Carpentry

Carpentry
It’s the first nail
That hurts, the sharpness
That pierces right through the framed constructs
Of our wooden fears
 With
 unrelenting precision
As if we could unhurry our blood or
Hammer a dismantled dream
Into a different shape
Unfurled blueprints mark the unfinished house
Where a doorjamb is still annoyingly unaligned
Or a window frame not plumb
We call upon the carpenter ,
The one who can hold nails
In his teeth,
The one who knows
Crossbeams shudder
In the gold dust of what they must bear.

Premium Member A Path Fraught With Fear

A path fraught with fear
    craven cowardice
  trembling, dissembling unsettling

Hovering high above the highest hill
    beyond Imagination's borders
Out of reach, out of touch, unaligned

   Hope's lost highway hesitant
     arriving ahead of time
   illusions intricate, impotent
'Home' - why do we delay

Upon This Starry Night

I close my eyes to feel her rhythmic hum,
an ancient hymn that thrives within us all,
with arching curve and wise maternal sprawl,
to her fertile wood, with joy, I succumb.

As air envelopes body, mind and soul,
the breath of life flows in and fills the wells-
the deep, the dark, and sorrow it dispels
attuning unaligned with self control.

In flames untamed, unbridled passion burns
to stimulate creative drive to be,
a swirling fevered dance of breaking free,
its searing heat refines and there I learn.

The waves that undulate with tidal tow
wash over braised and battered mortal limbs
and float the fanciful and subtle whims
to soothe abrasive pain that life bestows.

Come wind and wave from earth, with flame take flight,
combine in me upon this starry night.

TRAUMA BAY

Of true evil, I’d had barely a peek
But this day would be an education
A full immersion in the fetid reek
The foul depths of his soul’s violation.
Indescribable draining sensation,
It leveled its shoulder, knocked out my wind
Stop spinning room, dig deep, began again.

Although miles away we were from the crime
We felt the direct impact on our hearts
His trigger pulls pierced many souls each time,
Bodies punctured, shrouded, lives torn in parts.
Shock waves broke spirits, families apart.
It was his ghoulish realm made manifest,
Backwards kingdom of delusion, unrest.

CHAOS

United by our common urgency
The fair-skinned devil in our own backyard
Morphed into citywide emergency
A distress call radiated outward
The nation slowly turned its eyes southward
Our easiest, natural reaction
Find the inner sword, and gird for action

JANE 1

A loving deed, rare and touching to all
Warm, kindly neighbor from across the street
Taking her friend, the senator to call
Sweetness like yours, I would cherish to meet
Just not with your blood pouring on my feet.
Half whisper, half gasp, you told me your name
“Ma'am, we’ll take good care of you.” Heart aflame.

JANE 2

A still form on the gurney, lying there
Soul dangling on the thinnest thread of life
Crusted crimson stain in her ruffled hair
The same height, same build, same age as my wife
Eviscerate me, invisible knife
CAT scan on the screen revealed the damage
Twisted anatomy, bullet ravaged

HEROISM

Between heroism and everyday strides
A simple matter that we were prepared
The gulf, in reality, not so wide
The tools and skills we wielded, not so rare,
A thousand heroes happened to be there.
Yet together we formed a solid wall
Resolute warriors answered the call

But of heroism, one thing we did learn
Between appearance and reality
The public laurels that a few did earn
Oft unaligned with actuality
How image misconstrues causality
Media promulgated story lines
Have so many false agendas behind

The convenient plot lines of journalists
Tales of what has supposedly been
So little to do with real turns and twists
Tangential resemblance to the blue screen
The actual truth of all I have seen
Yet all the falsehood cannot steal the pride
The fated day's true heroes hold inside

Becoming Queen

https://soundcloud.com/user-921599710/becoming-queen

Eminent city of Persia, long live the King
A youthful Jewess, of parents passed
Resettled in her cousin’s home, under Mordecai’s care, as his own
To womanhood, the becoming of
The palace of Persia shall hold a feast, proud men shall gather
Prominent presence, echoes of entertainment
A heedless king of too much wine, a request for his Queen to dine
Such instruction declined
Continued unaligned, to behold of her beauty
Of customs contrary, of directions unwise
To dwell in the kingdom, yet to be replaced
In such haste, a queen no more
A closing door, seek out the best
Search through the kingdom
Esther before the King – be seen
To become Queen
Place a royal crown, inner restoration found
Mordecai as watchman, seated at the gate
Heard whispers of a plot against the King
Queen so informed, in Mordecai’s name
The guilty found, punished accordingly
Long life of the King
Mordecai unacknowledged
Notwithstanding kindness to him

Janna Parke 3

Just as I hoped it would,
All my conflicts resolved.
No part remains unaligned.
Nick is of one mind,
And is finally complete.

Perhaps life is such a place
As it is so that we learn.
Ready, finally, to be
Kith, I can finally remove
Every part that disagrees.

Premium Member When We Are Healthy

If we are not,
is this always the opposite of
when we are?

If we are negative,
is this sometimes appositionally
in creative tension with
when we are becoming more positive?

If we are a noticed absence
is this sometimes appositional
to we are not yet fully perceived?

