Why wouldn’t you cut me loose from the strings that bind us
You had left me dangling from a marriage that once united us together
The bonds were broken - you had forsaken our love, not once but so many many times
For over a year now you have been seeing her
I could never understand why you wouldn’t set me free and let me spread my wings and fly
I‘d have the chance to find someone who would be faithful and love me – ONLY me
Yet you still chose to wear my ring upon your finger
You wanted to have your cake and to eat it too
Whilst I was suspended like a puppet floundering in mid air
At first I thought it was all about saving face - playing happy families
You didn’t want your parents to see YOU as a failure
It was always me who visited them every week
Running errands and taking them on days out with the grandchildren
You simply paid your parents lip service and rang them saying you are working away, when in reality was you really were with her
But now I have discovered the truth why you won’t let me go - your father let it slip one day when I saw him.
It was his birthday and you’d asked me to take him a bottle of his favourite whiskey - this was your downfall - you know how he likes to talk when he’s had a drop
For now I have discovered the truth the REAL reason why you wouldn’t set me free.
It’s all to do with money – the clause from your uncle’s will. You were his favourite nephew and I could never understand why you didn’t inherit when he died
Now I know the answer - we needed to remain married for fifteen years then and only then would you receive your million-dollar legacy
Ever since your father revealed the truth about the inheritance I have had a private detective trail the two of you – dates, times, photographs I have all the evidence I needed.
The private detective I hired – oh he was delighted to take on the case - you see SHE is his soon to be ex-wife
Well sugar I’m filing for divorce. Don’t bother contesting it. It will be finalised on our 14th Wedding Anniversary.
I’m no longer your puppet, the strings that tied us are finally going to be cut.

I never saw a tie that had a practical use;
And I never knew why a man would want to wear a noose.
There are as many good reasons for wearing ties
As there is for cultivating mosquitos and flies.
To cover up buttons is a use that's named;
I never saw a button of which I'm ashamed.
They're a social tradition, so the in folks swear it.
So is syphilis, but I wouldn't want to wear it.
They are manly attire say the folks straight and narrow;
But my manhood doesn't need designated by an arrow.
So while I am living and after I die
Save me from being strangled by a god damned tie.
Family ties welcoming with warm bliss
midst kiss and hugs of every brod and sis
contagious laughter of exuberance...
exude our ancestral house we can’t miss.
Thus, in passing by an ancient abode
its garden full of ferns, and weeds-bestowed
decrepit roof whispers “I need repair”
we just sighed at the load along the road.
Evoking forlorn beyond grandeur-state
ramshackled porch hides against rusty gate
while antique door bearing rosette design
shows golden staircase railings of great weight.
Touched by the sight of the pitiful site
we know in our hearts, we should do what’s right
as now, we behold through our van’s window
home we pray* as our faith's dome of delight.
*2Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power.

Secrets should always be easily shared.
Interaction rather than causation,
Unbridling the soul of all ties once aired.
No need for vigilant calculation,
Intent on seamless communication.
Just being with others in the moment,
A genuine, life-giving, bestowment.
BLOOD TIES
O Brother mine,
aeons, we bathe in fiery pits;
epochs, you quench your thirst,
from my wells of wisdom…
Broken by the mallet of Creation,
away you went.
Then came you.
Likewise, your seed…
Centuries you’ve suck me dry.
Your nests glitter with my blood,
atop my remains, your rivers flow.
My seed dammed to the Throne…
Bronze shackles, you gave!
As cousin Arabia fuels your rage,
Rage, rage, rage…
As for in time you’ll kneel.
And forgive I shall,
for your sins are mine.
O Brother mine.
Timeless clocks,
bring us together.
As in fiery pits, we bathe.
Our Seeds will bear fruit,
Love and Peace…
As to dust we wither.
What did I do to deserve this treatment
How did you not feel the weight of that lie
You put all your feelings ahead of my own
By playing semantics to justify
Well now you can breathe 'cause it's out of your hands
Today I will speak, and I say "goodbye"

