...asp’s entwining z e s t:

                           B-E-W-A-R-E!!!

Here's my vulnerable soul, Lord...

... earnestly hiding inside Your grace-propped fortress

of verily empowering compassion:

SHIELDED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB!!!

1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Premium Member A Tempting Fate

(Inspired by the humorous short story, "Angel Of The Odd", by Edgar Allan Poe.)

This young man had just been visiting his mother,
His wife disapproved of spending his time with another,
He grabbed his coat and hat, but not an umbrella,
For, he was quite an unwise and careless fella.

The rain began to pour with thunder and lightning,
This foolish man did not find it a bit frightening,
He was looking forward to a warm hug and a kiss,
Although, it was her cooking that he really did miss.

He quickly jumped over puddles and leapt the gate,
But, little did he know, that he was tempting fate,
He knocked and pounded his fist on the front door,
The house remained dark, though it never was before.

Now, all that he needed to do was simply unlock it,
But, he found the key was no longer in his pocket,
He picked up a rock and shattered the window pane,
It didn't matter to him, if he disturbed their entire lane.

He cooked and ate his dinner, now he wanted dessert,
In his mind he thought, what could one more bite hurt?,
The young man could not silence the feeling to crave,
Yet, that is what would put him right into the grave.

His wife's specialty was a heavenly, angel food cake,
And, into this one, a secret ingredient, she did bake,
A drop of deadly poison to keep her husband at home,
For, she never liked the idea of being left all alone.

He was very much in love with this pretty, young baker,
Yet, she had planned a date with the local undertaker,
Her selfish plans to tempt him, had worked all too well,
His new home, six feet under, is now where he would dwell.

Premium Member With Her Tempting Pose

Her tempting pout bounces
from night's artwork like a slow fire that churns
a raw desire in need to be quenched ...
and it is so mysteriously enchanting: to be
entrapped by that feminine aura
that simply blazes on a spotlight of lure--
red-tossed hair flitting along
tangy whiffs of potion absolute,
unrestrained: how her blazed glimpses
pulse within contours of her appeal

that minstrel stars collapse...

Tempting Pot of Desire

Red lips, the perfect simmer in her hips,
A pot of desire seasoned just right,
the malt vinegar to my fish and chips.
I had Coke at home, I wanted a Sprite.

I lifted the lid, stuck one finger in
the sizzling gooey layers steaming
with sticky sin, but what to my chagrin,
The absent aftertaste had no meaning.

I searched for fullness, but not satisfied
and still feel a rumble deep down below,
I need to eat with my heart—not my eyes,
but temptation’s a sly cook, apropos.

His recipe for lust grew from the root;
you know, it’s in our blood to eat the fruit

Tempting Tart

Simply delightful
Just like trifle
Sticky Toffee
Or even banoffee
New York baked
Yummy carrot cake

But you can't beat the sugary taste
That sticks to your lips and clings to your waist,
Of the lushness of strawberry tart
Tingling your tongue and melting your heart
Crumbling of pastry, licking of cream
Juicy bite of strawberry, heavenly dream

Tempting Voices of the Dark

You must not resist your own destiny
leave behind the light if you want to see
where you come from, what you will be
Darkness of your heart protects from the light
the essence of you--
your identity.

Don’t you fear the night blinded by the light
Lie and close your eyes and open your heart
Your are dark inside, come inside the dark
Let the healing snakes come protect the gates
Of your tarnished soul of the earthly lives
Get ready to die and be born no more
For eternity!

Tempting Fate

I used to walk carefree around this world,
My shoulders light and free of any chips
Not thinking fate would ever come unfurled
By nonsense escaping naïve lips

I thought Murphy ’s Law was ludacris
Karma for a mind that over thinks
Superstition existed to dismiss
All part of fate’s anxiety hijinks’

Until it came to my moving day
I lived high up on the 11th floor
Casually to the moving guys, “Hey,
Do this quick, I’ll tip you a little more.”

A few shortcuts to speed things up a bit
“What’s the very worst that could happen?
Throw straps on that piano, get on with it,
Hurry up now, I’m too busy to tap in.”

Off I went to an important meeting
Signed the client that made everyone wary
Called 3 times for this face to face greeting
I wonder why they call her bloody Mary

No bad ever gets to me, nothing could
I stepped on cracks all the way home, too
And I refuse to ever knock on wood
Who could be so down with a sky so blue!

I peered up toward the aforementioned sky
A feeling unfamiliar appeared
A trick of the reflection in my eye?
Or warnings come to fruition I feared

Hurtling down due to a broken pulley
Was my big beautiful baby grand
No one took the time to check it fully
And I stood right where it was to land

I wish now I watched my fate testin’ talk
Cuz that piano is really hummin’
Whose ivories tickled me into sidewalk
Damn, I guess I shoulda seen it comin’

Premium Member I Shall Not Be Complete Nor Will I Be Content

I shall not be complete, nor will I become content.
I will only be complete at the end of my life,
Which had been given to me to live along with the strife.

Standing before and being with God to account for all of my sins.

Never shall I be content from the strife in life is a stake,
Nor will I be satisfied with the drudge we need to take.
I don't ever want to be perfect in any kind of way.

