Best Tooth Decay Poems

Premium Member My Childhood

I saw a child on a play yard swing
And my soul soared with fervent joy.
As precious memories came flooding back
To when I was just a boy.

When on a sweltering summer day
My shirt and shoes were often first to go.
Since nothing had a better feel
Than the cool grass between my toes.

The swing, the slide, the monkey bars
Where sweet Helen stole a kiss.
When at the time... seemed most unkind
But now has earned a storied bliss.

The many games of British Bulldog
We played to the edge of a summer light.
Till our Mother called a second time...
We were forced to bid our friends good night.

Blow pops, pop rocks and bottle rockets
Were the well earned cause of tooth decay.
While any nutrition laced with vitamins
Were still lost to future days.

My bumps and scrapes of minor wounds
Were left to heal on their own.
While the deeds that caused such battle scars
Were merrily born with sated groans.

But my mind can barely fathom
How such treasured times have gone.
But such is how the march of time
Keeps our memories safe where they belong.

I wish I had the bearing
To have made those moments last.
But sadly such is not the case
So they happily languish in my past.

Premium Member My Son Wants To Talk About Tooth Decay

we're in a cafe and he's unsure if he can
finish his slice of CAKE, one of those
fondant numbers and so we've made an arrangement
which will allow me to consume half of it
but then, "dad, i actually think i can finish it."

i get a message from a friend asking how are the kids today
i reply like what i make of the french revolution;
it's too early to tell

Sharing hard candy with her best friend Shirley
Impossible task if deciduous teeth are lost prematurely
Although each child progresses in a different rate
My predecessor took its time as I came in a little late
I caused Chloé pain erupting—cutting through her gum
An icepack so frigid was chilling, making me numb
Chloés sneaky attempts to hide sweets in her room
Have cost her front baby teeth to come out to soon
Candy, I chomp up and bite down ‘til it’s in many pieces
Crunchy and noisy, sugar and saliva all over me releases
A child should brush us teeth, at least twice per day
And avoid sugary foods that promote tooth decay
A stubborn child who doesn’t listen to mom's wise advice
Needs to be told over again, more than once more than twice
A sweet tooth like me never gives in and so, I have a chip
Off to the dentist we’ll go, for a temporary behind Chloé’s sore lip!

Premium Member My Tooth Fairies

I was six when I first had a tooth decay,
I spent squalling in pain almost the whole day;
When my mum brought me to a male dentist,
I ran away upon seeing his muscles and big wrist.

She took me back home and asked my dad,
“What shall we do with our child, she’s so coward?”
My dad patiently cuddled me as I sat on his lap,
“Take this aspirin my little girl, soon the pain will stop.”

While my dad was coaxing me,
He told me a tale of a tooth fairy
He made me believe that she will come at night
To replace my aching tooth---so new and white.

While I was attentively listening to him,
The soporific aspirin drew me to a sweet little girl’s dream,
The tooth fairy appeared real in my sight
In her silver gown and hair-dress, dazzled me so bright!

She smiled at me and asked for just one wish,
She gently blew one big flying magic kiss,
Fruity- toothpaste’s bubbles meander everywhere
As she waved her golden wand, fairy dusts filled the air.

I moved around stretching my arms with glee,
Jumping once and a while with the enchantment I see;
I giggled and screamed until my dad woke me up
I told him about my dream, my joy was on top.

Dad asked me to open my mouth to check my teeth
He found a new one coming out from underneath
My decayed milk tooth was moving to and fro
He tied and yank with a yarn…he was my dentist and a fairy, too.

Bubble Gum Is Yummy Yum

Bubblegum is sweet and chewy
Blowing bubbles can get gooey
When it pops inside your hair
Trying to pull it out with care
Doesn't work neither does washing
SO scissors are used for forcing
Out this yummy ooey treat
That every kid loves to eat
Trident and Dentyne caress
Your mouth with a nice freshness
So people aren't scared away
It also helps with tooth decay
Bazooka Joe was really fun
Comics wrapped around the gum
With funny jokes and prize points too
Gifts could be mailed to you
Zebra gum was full of rainbows
Colored bubbles you could blow
Different flavors in each stick
Finding your favorite was the trick
Chicklets are so cute and square
You could take them anywhere
In a box they are protected
The smallest gum that was invented
The best gum came in a pack
Of trading cards you could stack
And trade with all of your friends
Complete collections int eh end
People chew gum everyday
A trend that is here to stay
Being chewed so merrily
A treat that is happi8ly
Part of everybody's world
But please don't be like the girl
Who was acting so stingy
And turned into a blueberry

My Pet Lion

I took my pet lion to my dentist
     Because he had tooth decay.
Now, my lion's tooth is still there
But my dentist has gone away.

