did not know
about my roots so researched....
grassroots inheritance assured?
I grew up on granddaddy's ranch
There wasn’t a bull I couldn’t conquer
My cowboy boots only came off
When I changed my clothes for soccer
I love the smell of fresh green grass
The sound of the ball hitting the goal post
I love racing down the field
Ya’ll listening? I love soccer it’s the most
Well. let me tell you a little story ‘bout
Flying on a plane
Our team went to Scotland
To play in a big game
My excitement turned to fear
I was just a mess
The players came from the other team
and each one had on a dress
John gave me a flower
I think I saw it wilt
My coach whispered in my ear
Calm down that is a Kilt
Now ya’ll I know I am from Texas
We’re called the Lone star State
We love our fellow man
Ain’t a neighbor that I hate
But to see a handsome boy
Smile and try to flirt
Reach his hand to shake mine
while wearing a wool skirt
I know I know it’s called a Kilt
and it’s a part of their tradition
but what is a girl to do
I’ve never dealt with such conditions
They come in many colors
John’s was green and red
His friend had one of grey and blue
Matched the hat upon his head
The goalie for their soccer team
Was a boy called David Heath
He laughed and whispered in my ear
“We wear nothing underneath.”
Did I mention I’m from Texas?
Well, I ain’t no Southern Belle
The thoughts I had while practicing
Would’ve made my Mama yell
I looked it up in history books
Researched in magazines
To wear one of those in Scotland
Is like a Texan wearing jeans
I tried to act naturally
but all my head could do was tilt
I just had to go back home
and tell the story of the Kilt
finally, about the time the game was at an end
That cute boy from the airport
reached for the ball and had to bend
I still don’t know if he made the goal
I’ll have to ask Coach Milt
because all I saw was what he didn’t wear
underneath his Kilt

Some inventors and scientists, they have both said
That science fiction books put ideas in their head
A novel that was written by Arthur C Clarke
Gave Tim Berners Lee the necessary spark.
The communicator in Star Trek that was fantasy
Martin Cooper of Motorola made it reality.
Beam me up Scotty, well that’s not here yet
Research is being done and they’ll crack it, you bet.
The news pads from the movie 2001
Now everyone has a tablet for online fun
Remember talking HAL, I’m sure you all do
Computer giants researched it and made it come true.
The movie Dick Tracy where they talk on their wrist
Now the smart watch is another to add to that list
Men dressed as robots in old movies you see
Now robots build cars, no longer fantasy.
Artificial intelligence now it can change your life
Any shape any colour, you can have one as your wife
But research and tech gadgets, are we moving too fast?
Mankind might become just a thing of the past.
Take for example a factory with two hundred men
Now all you need is a robot and a workforce of ten
But it’s not something new, just look at history
Job loss came with the intro of the Spinning Jenny.
Ray guns and flying saucers at area 51
They try to tell you that nothing is going on
No need to panic it’s a research facility
Whilst making space age weapons for the military.
And films have inspired the creation of drones
Controlled very easily from an app on your phones
X-Ray drones are the ones that bother me
Wear a swimsuit in the shower because they will see.
Robots that can think will outwit us one day
We’ll just be a nuisance and be put out of the way
Science fiction for many is just fantasy
But it inspires the great minds in creativity.

My wife said our sex life, ”Is always the same…”
“You need to spice things up, and rekindle our flame”
So I got onto the net and researched lots of stuff
I took tons of notes and soon…I had enough
I went to “Trickie’s Tricks” with a list a mile long
I even skipped around, humming a naughty little song
So my wife came home from work and entered the scene
I sported a mankini and mask…she started to scream
I chased with a feather in one hand and whip in the other
She dashed from the room, crying loudly for her mother
She slipped on the rose petals…the candles fell to the floor
I reached for massage lotion as she darted out the door
She left me hot and bothered, much to my chagrin
Whatever I do, I feel I just can’t win!
So next time… I’ll ignore her rebuffs
Tomorrow night, I’ll whip out the cuffs
always, always books
have meant so much
to me
I like the weight of a book
my hands caressing the pages
they have taken me
to many far off places
I have been to France
Italy, Japan
the North Pole
and deep dark Africa
and many other countries of earth
I have walked rainforests
walked cobbled streets
climbed high mountains
felt the Sahara heat
seen all the blue oceans
and gathered sea shells
have listened to the oceans whisper
with their rolling waves
oh, all of nature's wonders can be found
in books
all the creatures of earth
and every kind of bird and flower
and all things green
on pages if you look
I have journeyed across Canada
from ocean, to ocean, to ocean
I have gone on a vision quest
meditated with monks in their
mountain temples
stood on a mountain cliff
with the wind in my hair
rode a unicorn white horse
have researched poets of old
and the great art masters
researched their histories and work
and so much more ...
and I never left home
except in my mind_

