Can you imagine the day when we will all know it will be safe to go outside and say, "Hello." Sharing hugs and laughter with family and friends enjoying time with each other on long weekends We could even go abroad for a holiday and our grandchildren could visit a while, and stay Our shopping trips won't be such a tedious task with no distancing or need for wearing a mask I can’t give credence to those who keep denying Covid exists when far too many are dying Some have said it’s a conspiracy theory Their continuous drivel makes me so weary Can you imagine how pleased and relieved we’ll be When at last the whole world is covid 19 free Can You Imagine - Any form Poetry Contest Sponsored By Constance La France 01/25/01

Something I hope we won't have to only imagine much longer. I think I value freedom more now, having felt the loss due to Covid 19. There are many types of freedom that could be lost. Trying to be mindful. A timely verse, well written. Congratulations on POTD.

I can't wait for that day to come. I am so sick of living in fear of being infected by a belligerent little virus. You have written this sonnet piece extremely well.

Thanks so much Robert, i do struggle to write this form as seldom write them as I was bullied when I first joined by a guy who wrote 'perfect' iambic pentameter and didnt like the fact my simple poems were more popular than his literary masterpieces. we are so lucky here on the Island as we are covid free once again and life is back to 'normal' except for our border regulations:-) hugs Jan xx

It's reality for our little Island we are covid free once again, our government have VERY strict measures preventing people coming to the Island unless they are key workers or for compassionate reasons. if its another year or so before we can leave then so be it:-) hugs jan xx

Oh what a beautiful poem Jan, and I so agree with you about people denying Covid exists and it is only a conspiracy theory these people have not lost a loved one, without even being able to see them or be with them - how sad! Congratulations on POTD well deserved. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

A very nice poem. I second J. Summers comment. I actually had a panic attack when I forgot my mask! Yes, I can imagine the day and I pray for it to come. Congratulations on POTD.

I make sure I have a stock of masks in my coat pocket, its second nature this time around we had lockdown from march to June then covid free 6 months then back again in early January but with people working together we are due to come out of lockdown on Monday, there is hope for everyone :-) hugs jan xx

our little Island is due to come out of lockdown on Monday, our government has acted very quickly the second time round to try and control the spread of the virus and have done brilliantly, takes people to work together and follow 3 simple rules. I know some disagree and say its a conspiracy theory and covid's a hoax but having friends who have lost loved ones (some with both parents) I know its all too real:-( hugs jan xx
