Premium Member Still I Run

I race for summer's setting sun
as crimson bleed the alder leaves
and still I run. And still I run.

My rival, time, is yet undone.
Past pyramids of flaxen sheaves
I race for summer's setting sun

across the low unbroken run.
Each cow out in the pasture grieves
and still I run. And still I run.

In late September’s crisp blazon
my heart to fragile hope now cleaves.
I race for summer's setting sun.

With slaughter of the calves begun
I fled beneath the killing eaves
and still I run. And still I run.

Our time on earth is under gun.
My burning chest now breathless heaves.
I race for summer's setting sun
and still I run. And still I run.

EMOTIVE WRITE

I never had the chance to meet my Mummy
She was killed in an accident … they couldn’t save her
Hit and run that’s what Daddy says
Daddy cries when he talks to me about her

I never had the chance to meet my Mummy
She died from her injuries
The doctors did an operation and saved me
Daddy cries when he talks to me about her

I never had the chance to meet my Mummy
Daddy shows me lots of photographs of her
He says that I am beautiful like she was
Daddy cries when he talks to me about her

Every day Daddy takes me to visit Mummy
He said she is asleep with the angels
I wish I could cuddle Mummy in her bed
Daddy cries when he talks to me about her

Premium Member Run Away With Me

Come run way with me to brink of make believe
Where landscape undulates to rhythm of my dreams
Come run away with me to gypsy’s golden glen
To be immersed in depths of tantalizing streams
Run away with me

Come run away with me; dance to Aurora's tune
Hear melodies that play in rainbow colors bright
Come run away with me; watch love sick stars that fall
Hold on as we set fire to curtains of the night
Run away with me

Come run away with me; let's lie on sun drenched shore
Gaze through my raven strands at embers in the sky
Come run away with me; taste honeyed sunset kiss
Look to my paradise with wonder in your eye
Run away with me

Come run away with me; take outstretched hand and heart
Your travel guide, I know what places bring delight
Come run away with me; life swiftly passes by
Entrust your heart to me, and see where dreams alight
Run away with me

Poetry River Run Free

Quietness upon the face,
Silence and loneliness,
Land before time,
Before living things existed,
Sadness as my waters ran through the earth,
Was my voice the only thing to be heard?
As I swelled and ebbed,
Swished back and forth,
Was I alone as I sadly moved?
Was my story over before it started?
I ran through the earth looking for life,
Through the mountains to the highest peaks,
Over the desolation through the land,
Congregated every teardrop into large seas
My tears filled every part of the earth
Sadness as my heart became an open ocean,
I realized that I had great power,
A gushing force as I quickly moved,
I was unstoppable and determined,
As my adventures of roaming became exciting,
The earth began to drink of my waters,
A great light shining down,
Began pulling me up towards the skies,
Something very dramatic happening,
Breathtaking!
As I hung around in great clusters of clouds,
Looking down upon the earth,
Beauty astounding and thrilling,
Until a great crash of thunder,
Crashed through splitting bursting into
Millions of tiny droplets,
I fell to the earth,
With exhilarating freshness,
Hitting the ground at great speeds,
Continued flowing on my journey,
Into the rivers then back home to my sea,
As I looked up to the sky
Great colors burst into a rainbow,
Life began creating,
Smaller than the eye could see,
As surely then up to the tallest trees,
Earth drank of my rivers
As the poetry in the river ran free.

Rabbit Don'T Run

My shy moth eyes
were attracted to the beauty of your flame
The pleasure of knowing you
was worth the risk of me feeling the pain
From the hurt burn of you leaving ...
a house of mirrors with no image of you within
I always knew this day would come,
certain, like the rising of the sun —
Beautiful rabbit you would wanna run

Timid, nervous ever ready to flee
The mirror of reflection
would always set your fear in motion
Numbed by the booze,
paralyzed by the pills
Gave you enough courage to stay still ...
but, only for so long