Life, in layman’s terms is merely that…life
It is a means to an end, a diversion of daily consequence
A planned out, researched, blueprinted and stamped
happening that all of us, who are still here, live in
Life can be a series of costly calamities
or if you look past the requirements and rules,
a collection of charming patterns
They can be seen everywhere if you open your eyes
in a corn field row meandering through a sunny pasture,
crisscrossing lines in vibrant green that move in the wind
Or something as common as a brick wall, charming patterns
created to secure an area or set boundaries on a backyard garden
Each brick follows the lead of the one placed before it and
offers guidance to the next in line
Though some may not find them as charming as others,
it is all in how you look at them
A gathering of books on a shelf, high to low, wide to narrow
or grandma’s quilt…now you must agree, that can be very charming
To some, life is life and that is all you need to know, but to others
life is a series of charming patterns…finding them is like finding life itself
For it is what it is…make it charming

Call me a conspiracy theorist, call me a liar
Cast stones to set my soul on fire
It will not change what I choose to see
I don't consider my brain to be less than thee
I've investigated, researched and done my part
To sort through information from the start
Hoping to make decisions that are best
Fight through corruption and let go of the rest
I do not judge those who differ with what they decide
But, false accusations will not make me run and hide

What Christmas Means To Me
By Ruby L. Perry/ [email protected]
Christmas is a festival of Expressing the Gratitude of what God has brought to us through Christ Jesus; For the Love, we have for one another. We thank God for the trees that bloom and the vine that grows. We thank God for the darkness at night and the light that shines through the day. We thank God for the snow, the rain, and the light the Sun brings. We thank God for the Carrols that we sing, that makes us feel the brightness of spring. We thank God for the Spirit of the Living God in whom we Praise because He is Worthy to be Praise. We thank God because He is real to my soul even when I am old. We thank Him because I love Him in my own special way. He Loves me first and I feel Blessed in spite of my difference. We thank God because He is All in All and guides us, beside us, in us from the beginning to the end; Ordering our steps in His special way. We give All the Praises, All the Honor, All Glory, All Power to Him in Jesus name I Pray, Amen.

My love has been out of town for weeks and weeks,
And I want to make a romantic dinner for two;
Something really special and sexy and delicious,
So, I spent days planning the menu and setting the mood.
~ The Menu ~
Appetizers
Krug Clos du Mesnil, 2000, Champagne
Raw Wellfleet Oysters on the half shell
Arugla Salad with Olive Oil and Vinegar dressing
Main Course
Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou Saint-Julian, Red Wine
Truffles
Fettuccine sprinkled with Basil and Red Peppers
Steamed Asparagus - Eggplant and Chives
Dessert
Cacao Chocolate Ice Cream with Almonds
Cafe
Now, I researched all these foods for one quality,
One thing they all have in common, all are aphrodisiacs;
Primal, sexy food, believed to enhance love making,
It is going to be an evening of passion and romance.
I decorated our outdoor deck with strung lights and lanterns,
Arranged the table for the best view of the lake;
Then, I took a bath with saffron leaves like Cleopatra,
And when my love arrived we kissed, and with soulful looks,
We went outside to dine.

YOU'RE NEUROTIC AND SO AM I.
THE ONLY QUESTION IS THE QUESTION WHY.
THE DICTIONARIES MEANING SEEMED PRETTY WEAK.
I SURELY NEED MORE THAN A PEEK.
I RESEARCHED NEUROSIS ONLY TO FIND.
NEUROTIC STARTS INSIDE MIND.
CARL JUNG EXPLAINS IT WELL.
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE I CAN TELL.
JUNG SAW NEUROSIS IN POLITICS.
WHERE DECEIT, CORRUPTION AND LIES ARE THICK.
POLITICIANS CAN NOT ADAPT.
THEY CROSS THE LINE AND CAN'T COME BACK.
HORNEY'S THEORY IN HER FINAL BOOK.
GAVE A THOROUGH AND COMPREHENSIVE LOOK.
A DISTORTED WAY OF SEEING THE WORLD.
INSIDE THEIR HEAD EVERYTHING'S SWIRLED.
COMPULSIVE DISORDER AND VERY OBSESSIVE.
AS TIME GOES BY IT BECOMES PROGRESSIVE.
ANXIETY, HYSTERIA, CONTROL DISORDER.
LIKE JUNG SAID BEYOND THE BORDER.
IT'S ELECTION YEAR SO BE AWARE,
OF WHAT YOU SEE AND HEAR ON AIR.
DON'T FOLLOW THE HEARD THEY'LL LEAD YOU TO SLAUGHTER,
TELL YOU EVERY THINGS FINE AND PLEASE DRINK THE WATER.

