Frog in the Fog

I waited for you to kiss me So your love could set me free Sadly you were concerned by looks Nightmares aren’t only in books Sure it is true that I am green Inner strength isn’t easily seen So my dear I am still a frog On a lily pad in the fog A Prince trapped for eternity You Princess did not set me free I would settle for just a hug Instead I’m dining on a bug Today I hop along my way You married no reason to stay A toad you chose that’s so absurd Better looking that’s what I heard. “The Double Swap Contest” hosted by Joseph May

Richard, there’s no need to worry any more. She got her just desserts. It takes a long time for some to appreciate inner beauty. A fun poem that takes quite a leap. Smiles!!

Oh my, poor frog. I don't know if I should grin or feel sad for the frog. The princess should know that looks can be deceiving. Brilliantly written! I really enjoyed this! Very well written!

Enjoyed the read very much Richard. A frog may love you, then jump away fast, but a toad will stay with you as long as life lasts… Beryl

She probably took off with a cane toad. They're big boys. Cute poem

Hello Richard, This one had me grinning and nodding along for you managed to give that classic fairy tale a wonderfully witty twist! The rhyme and rhythm skip as playfully as the frog on his lily pad. There’s a real charm to the frog’s acceptance as he hops along, still a little wistful but not defeated. It’s clever, bittersweet, and totally relatable who hasn’t felt like the odd one out? I’ll gladly sit on the next lily pad to listen! Summer Blessings, My Friend Daniel