Beautiful rabbit on the run,
afraid to face
the demons you’re running from

When the face of reality would sober in,
then the cracked mirrors
would leave your bleeding heart sobbing
So many lovers before me
handed you jilted tissues
for your self-esteem issue tears
Wiping the candle mask of your promiscuity,
cold wax let you know when it was time to flee

Beautiful rabbit you on the run,
wielding your body like a weapon
Beautiful rabbit giving the foxy bullet stun,
using love like it was a loaded gun

Beautiful rabbit on the run,
marred habits has disfigured you
Ugly memories you can’t let go of,
scarred flesh melted by an abusive flame
Leaves you often holding a gun,
ready to make your last rabbit run

Beautiful rabbit, don’t run ...
beautiful rabbit lay down the gun

It was the loss of your gorgeous butterfly wings,
which so attracted me to you
I saw the beauty inside others never knew,
the vulnerable side you kept hidden from view
The trauma of your lovers no longer wanting you,
made the truth of the silent phone too painful to hear
And the vanity of rejection you use to give,
is the emptiness you are now forced to live with
Lonely, emotional catacombs you weepingly prefer;
the Before portrait on your wall, I never saw her
Tragic soul went bed-hopping down the rabbit hole

Beautiful rabbit, don’t run ...
beautiful rabbit put down the gun
Beautiful rabbit, I desperately desire you,
let your marred heart be warmed by this truth
Beautiful rabbit, don’t run ...
finger the safety between my loving arms
Beautiful rabbit, don’t leave this way ...
burn the suicide note in the fireplace
Beautiful rabbit, don’t run away
Stay here with me ... please stay
the rest of your enchanted cottage days

Premium Member Without Notice To Run

Time can fly with inspiration and fun
Releasing our soul to love with our gifts
I walked a mile, without notice to run

Thoughts, grains of sand, collect in sand dune drifts
The ocean curls and wraps hugs around me
Releasing our soul to love with our gifts

My words can reach farther than I can see
Shells echo everything back to be
The ocean curls and wraps hugs around me

Choice with our time, allows us to be free
To dive in the ocean with our free will
Shells echo everything back to me

Our faith and real purpose, no-one can kill
Freed by the wind that arrives anywhere
To dive in the ocean with our free will

Watching a sunset, I can only stare
Time can fly with inspiration and fun
To live simply, is only a small fare
I walked a mile without notice to run

The Salmon Run

The amber skein of autumn leaves,

embanks the tumbling torrent

of the splendid forest stream.

A salmon homes to lay its roe.

Follow her, as she curvets

the swollen falls and rasping stones.

Herring Run At Cape Cod Canal

I could not paint a better picture,
Than the one in front of me,
Of twists and turns of the canal,
Bordered by endless trees.

A warm day with a slight breeze,
Giving the grass moving shadows of leaves,
Multiple species of birds stop by,
Some on the ground, some in the sky.

Gulls, Terns and Cormorants dive,
For crustaceans and fish of various size,
While sparrows, robins and occasional chickadees,
Grab insects on the fly.

Parades of boats, barges and ships,
Fascinate and entertain our time,
Sitting by the canal is more than a pastime,
It's watching life at its prime.

Fishermen, bicyclists, joggers and tourists,
They enjoy this special place,
Taking it all in; they embrace,
Nature at its purest!

I’m a scoundrel that travels by sea
with me mates. We are happy and free
cause we live life with ease
doing just what we please.
It’s the life of a pirate for me!

If you see in the distance our mast
with the skull and the crossbones, run fast!
We’ll be comin’ for you
and your women folk too.
There is nothing of yours that’ll last!

Cause we’ll loot and pollute till we’re through,
burn your houses and then come for you.
Better run far away.
Run into the next day,
cause your gold we’ll be lookin’ for too.

Leave by boat, and I’m gonna be frank,
when we catch ya, that boat will be sank.
Once we drink us some rum,
we’ll be having our fun
watching captives of ours walk the plank!

I suppose we might have sympathy
for a maid who acts dutifully.
But if you’ve got a wife,
better run for your life,
for no honor nor scruples have we!

