mine
I’d like to know you more
More than your body
But your immortalized soul
Be my man of my dreams
My king of my heart
Let’s make love real
Because it’s you and me
Till eternity

I do fancy distant journey.
London, perhaps Paris, Turkey.
Be with me and share this whimsy.
Let's fly best way.
Day comes early so pack quickly.
Bird waits, what say?
Reservation, vaccination,
passport needed I should mention.
Cogitation, hesitation?
More time, one week?
Complication, explanation.
Release do seek!
We'll swing, tripping light fantastic.
By dude's side, a really fine chick!
Green skirt, jacket ivory cambric.
On plane, for me.
No one's better looking, you'll click
big time; let's see!

Poison the water supply
And infect the crops with pesticides
Everyone dies
Doesn't matter if you smoke
Or liquor drink
Diet on sugar or fatty food
The healthy die like every other
Person who has lived a life of excess
They just leave a better looking carcass
And cleaner organ's
If they chose to donate

Battle Scarred Card
Saw battle scared card which had been barred
Entering America and voting does seem so hard
Number crossing is small like a tiny thimble
And of poverty is becoming a great symbol.
Walls were assembled where names were etched
Number coming to America again was stretched
So we could prevent crime and urban sprawl
With warped sense of humor said build a wall.
Mexican leader Trump he endures and endures
And said his wife is better looking than yours
We knew Trump's deck was not fully loaded
You should see his hair orange and corroded.
Jim Horn
No telling where all of this will end up going
And have heard that up people are throwing.