BITE SIZE POEM no29 Poetry Contest

There have been no lies
No long painful cries
We lay under the skies
Watch a bird as it flies
More perfect then pumpkin pies
I look deep into his eyes
But they are no disguise
For our hearts are together with countless ties
Ever since we exchanged our first "Hi's"
And never once have we said "Good-bye's"
No, "who's, what's, when's, or why's"
We work together like the sunset and sunrise
But still even if one of us ever dies
I know for sure... our love survives
Soul ties are tight like crazy glue.Who could ever get through?Stuck twisted,and
bonded,can't really hide it.
Soul ties:listening to the continuous lies and the fake alibis underneath that dark
disguise.
Soul ties are so deep that they cause me to creep.Making me feel so cheap
inside where the Holy Ghost can't abide.Because there is so much sin inside of
me,causing my maker to turn away due to the sin I've created that burdens Him
everyday.
Soul ties are like cancer that will cause you not to answer the call of the parakleet.
Come and be restored.Take the mindset to be free and walk into God's liberty.
Soul ties can make or breaker you.A soul tie with our maker is burden-lifter and a
yoke breaker;the finisher of all my fights with much delight.I don't have to fight
anymore.
A soul tie can make or break you .Which one will you choose?Or will you continue
to abuse the soul and unite with savages that cannot make you whole?
Continuing the cycles of twists and turns and down in hell where the(flesh) will
burn.
Soul ties:which tie will you take?Jesus is on His way.Get it right today without
delay.Release the sin today so you can be on your way.
Soul ties:which one will you choose?Today,again, I say Jesus is coming any
day.Choose to connect with Jesus.He'll lead the way.
Soul ties: which one will you choose?With Jesus you can't lose.
Soul tie with Him today!
One of my boyhood dreams was to become a successful functionary,
With an office with a view, a fine oak desk and a pretty secretary!
To wear a suit and tie (to me) would be the pinnacle of success.
I was sick of wearin' brogans and overalls - I'd settle for nothin' less!
I suppose to a certain degree my youthful dreams came true.
For thirty years I wore a tie with the Air Force suit of blue.
Anon, the wearin' of a suit and tie had lost much of its appeal.
My discomfiture at wearin' a stranglin' tie became hard to conceal!
My spouse attributes my disdain for suits and ties as a lack of cultivation.
To not wear a suit and tie to church she considers an abomination!
I'll deign to wear such garb for a weddin' or funeral to be a tad more couth,
But I suffer thro' each excruciatin' minute of the ordeal to tell the truth!
Here in the wild west, a well-dressed dude wears scruffy boots and jeans.
Shucks, the feller could be a prosperous rancher and a man of means!
I'm in heavenly bliss wearin' my jeans sans a constrictin' suit and tie.
I feel as free as a golden eagle soarin' in the pristine Colorado sky!
I reckon that when I cease to function and bid my friends adieu,
That they'll insist on displayin' my mortal shell for everyone to view.
But if they dress me out in a daggone suit and especially a throttlin' tie,
There ain't no delicate way to express it - I'll just up and die!

YOU'VE GOT TO BE MISTAKEN, YOU MUST BE WRONG!!!
I cried so hard, for so long
Only seven,
I’m too young to be an orphan
I remember it, as if it were like yesterday
When they took me down to the parlor
To identify my parents’ bodies
Here today, gone tomorrow
Less good than bad examples I did follow
No someone in my life to give me unconditional care
Until he came along, such a dear
But like all the others, expectations he had
And as would a horror movie, it all went bad
PUSH!!!
It’s as if I was looking down on my body
Was that my imagination or the nurse screaming at me
More miraculous things have been known to happen
As I slowly drift back to reality
Is that a baby, whose is he?
HAPPY TWENTIETH!!! They shouted
Another birthday another year
Being a single mother has its wear and tear
Days turn into weeks, then into months and years
As I watched my restless juvenile, turn my aspirations into fears
GET OUT OF MY HOUSE, YOU ARROGANT FOOL!!!
The cops were here again today,
I thought you were in school
I’m tired of them always, giving me the third degree
I’ll rather get rid of you
Than you causing the death of me.
So with the trials of passing times
Her health begins to fade
But she could not forget about him
Because he was her child
And he will always be a part of her
Body, soul and mind

I remember it like it was yesterday.
Knowing to myself she won't say yes to today.
It was unrequited, but if I quit I know I would regret it.
At times I know I'm not a positive influence.
But I can feel our greatness through all this indifference.
This emotional soul tie, is it because our feelings are mutual?
That familiar existence like she was meant for me.
It's like my life revolves around her.
Give me a revolver and I'll resolve this concern.
Sometimes I wonder if she'd leave if I don't get my act together.
But the curtains are closed.
This secret bond hasn't been revealed to the world.
No wonder there's no audience so her pride won't be hurt.
Or is she giving me time to show her my worth?
For these people out there already know her worth.
She needs someone that earns a lot at work.
So I'm searching for that riches on this planet earth.
Not for her, but for me.
I don't want to be the disappointment she sees.
Even though she is the one loving me.
I still wonder at night what would her family think.
To keep it real I don't want this ship to sink.
Our infinite link!
There is a scarlet cord which hath been
woven with the strength of love
Entwined between thine heart and mine
A three fold cord that can not be broken
though time and distance doth separate.
Tis a precious bond between you and I
that only the Father could create
An irrevocable bond that shall ever bind
thy life to mine.
For this scarlet cord woven by a Gods design
was to be a family
This cord shall bind us together for
all time with a love that cannot be defined.
Fate makes a date with strange decrees;
Appoints and hurls each man a path;
Moves each estate just as surely;
Indwells and swirls all living stuff;
Lines each to each as kin and kind;
Yet moulds our tribe with common needs;
Tricks us to reach for peace of mind;
Implants a pride that each might seed;
Exults the pulse of plain good choice.
Sells each a style with curious feel;
Hides wild impulse in feisty poise;
Endows odd wiles that seek to heal;
Assigns appeal in paradox:
Listens as will lives in-the-box.