But in this world, we live for God's sake,
It's too overbearing with the sin you're tempted to take.
I'm trying to live the best way that I should win,
Even with tempting with its overbearing sins.

Taking the roads that are pleasing to you,
At least finding out who you are,
And for what you must do?

I undoubtedly cannot be the perfect buoyance
Because it too would be the place of arrogance.

So everyone tries to be all that they can be, indeed.

Speaking of its perfection,
I say it exists only in Christ Jesus, our King.

Premium Member Tempting Tower

From the pulled-sugar tux
To the pressed-sugar gown,
The sweet candy couple
Will paint the cake town!

From their sugary heads
To their saccharine shoes,
They're the topmost of all
To spread the good news.

They've layers of goodness
Stacked under their feet,
First, a moistened red velvet
Of chocolatey sweet ...

Below that, two inches
Of soft coconut cream,
That rests on two layers
Of strawberry dream!

A tangy, tart lemon cake
Is what lays beneath,
Then almond vanilla
Circles all like a wreath.

Two inches of spice cake
Then gives that support,
And under that, still,
Is a rich German torte.

The base of Cake Mountain,
This pyramid pleasure,
Is double-fudge marble,
A sweet, scrumptious treasure!

But it all looks the same -
Frosted art, to the eyes,
With all the fun layers
As a wedding surprise!

But the rose-gilded sides
All coated with frosting,
Aren't nearly as steep
As what it's all costing!

But don't worry, each inch
Of mouth-watering ice,
Is confection perfection,
And well worth the price.

But if you're still craving
The sweet stuff that's inside,
Seems the groom craves that, too,
When he looks ...

At the bride!

Voluptuous Outlook

VOLUPTUOUS OUTLOOK
Have you ever seen?
the dark side of my face
If so, you would not aspire, my love
Take a different angle
and look inside through my tempting eyes
then you will see
My carnal desire concealed underneath

I am a voluptuous creature
My sense blends with deception, eroticism,
and evasive love
Be vigilant and make use
Your genius, brilliance
and act before flying the decisive moment
I am a genius of amorousness
fear, hate and protest
filled with selfish sex temptation
put up with your wisdom
and courageous will

If I were the only jackal
who targeted looting your virginity?
I am the lucky dog and I will not give up
this tremendous opportunity
I see disdain, fear, and hate
in your body language...
Although you are a charming flower
I don’t mind it
I see your body
as a sensuous lure
I cannot waste the chance
scanning your beauty

Your lustful lips and blooming breast
twittering like leaves in an autumn gale
the moaning sound of the inner throat of you
inspire my temptation
Before the thunder
silence waits out after lightning
If you stay looking for
care, justice, or sympathy
I will attain certainly my wish
Why don’t you fly away?
just like a she bee!

Tempting Fate Over Coffee

I buy my coffee and read a while
Get a refill
And then write a bit

But then there are mornings
In which I cast custom
To the winds

Let fate know
I give not
A whit

So instead I buy my coffee and write
Get a refill
And then read for a bit

A daring change of habit
But one’s soul must at times
Be allowed to fly free

Am I a creature of habit
Oh no,
No…not me

Tempting Rain

The heavens wore gray
a blanket of clouds hovered
ensuing a roiling interplay
of sun and impending shower
wrestling for control of the sky.

I was feeling gleefully energized
brazen enough to dare the rain to fall,
command the clouds to move away,
anything more promising I left
on the lap of gods in full confidence.

With the air streaming with possibilities
my eyes glazed hypnotic at a distant vision
a flock of blackbirds exploding out of a tree
my cue to disregard some measure of deference
to a weather which at any moment may go rogue

Taunting the skies to behave
I set out for a walk on a trail which led
to a winding road that rimmed the lakefront
stark silhouettes of trees looked eerie yet haughty
their skeleton branches spread in wild abandon.

The somnolent quiet sank into my bones
as I breathed in this solitude owning my space
but a storm came and flung me into the suck of wind,
the sting of rain drenched and soaked me
wet to my skin, shivering and cold.

Unflinching, I carried my own kind of survival
like a badge of honor, though I tempted the rains
which took on my bluff, I had shaken my fist
on the gods that be who were clearly not amused
but did not plunge me into an avalanche of mud.

No Tempting, Blue Roses

Is there such a flower as a despised blue rose...
the one I desperately chose
to sign end under a sad story,
which had neither passion or glory?

With tears so rageful, she thought it was the final goodbye;
why I didn't choose a more charming rose with a different color,
perhaps not as red as her unfaithful heart? It wouldn't have been a lie!
Ever since, I have shunned and hated blue roses despite their splendor.

They tell me that the reason for my unbearable loneliness
is the urge for touching a face slipped from my grip and will;
if I am to blame...why did I love her with intense sweetness,
and nothing was returned besides a promise so brittle?

Let me see only red and yellow roses...but no tempting, blue roses;
I couldn't relive moments rejected by a woman so deceitful and ravishing,
and she smiled as they did, but that trust was distant from the beginning...
marring the lovely appearance of that blue rose standing out from others.
