"Wishing Well"

Plain Jane blew her wishes
down a wishing well

Lit long white bless'ed candles
dipped in holy water

Brackish

Crocodile tears from Hell
Witches hold hands together

Stand united
show and tell

Plain Jane
knows her subjects inside out

Sisters plain and simple
holding hands

united

standing by the
Wishing Well

Can you imagine the day when we will all know
it will be safe to go outside and say, "Hello."
Sharing hugs and laughter with family and friends
enjoying time with each other on long weekends

We could even go abroad for a holiday
and our grandchildren could visit a...

Recollections waft
across my mind like
wisps of soft white spores -
the vague remnants of
my memory’s threads.

Spring’s sun-gold heads
I now can‘t hold!
But glimpsing them,
I can recall. . ..

a young girl
blowing fluff
and wishing

time would
quickly

pass.

Girl, I'M Wishing
She's writing again
God, how I love her pen
That hand can make a man tremble
Her script today about the sea
So jealous, wishing it were me

Just seeing her name
And I'm falling to pieces
I can't shake the feeling
Or stop myself from reeling
Captivated by her heart

Paradise abides within...

Premium Member Wishing In Vain
How I wish my poems could,
Soar higher and higher
Like a bird of limitless wingspan,
Dashing into horizons far!
But they skim like web footed water birds,
Tilting their wings in vain,
Unable to fly to any desired destination
Helplessly watching larks and eagles
Flying to the far edges of the sky

How...

Wishing for you
You’re still here
But not physically
although you appear constantly
You’re the wish I make on stars on the long dark nights without you
You’re the candles on my cake I blow out as I wished our firefly loved still burned
You’re the wishbone pulled form...

Wishing You a Donald Trump
Name your next ten children Trump
May all your twins be Donald's
I wish you a Merry Christmas too
With Happy Birthday visions of him
With surfer dude hair very wavy and thin
Almost life like and pretty pink
And may all your New Years be funky
Full of Trump and truck...

Wishing Upon a Star
Wishing upon a star

I made a wish upon a star
this evening in the sky
To send my love to where you are
as it goes shooting by

And if by chance it misses you
while flying high above
Then I will use my poetry
to send to you...

Waiting for spring to arrive,
winter, oh w i l l I survive!

I want no snowflakes falling,
oh, SPRING you are crawling.

Outside the snowflakes are pretty
wishing for blooms. Oh PITY!

I want flowers to caress,
wear a sweet summer dress;
snow is my...

Premium Member Wishing Not To Recall
Revisiting our ancestral farmhouse
I feel this certain tinge of aloneness,
Which smudges the lively remembrances
About a big clan huddled together
Under narra trees, each Sunday…a frolic kindled
By Grandpa’s recycled stories about literature,
His passion for Cole Porter’s music,
And the grace of old jazzy temperament…
Oh, we would feast on...

Wishing, Hoping ,Praying
Wishing, Hoping, Praying

I wish so badly that I was dead
Found in a tree hung under head
The tender kiss felt from a rope
Its for this end that I do hope
To end the pain felt day to day
Its for my death that I do pray
So I am...

Wishing Upon Stars
O stars, your twinkling never changes
with moods or emotions.
That’s why you give people hope
when there is no light
at the end of the tunnel in their lives.

O stars, I wish only one thing from you-
the secret to how you glow
every day and night without a...

No Need For Wishing
No need for wishing

We waltzed on the moon
while the universe slumbered
Strolled through a maze at
the edge of midnight

Stenciled a heart on
the clouds found at sunset
Painted a garden
in jasmine delight

Watched as the day dawned
a silken mosaic
Laid in the grass
neath a heaven sent view

Bid...

Premium Member Wishing Star
The sky has a star
In darkness it shines
With the shinny moon
         light
This bright star stands
          out
In the moon lit sky
I make a big wish
Then hope it comes...