Since a pirate don’t do what he should,
if you see us in your neighborhood,
better get up and go.
Bad is good and Yo! Ho!
Me pirate life’s better than good!

Grandma Got Run Over By a Milk Truck

Grandma got run over by a reindeer
I'm sure you remember that song
Well that was my grandma who was hit
And again, they got part of it wrong

See, she really was run over by reindeer
But it was nothing like they said
Those deer were driving a milk truck
That left my poor grandma nearly dead

My poor grandma just got done milking
And was putting the cows back in the field
When eight drunk reindeer in a milk truck
Crashed thru the fence and didn't yield

They just kept on going thru the barn yard
Straight thru the creek and down the hill
Grandma looked like a bug on a windshield
With pieces of her wig on that milk truck's grill

Now poor grandma never seen it coming
Cause she was looking the other way
We even found that poor womans glasses
Stuck on a scarecrow near the hay

Well, now my grandma had not been drinking
Like that song had claimed she was
But somehow they try to make it funny
Seems like those city folk always does

Well, that's about as much as I can tell you
Because the lawsuit is still pending
Those reindeer got some north pole lawyer
And we heard he's pretty good at defending

So beware of reindeer driving milktrucks
For they mean to cause your grandma harm
And don't forget try to remind your grandmas
To look both ways when she leaves the barn

Premium Member - Run For Life -

To share a painful dive
deserves credit
I was terrified
Police groped blindly in this chase -
a psychopathic serial killer
A cold knife blade against the body
is in every way a mental abuse
Even if you're trying to gain control on all
the pieces that are missing in the moment
Run ... run ... run for your life

Beads of sweat drip from the forehead
taste of blood in the mouth
I have no idea where the forces came from
had to fight from start to finish
in this life-threatening situation

Run ... run ... run until you are exhausted
I did not have much strength left
But the alternative would have been horrible
The world suddenly turned black
I woke up in the hospital one day later
No one can distance themselves from this feeling
The experience is forever in my backpack

Premium Member Pride Be Hubris Run Amok

41.
        Resist I Must

Pride is hubris run amok
To rot the soul within.
It rises from the depths of hell...
The deadliest of sins.

It is the snake that slithers so
To pervert both bold and brave.
It may appear the luminous rainbow
But at its end... a pauper's grave.

Resist I must... if resist i can
To this bastard's sad decree.
Knowing counted among the fallen...
Are far better men then me.

               The End

                   42.
       Sorrow on the Vine

My thoughts were sorrow on the
Vine... my brain in some distress.
I carried on, as best I could
With an effort to suppress.
But malcontent was soon to be
As despondency quickly grew.
I will go to bed... to sleep the night...
And tomorrow start anew.

                The End

                     43.
              The Wretch

A wretch upon the gallows stood...
Devoid of any plan... while
Life was weathered astride the door
And Death cackled near at hand.

The Angels sang as Angels do
When one answers Heaven's bell.
But judge not those about the gallows...
Lest you be judged as well.

                 The End

                     44.
        The Clock is Ticking

If you cling incessantly,
Counting down your final breath...
Consuming supplements and vitamins
To cheat the Reaper of a death.

But the clock is ticking... ever ticking..
And when you meet a timely end...
Embrace Death in all its glory
And make of it a friend.

Fear not the specter of Life's decay...
But if such a thing should be.
Let Church bells ring and Angels
Sing... as you shed mortality.

                  The End

                       45.
          A Thought Was Had

A thought was had, and had it was...
To a point beyond dispute.
I surprised myself, I did, I did...
It seemed to bear some fruit.
I bandied it with knitted gloves
Concerned for it to break.
I crept about the boarding house
To rouse my friends to wake.
We gathered round the bellied stove
To hear my thought defined... but by
Then, the thought I had, I thought I had...
Completely slipped my mind.

                The End

Hotdogs On the Run

With Baseball hotdogs on the run
Caught up in, excitement and fun
Watch where you go
Before you know
You might slip and fall on your bun!