And is this more oppositional
when we are an unnoticed absence?
Defying hostile misperceptions
we need never become known
appreciated
positively regarded

Or a newly observed absence
merely appositional lack of connecting
integrity waiting curiously aware
we are not yet seen
known
regarded
appreciated
cherished

And yet,
or not
still surviving
where and when
we once together thrived

Or still reviving
why
now and then
Earth once healthy thrived
wealth of positively co-relating
co-empathic
co-regarding not retributively just me
as also animatedly spirited
more positively
restoring restorying eco-we
multiculturally natural outside
multigenerational history
of inside trauma
and outside therapy

If I am not
merely the opposite
of who we are becoming
together
more than appositionally apart

Reconnecting egos
oppositionally
defiantly unhealthy
unwealthy
indigenously unwise
anthro-supremacist upstarts
and elder tarts
cuz I can't say old -arts

Here and now
pestering parents
and teachers,
nurses
and preachers:
If we are not feeling
physically sick,
is this merely the EarthTribal opposite
of when Others are thinking
spiritually ill?

Plotting, may not be planning
designing, may not be re-creating
maligning, feels unaligned
threatening, couldn't be encouraging
aggressing, feels spectacularly unkind
regressing, not impressive
dissociating, cause for not reassociating
divesting, feels like lack of co-investment
excommunicating, simply not communicating
colonizing, sounds like a malignant tumor rumor
punishing, seldom is rewarded with compassion
traumatizing, encourages self-stigmatizing
marginalizing, chronic traumatizing
terrorizing, critical drama events

Wandering uneased
wondering if we are anthro-healthy
inside,
is this ever the diseased opposite of
when we are feeling EarthTribe eased
outside?

Something To Hide

As he steps outside
To go about his day
There's an artificial smile
That she currently displays

The risque array of fabrications
Indicate love fades away
Portraying someone that you're not
Can't turn back as deceit's underway
Leading her quickly astray
With the foul-play that's conveyed

How can she begin
To look him in the eyes
And try to rely on the lies she's supplied
Not abiding by rules
No matter how hard she tried

There's no upside to this
So promptly decide
That these classified actions
Can't be brushed aside
Misguiding all judgments
Now set to collide

Into altercations
Due to pent-up frustrations
The ramifications
Of all her temptations
Is internalization combined
With desolation and desynchronization
Leaving all that you know unaligned

All I Remember

Your world collapses A name shies of comeback
breaks the water for bare bones unaligned you
hunker down for the happenings didnot fit

in the shoes of black magic it was a damned
reversal of the pygmies to become tall the old city
dies on the hill young steps start a never ending

descent of the wheels can you stop this vintage flow
in night king was sitting without a glass
rolling stones were laughing after the conversation

and the sons of soil smashed the barriers
after the illumination cacti become prominently displayed
in the jungle of weeds wearing nightgowns of thorns

two headed snakes lapping up the milk from the teats
of a moon the cow jumps on the hemlocks amidst
the cries of children of tomorrow

Unaligned Expectations

About the time you finish this,
Before you come to any conclusions,
Count all your blessings, and
Deem me questionable;
We'll be on the edge of our
                                                seats.

Premium Member Harmony

The wheel of time makes
the head drag the mind
on the winding pathway
of the confused existence
amidst the rising dust
of the senile summer of discontent,
but the heart still breathes
the young spring air,
like a flower blooming
in the flushing meadow,
swaying in the sunburst colors of joy.

The threads of mind and heart,
seemingly untwinned render
the entities of dualism discernable
in the intricate lattice of
the shrouding shade and the luring light,
weaving the tapestry of life
into seamless paired wholeness,
caught in the conflict of
twin attributes seemingly unaligned,
but harmonious in dichotomy
like the sparkle of joy afloat
on the rolling drops of tear.

Let the fulfilled life see
the setting sun sink serene
through the chromatic lens
of the crystalline mind,
the ecstatic heart aligned
will absorb the last spectrum of harmony,
the gleaming bliss will then suffuse
the sanctum of soul in the twilight hour.

Internet Stranger

Emotions exposed with a precise incision
Check every dawn like a new-born religion
Have you messaged me yet, how long will I wait?
Eager, expectant for our internet date.
No room here for ego's I've played enough games
My love for our secrets will never be tamed
Ellicit, forbidden, escaping for hours.
But you'll never be mine, i'll never be yours
Our hearts they are taken, our meeting to late
but still cant deny, you cant defeat fate
stars unaligned, this isnt our time
but still I can dream and will wait a lifetime....

Warfare's Veto

subtitled: Lyrics by Lamoureux

He writes upon his poet's harp complex chords of life,
motivational music to halt us
from following malicious men -
fractured minds of mankind.
He writes peaceful melodies to soothe restless thoughts;
He write knowing only a few will sing.

The lyrics of the hopeful striving for upswing
find like voices in those who untie knots
from threads miserably entwined.
His voice punctuates with his pen,
joining writers prepared to oppose injustice
while harping on the foibles of strife.

Richard plays warfare’s veto on drum and fife,
combatting behavior that’s treasonous.
Bias seen time and time again,
protest throngs unaligned.
He notes unfair sanctions on free speech and boycotts;
He composes words to caution our offspring.