The imagination of their thoughts, Lambert Treasures were chosen.
Excited by what they saw, the room was the best fit.
Although they could not visualize it, they loved every bit.
Anxious to see all the details, the ones they requested.
Excited by what they saw, the room was the best fit.
What was presented, were Lambert Treasures creative reflections.
Anxious to see all the details, the ones they requested.
The fairytale they longed for, their dreams were coming true.

Their days were numbered, oh how their enthusiasm grew.
The fairytale they longed for, their dreams were coming true.
Not knowing were to start, they pondered on what to do.
Their days were numbered, oh how their enthusiasm grew.
They researched and made phone calls, they had no clue.
Not knowing were to start, they pondered on what to do.
Lambert Treasures saved them, their work is impeccable.
They researched and made phone calls, they had no clue.
The day was finally here, the room was beautiful.
I researched the earth's endangered species list and this is what I found.
There's everything on the list from A to Z - rare species just abound!
I'll highlight some of the more interesting varieties just to name a few,
That creep and crawl amongst us in this world-wide conglomerate zoo!
There's the Red-bellied Grackle, Pig Footed Bandicoot and Aquatic Rat;
Paraguana Mustached Bat, Zanzibar Guitarfish and the Andrean Cat!
A rare Whiskered Flower Pecker, Canarian Shrew and Amaragosa Vole,
A Peruvian Climbing Mouse, African Wild Ass and an Arend's Golden Mole!
Also listed were the Aruba Island Rattlesnake and the Okinawa Rail,
The Western Wattled Cuckoo Shrike and the Rolling Pebblesnail.
Something called the Philippine Warty Pig and the African Wild Dog,
And a Red-collared Mountain Babbler plus a Tanzanian Screeching Frog!
I also found a Banded Wobblegong and a reptile called a Bailey's Snake,
A Cameroon Clawless Otter and something called a Band-bellied Crake!
How about the Concave-eared Oderous Frog or an Eastern Bristlebird,
The Charming Thicket Rat, Common Yobby or a rare Dahl's Jird!
Some folks may find some redeeming value having these critters in our midst,
And I suppose to a certain degree we must learn with them to coexist.
But more importantly, if humankind can't learn in peace on earth to dwell,
We *****sapiens could end up on the endangered species list as well!

This VERY SONG is the VERY REASON that I KEEP HOPING that LOVE WILL ONE DAY...'MAYBE'...FIND ME...as 'SHE'...finds...ME! If I’d picked up a snooker cue, when I picked up a pen;
and then gone on to build a break of eight or nine or ten.
If I had only listened more to those who understand;
who told me not to play the game by using just one hand.
If I’d just watched Big Break much more, instead of writing
rhyme;
and studied Foulds and Knowles instead of Byron all the time.
If I’d just gone and bought more chalk, and even used a tip,
upon my cue, then thought perhaps to practice just a bit.
If I had researched Virgo’s words instead of Wilfred Owen;
and written many papers on ‘Where’s The cue ball going?’
If I had only listened more to whispering Ted Lowe
instead of sometimes listening to Pam Ayres in full flow.
If I had studied Parrot’s wit and Alex Higgins flair.
instead of Larkin, Betjeman, Wordsworth or John Clare.
If only I’d heard Snooker Loopy played a little more,
instead of writing verses that sometimes never rhyme!
If I had just stayed up all night to watch the grinder ‘Cliff’,
and not penned many rewrites of Kipling’s poem ‘If!’
If I’d just seen the final frame in Nineteen Eighty Five,
and had a longer tape cassette which didn’t then rewind.
If I’d thought of a funky name like Jimmy ‘Whirlwind’
White,
or ‘Scarface’ or ‘The Rocket’, one which would excite.
If I had done these things I’ve said, then yes I’m sure, I
know it.
I would have been a snooker star, and not an unknown
poet!
(Based on Rudyard Kipling’s poem ‘If’)
Opportunity and Curiosity
Lost their sweet little velocity
On a sojourn in space to a volcanicity
Mars, the god of war reddened to see two freaks
Were they the angels that Zeus had sent to bring life?
Or were they aliens to destroy through his smoky red shroud?
This astral invasion he knew for sure was by no accident or coincidence!
Opportunity with clever robosticity
Was the first to alight the lander on the dustycity
Curiosity quickened his agility to search for water before Opportunity
Mars waters flooded up at these angelic aliens' audacity
Dare they to gather his Martian soil and rock with so much of incivility?
Study? Research? Photographs? Do aliens wish to build another concretecity?
The two rovers researched blissfully in the picturesqueness of a forbiddencity.
Opportunity walked back to the spaceship towing Curiosity
The Maven took off from man's futuristic home, orbiting the fourth solar planet
Before reaching NASA's international space station with its top secret mission.

*Opportunity and Curiosity are robots sent by NASA to collect soil and rock to see if human habitation is possible.
* Volcanoes on Mars are now extinct
*Maven is a lander sent by NASA with the two robots
*Mars is the fourth planet closest to Sun
*Red dust covers most of Mars
