Dandelion Wishing

Recollections waft
across my mind like
wisps of soft white spores -
the vague remnants of
my memory’s threads.

Spring’s sun-gold heads
I now can‘t hold!
But glimpsing them,
I can recall. . ..

a young girl
blowing fluff
and wishing

time would
quickly

pass.

Breathtaking. One can feel the hope through your lovely innocent words. Exquisite writing on a special moment and to wonder what our wish would be today. I think this is my favourite for the emotions it evokes and how beautifully you have captured it. fave, 7+ lynnxxx this form is a first for me and your soft words fit divinely. your words would be a cherished gift embossed on a first journal book for any young girl, a sweet reminder to savor life, there is no hurry.:-)

Looks like an older poem getting new life, Andrea. It's lovely. Isn't it amazing how we seem to always be wishing our lives away, especially when we're young.

A lovey expression of the treasured past Andrea you write supremely well, oh by the way Eileen was a co worker that collected anything frogs so one day I thought it would be nice to add a custom poem to her collection =)

Hi Andrea, I have been under the impression that you are allowed to enter a contest and later, within the contest period, change it to something better. A note to the sponsor would be helpful, though. Especially if they have already read your poem and filed it into a judging category. I have changed poems in the past. I think I even placed with one, too. Good luck. You are right. The contests are going very fast! Take care, Andrea. Lovingly, Dane Ann

Remember the song "Dandelion" by the Rolling Stones? That is what your poem reminded me of. Fine work - and a new form on me! Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish
