Best You And Me Poems

Your Favorite Song - You and Me

Oh that’s you and me

“You and me were always with each other,
before we knew the other was ever there”

Destiny carves its path through lives,
filling needs unknown until it happens
Bridging gaps of empty terrain
where love belongs eventually
as our hearts wait for that one we feel
on the journey

“You and me we belong together,
just like a breath needs the air”

So many comparisons play,
moving pieces to spaces, uncovered
Sliding down chutes, climbing ladders,
sensing that something waits, something good
Inspired to keep going, following the lines
drawn in tingles on skin

“I told you if you called I would come runnin’,
across the highs the lows and the in betweens”

You’ve taken my hand and showed me
things are not always as they seem
Until you find them in your shadow,
lifting you when you fall,
caressing your soul in unexplained notions,
safety and comfort with merely a touch

“You and me we’ve got two minds that think as one
and our hearts march to the same beat”

Your eyes, my eyes, we see similar patterns
curving about skylines of melodic tempos
As we walk together, one step after the other,
but two steps always for the other
in whatever direction they choose,
syncopated movements hand in hand

”They say everything it happens for a reason,
you can be flawed enough but perfect for a person”

These scars of past seasons, cold winds blow
across arid deserts of details and misgivings
Cloaked in love’s blanket, accepted beyond yesterdays
Put away in box with a lock, no key is available
and neither would want it anyway

”Someone who will be there for you when you fall apart,
guiding your direction when you’re riding through the dark”

This light that leads, from your smile, your understanding,
your acceptance that I reflect back as a mirror
Enhancing the beam of this forever feeling,
Strolling down avenues of pleasure for
happiness is always a two way street

”Oh that’s you and me…”

The italicized lines are lyrics from one of my favorite songs, “You and Me” by Pink and Dallas Green off the Rose Ave album.

Only You and Me

The garden curled around us as we sat beneath the stars,
In the silver shine of Venus and the rust red glow of Mars.
The brandy was between us and we toasted life and love,
While the moon conducted music from the dark green leaves above.
In the cold grey light of morning we may think things diff'rently,
In the moonlight, in the garden, there was only you and me.

Vintage brandy in the bottle seemed to ask us both to drink
And the flowers that were watching clearly knew what they should think.
Then your glass was finally empty and you laid it to one side
While you closed your eyes and kissed me and the barn owl tried to hide.
In the cold grey light of morning we may think things diff'rently,
In the moonlight, in the garden, there was only you and me.

There was silence in my city as your lips were joined to mine
And I tasted all of heaven and a little brandy wine.
As our bodies settled closer and we melted into one
With embarrassed little giggles that were sure to signal fun.
In the cold grey light of morning we may think things diff'rently,
In the moonlight, in the garden, there was only you and me.

So we gathered up the glasses and we put the stars to bed
Then we walked along the garden path, my shoulder 'neath your head.
We pulled each other closer and we whispered with our hands
That tonight is all that matters and the whole world understands.
In the cold grey light of morning we may think things diff'rently,
In the moonlight, in the garden, there was only you and me.

Premium Member Ecstasy and You and Me

in this place
now
here
in the safety
of this languid afternoon
I close my eyes
and listen to her voice
her sigh
with your hand on my thigh
knowing as I do
that there is no pretense
or disguise
no need to hide
I am who I am
She assures me
It's fine

Awash in need
I let my body plead
I care to dare every hindrance
to disappear
because I deserve
to let the woman in me
be free to feel
Ecstasy makes her appeal:
"Make it REAL"

roles reversed in revelry
the pleaser now yearning to be pleased
the giver becomes the receiver
and all is as it's meant to be
for you and me

I let my thoughts fly
no earth and no sky
nothing matters
forgotten the where and why
no need to be shy
nothing
except this build up
sensations born of feelings
this surging urge
for sensual supremacy
to be
to arrive
knowing it will come
knowing
the world will stop
as it has before
wanting it again, once more
pausing at the pinnacle of passion's pride
all things having been played right
as it should be
release
of pain
of hurt
of everything...
everything but Ecstasy
who prolongs her stay
I don't chase her away
I hold on
let her play
have her way
in the wake of her spray
I lay

Sated sigh
on my high
I cry
eyes closed
slowly
slowly...
She loosens my hold
and with kisses on my face
she starts to recede
back into the realm
of fantasy freed

echoes of "I love you"
coming through
the haze starts to lift
and I drift...I drift
fingers in my hair
kisses everywhere
Ecstasy exhausted
my eyes flutter open to see
my life back in focus
it resides
there in your eyes
my destiny

Let it be
Oh, let it be
Always...
Ecstasy and you and me

I Dreamt Last Night of You and Me

I dreamt last night of you and me,
your lips so soft I kissed
We floated on a silken cloud,
drew rainbows on the mist

Then counted daisies in a field
and when your smile appeared
I gathered up a sweet bouquet
that whispered in your ear

Made love upon a mountain top,
the snow was pure and white
Then marveled at a hummingbird
its tiny wings a’ flight

We rode inside a trolley car
up hills and over dales
Setting forth to distant shores
with paisley colored sails

Caught moonbeams in a Mason jar,
and poured them on our skin
Then there neath jealous fireflies
we made sweet love again

Set dominoes in a straight line
and laughed as they did fall
Your evening gown and brand new shoes
were perfect for the ball

We caught a flight to someplace near,
yet is was also far
For when we landed once again
we stood upon a star

That’s when I heard from listening
to someone passing by
This evening now came to an end
I thought that I might cry

But when my eyes did open to
your beauty as my view
It mattered not what I had dreamt,
my dreams had all come true

Just You and Me and the Moon

~

Solitude soothes
on this chilly winter evening
along a drowsy lake
just you and me
and the moon,
watching ripples
upon the water
playfully reflect the
wonders of a night sky

I find your January lips
and as we kiss
the heat of a
thousand campfires
flows through my body,
melting me into
your arms while
fern leaf shadows
silently blush

A pine tree canopy
allows twinkling stars
to peek quietly
between a mosaic
of wind woven branches,
as soft breezes
whisper nature’s
love songs gently
upon our skin

We sit amidst this
tranquil serenity,
gazing into each other’s eyes,
feeling our hearts beat
in harmonic rhythm
with graceful mesmeric
waves kissing the shore,
falling in love
all over again…

just you and me
and the moon

Premium Member He Wept For You and Me

In chains, did he complain —
this man of sorrows?
He wore his stripes well.
Freedom for all! Freedom for all!

Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.

Encircled by snarling beasts —
they mock and strike
like venomous serpents.
Can you hear the cruel heartbeat
of angels who weep?

Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.

How vulgar our tongues!
They rage feeling sorry for themselves.
But, look in his loving eyes —
what do you see?

Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.

Did he stand before saints?
Did they seek the truth?
Every last one was out for himself.
But this man looked to release,
to relinquish the chains even of kings.

Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.

He sees the one in terror, the lonely,
the poor, the sick and lame. He showed
us who can heal all infirmity.
Surprise your dim eyes — lift them up
to the light.

Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.

If he returns today, how will he find you, my friend?
Will you bare your teeth or crumble at his feet.
Are you about cursings or blessings?
How do you feel about life and death?
Looking into his eyes, would you dare
to compromise?

Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.

Saints are former sinners, under his righteousness not wrath,
wrapped up in a robe of glory, under his glorious wings.
Saints “one another” as in:
love one another,
forgive one another,
do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.

Are you caught in a snare of your own making?
Do you judge and stare at the others made in God’s image,
same as you?
Look into his soulful eyes! See the Spirit’s wings!

Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.

When Dark Lust, Casts Its Gleaming Eyes On You And Me

When tears are sharp daggers that pierce a wounded heart
when within midnight terrors, this spirit staggers
ghastly beasts dine upon freshly torn body parts
as tragic love's flings its many poisonous darts.

When piercing cries, through moonlit night's echoing ring
when savage monsters, dance around rot and decay
as dead roses, their wafting aroma burns and stings
ghoulish monsters laugh, crown themselves as golden kings.

When dying moans, within blacken, deep bloody pits
when unholy hell, its gifts this world celebrates
are measures of life, and the dangers of deep hate
such is fodder for evil's grasp, at Hell's first gate.

When heart burns, with its embraced dark and wicked glee.
When dark lust, casts its gleaming eyes on you and me.

Premium Member The Difference Between You and Me

You hug and slug me
You hot and cold me
You love and loathe me
You calm and craze me
You feed and starve me
You kiss and hiss me
You heal and hurt me
You praise and raze me
You fill and kill me

I hug and tug you
I heat and hot you
I love and live you
I calm and psalm you
I feed and fill you
I kiss and miss you
I heal and feel you
I praise and raise you
I fill and thrill you

Between You and Me

When you are here
All hopes, dreams and ambitions disappear;
Drowned in your eyes when I hold your hand,
Unremembered now that I understand.
For you perplex my mind with memories
Of so many forgotten ecstasies;
Which were, are not and perhaps will never be
When we hold this moment between you and me

Remember the way we used to laugh and talk for hours on end?
It didn't take us very long to be the best of friends.
So exciting just to have each others company.
I miss that you and me.

Remember when we started to finish the things each other would say?
An understanding rare and deep to know someone that way.
Easily, we led each other's eyes to see.
I miss that you and me.

It sure seems like these days we have less to talk about.
I know you still love me, in my mind there is no doubt.
It just don't seem like anything's the way it used to be.
I miss that you and me.

Sometimes, getting ready for bed, you watch me brush my hair.
Pretending not to notice, I take pleasure in your stare.
Is this the night your passion reaches out to me?
I miss that you and me.

I don't believe in fairytales, so someday I expect,
the time will come in life when love just turns into respect.
Candlelight and romance just a faded memory.
I'll miss that you and me

If memories are all I have to keep me warm at night,
the ones I have are just enough to carry on my plight.
In your arms is where I truly want to be.
I miss that you and me.
I need that you and me.
The way we used to be.

Bond Between You and Me

When I think of you
Hunger grows,
When I dream of you
Hunger grows.
My Goddess & slave of love.
A promise of rain
On the desert,
A roar of thunder,
A flash of lightning.
Revealing your seductive
Charms on me.
Skin to skin our bodies
Rub together,
Innocently playful, so lusty
And eager.
Hungry heart ready to begin
Love poems on your
So gorgeous and soft skin.
The air is heavy and thick
As wild honey
With your warm and
Fragrant breath.
the breeze teases our
Skin so gently,
A life bond between you and me.

You and Me

**********************************************************************

Turn and turn again atop a shallow bed of rocks; still

Lingering amid the mist these thoughts left dangling

As an autumns flower upon a virgins branch within winters

Silence waiting; to be awaken afore the frost takes its bite....

Icicles like thorns to pierce the hearts; cold as this may seem

When hopes die and dreams bleed; petals, falling from the sky!?

Premium Member You and Me In Bed

The thought of you and me in bed
rings alarm bells in my head
I don't know, it just doesn't seem right
to have you for myself all night

Of course, I love your torrid affection
I'm just very concerned about the direction
that our ahem, uh, er -- you know what I mean
when our lips meet under covers unseen

So I'll be the adult right here and now ~
I shall not sleep with my beloved meow
