I often see teenagers chewing away their lives from underneath their nails, removing all traces of evidence of an ill spent youth, he he he . . . ; )

I feels too much... as soon as they’re dirty they gotta go, keep my nails short as I can’t stand feeling not being able to feel fingertips.

Striking imagery, especially 'picking my youth/out from under my nails' - something about it both wistful and pragmatic-

I've been rereading this Maureen. Trying to still put my feelings into words. The first two stanzas seem to be the "vaguely concrete". But then the line "on the page" takes me to that this is what I'm reading, and now I need to in reality arrange everything so that it makes sense. BUT now my comment doesn't seem to make sense lol. I think that's why I can keep reading this brilliant poem over and over again Maureen, because each time I can "forencially" find new evidence. Does this make sense???

Mo, I'm enthralled by your hybrid of forensics and poetry. I'm a Sherlock fan from way back, read all of Doyle's stories twice. My fav TV shows are the crime solving ones - fav character always seems to be the forensics wiz who can tell what city block you live on based upon the bootprint you left in the mud and the cigarette ashes you left behind! Brilliant - love, love, love this! ~ John

My honey and I are hooked on those shows too, my faves always the awkward wiz. Mum read true crime and watched all the shows, so looking back, guess I was raised on them ;), Thank you John! :), xomo

Nothing like a poetry-forensics combo. Myself, I prefer it with pickles and onions, and a little container of formaldehyde on the side. ~ Pickle-Dipper

Lol! ;D, Mum and Grandmum and aunts and cousins worked at RCMP forensic identification; mom was working on a novel, gram was a prolific poet. I wrote about me & G & green onions, love'em with salt xo ~ Onion-Dipper