Tooth Care

Aligned in place, they changed and grew
A distinct frame to chomp and chew
To rip, to crush, to tear and bite
To process food, determined might

Forward canines made to tear
Bold incisors lessen wear
Solid molars help to crush
Day and night our teeth to brush

A solid set, with aim to grind
The sets of teeth we can but find
Milk teeth formed, of first event
The adult teeth grow permanent

Meat eaters are carnivores
Plant consumers’ herbivores
To brush is not inferior
To balance bad bacteria

Balanced diet, portioned fruit
Brighter teeth, a healthy root
A poorer choice of alcohol
With smoking yet will take its toll

For where leftover sugar lay
An acid forms for tooth decay
Improved choices – don’t delay
Brush and floss teeth twice a day

She Was Omg Mean

Long ago there was betold
a tale that many have descried,
of a creature, scaled and icy cold
havin' two black bulging eyes.
An impudent beast, brassy and bold,
bewitched because of foolish pride.

The myth tells she's often seen
withered, wrinkled and omg mean!
A bitter and ugly nasty ole fiend,
bellowing in screeches is her choice
in dead of night and midst of day.
Stench of breath from tooth decay.
Close your ears to that shrill voice.
Don't let your children out to play.

Don't get close or point your finger.
She'll bite, chew and claw at you,
so do not pause and do not linger.
With sharpened talons she scribbles
unintelligible things in bloody dribbles.

Heed this warning and you'll be spared
from the furious fire breathing dragon.
From in her cavern she once even dared
to scream in defiance at the morning sun,
yelling curses with her waggin' tongue.
Then she nestled in the back of her cave,
resting her head upon a pillow of dung.

Candy

Candy is good
Candy is sweet
Candy is my favorite treat!
I eat it all day!
There's no such thing as tooth decay!

Lollipops! Gumdrops!
I'll eat them until my teeth rots
But they never will I've still got all mine
Brushing is a waste of time.

I wish all the candy on the world was mine
I'd eat it to I get old and died
If I ever ran out of candy I'd cry

OH MY what is that pain!? Could it be a cavity???
The dentist tells me it must be pulled.
Oooooh I screamed like never before and now I know what brushing is for.

When Twinkie the Kid Battled Captain Cupcake (

When this happened it caught the world off guard
An epic scene, a memory that you could not discard
Who would have guessed these two titans of obesity and tooth decay
Would break so many kid's hearts in such an upsetting way
The loving memories before this you could not forsake
The day Twinkie the Kid battled Captain Cupcake
Toucan Sam would choose sides and give the Kid some twine
Cap'n Crunch would throw his fellow Captain a life line
Fruity Pebbles took one side and Trix Rabbit took the other
Aunt Jemima split sides with Uncle Ben her twin brother
Count Chocula severed ties with his long time friend Tony the Tiger of Frosted
Flakes
Nobody realized how much trouble was started when Twinkie the Kid battled
Captain Cupcake
Now both state their case in front of the FDA
This is to determine who goes and who stays
The Twinkie Kid tells about his spongy outside
Captain Cupcake fires back with his pure chocolate pride
Captain Cupcake mumbles I bet you would get seasick
Twinkie the Kid hears and replies I know a rotund fella like you couldn't control a
lasso or perform horse riding tricks
In the end, they both reconcile and admit trying to outdo one another was a big
mistake
Generations down the road, history will repeat itself with a legendary battle of
belly busters between Twinkie the Kid and Captain Cupcake

Swing and Sway with Tooth Decay (Sammy Kaye)

we would swing and sway
had heard about tooth decay
was to our dismay

do need dental care
at mouth she started to stare
teeth beyond compare

did have his consent
would know what my dentist meant
cavities prevent

we found a fable
dentist lives in a stable
goes to work when able

his office is plush
on dentist do have a crush
must be sure to brush

he will let me in
dentist is my next of kin
took my teeth for a spin

am a horny toad
my dentist does have a code
brush teeth or hit the road

my case was mental
when in office that is dental
hope they are gentle

had heard a Horn pun
when my dentist had been done
was second to none

when life would waiver
dentist was my life saver
on best behavior

mind in mental traps
did have a mental mishapse
our bride would collapse

you need a mascot
which you know will hit the spot
in store can be bought

this is all for now
my head I will have to bow
God me did endow

Damaged

Rotting away like tooth decay
Crashing down like a building
Dissolving like sugar in water
Just pain and no shielding
Breaking like glass
Chipping like wood
Been falling apart
From the start
Fixing it we should

Smile

Dental work, dental work, it never seems to end,
Railroad tracks, bridge and gap, till polygrip your friend,
Flossing here, brushing there, tooth decay averted,
Rinse the mouth, fresh and clean, our taste buds alerted,
Though we brush, sometimes floss, some germs will still remain,
Business lunch, late night snack, the germs now play their game,
What the heck, who's to say, just how to live your life,
Do your thing, have a fling, who needs the extra strife,
Drills and picks, dental aids, we see them twice a year,
So have some fun, pizza run, and chase it with a beer.
