Premium Member Johnny Had a Girl

Johnny was my best friend through our early teenage years;
Wherever one of us went the other could always be found near;
Until he found a girlfriend who soon supplanted me,
But because he was my best friend, for Johnny I was happy;
Johnny had a girl
He had a girl
Johnny had a girl
She rocked his world
Johnny had a girl.

Throughout four years of high school I was always the third wheel;
Going off often by myself, leaving Johnny with his girl;
They learned about biology outside the class room walls;
Johnny always had plans with her every time I would call;
Johnny had a girl
He had a girl
Johnny had a girl
Oh, what a thrill
Johnny had a girl.

One week before graduation, coming home from a date,
Johnny never saw the drunk driver until it was too late.
For three months in a coma, I sat by Johnny’s side;
I knew that when he woke up, someone had to tell him she’s not alive;
Johnny had a girl
He had a girl.

I took him to the gravesite so he could see it with his own eyes;
We stayed there for hours so Johnny could say his goodbyes.

Johnny got in his car that day and started heading west;
Nobody has seen Johnny since, I wish him the very best.
I’ve taken care of her graveside for thirty years and more;
If Johnny ever comes home again, we’ll be friends just like before;
Johnny had a girl
He had a girl
Johnny had a girl.

Premium Member Johnny Football

At Texas A & M, he played at quarterback.
The young man led a prolific offensive attack.
He gave up his last two years at college.
Apparently, he needed money more than the knowledge.
He was selected by an NFL team in the first round.
This fall, at a football field in Cleveland he will be found.
Johnny, put on that helmet and pads right away.
Browns fans are hoping you will save the day.

Johnny Depp

My favorite actor I can easily say would have to be Johnny Depp,
When he has a new movie coming out, it puts a spring in my step;

My husband thinks that he’s insane, but that adds to his allure,
Has there ever been another actor that can play in rolls so obscure;

Take Edward Scissorhands for example, who else could pull that off,
There’s not another actor that could, but still my husband scoffs;

So versatile in playing roles from Cry-Baby to Sleepy Hollow,
And I’ll admit while watching scenes in Chocolat, I found it hard to swallow;

I have yet to see another actor who could match Depp in his whit,
Although Alice in Wonderland kind of freaked me out a bit;

The Pirates of the Caribbean movies all had me on my toes,
But Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a little weird, I suppose;

That having been said, he’s brilliant, No other can compare,
And when I see his picture posted, I can’t help but stop and stare!

Premium Member Johnny Cash, a Southern Gentleman

                             Johnny Cash, a Southern Gentleman

I knew Johnny Cash but never got to shake his hand

A hero, myth and a legend to so many that adored him

To me he was just a country boy , fine Southern gentleman

Entertaining , caring and unselfishly giving his best to them

He wrote and performed music of the simple freedom and country ways

Lyrics so heartfelt that tears naturally fell gloriously from the skies

Of love , life , danger, death and redemption that brings greater days

Seeking the answers to the questions of the how, where, when and whys

Gifting us all with his spirit and his love of helping those in need

Joyfully playing his music while dividing up his soul to share

Offering up his amazing life complete with it's heart to bleed

His love of life and concern for others never yielding there

His music taking second place only to his beautiful soul

Those crazy, wild and daringly foolish younger escapades

Only served to endear him to us while making his legend grow

May his memory live longer than the stars that heaven made.....

Dance For Me Johnny, Dance

Finding this roll of yellow paper
Twas just a tiny child seven years old
Gathering all his colour crayons bits as whole
Setting aside the somber tides in silence an attempt
To rise above these swirling waves a distant world but where...
Surreal it seemed less than dreams and all the tear stained, shores.

Premium Member When Johnny Came Marching Home

I watched as Johnny was handed a uniform
Saw him trained him to kill, in a regiment conform
Marched by his side in Vietnam jungles warm
There was little regard to how war did us harm

By parachute dropped to a ghastly death scene
Johnny ached for the life left behind, so serene
His family, fiancé did not know what war means
Especially the haunting of lost children's screams

No ticker-tape parades, no welcome for us then
We were scorned as monsters, baby-killing men
Jeers from protestors and an uncaring government
Greeted the lonely Vietnam Veteran

No accolades received from a nation displeased
But we had not asked to be sent overseas
The rich sent their sons to universities
For families with wealth dodging the draft was a breeze

The "benefits" we found would astound all now
Homeless Vietnam vets still dwell amongst the crowd
And it leaves one to wonder how our hallowed ground
Could have so many unnamed graves of men once proud

I still see vets suffering disgraceful neglect
To say Vietnam wasn’t “war” shows no respect

Hey, Johnny Jump Up,
Mischievous elf,
Your look like Viola,
Not like yourself.
Same shape, same colors -
Before our eyes,
Your yellow and purple,
Quite the disguise.

Vibrant, bright colors
Painted on your five petals
Love, luck and happiness
Your gifts on us settles,
You love the warm meadows
And cool ocean breezes
Magician of summer
You won't make us sneeze.

Johnny sat bored at a swimming parade,
became thirsty watching the retrograde.
Dipped his head in the pool.

Premium Member Johnny Pete and Jolly Pete

Johnny Pete and Jolly Pete
Their marriage arranged in heaven,
Come sit here on the catbird seat.
Their marriage is number seven.

Johnny Pete never looked so good.
Jolly was a gorgeous summer bride.
Ceremony was everything it could be.
Witnesses all on Jolly’s side.

Johnny dragged in a street guy
To stand up with him that day.
Jolly got a tear in her eye
And he soon whisked her right away.

Jolly and Johnny had six little ones.
Juicy, Jimmy, Juanita, Johnny, Junior and Jay.
Two girls and four boys all born in the sun.
They were a handful, but fun in every way.

Smart Little Johnny

It's a real story that happened in one school
when a teacher appeared to be a complete fool.
Once when a teacher of math was sick
a teacher of physical education came, named Nick.
He wanted to show how intelligent he is
so he said: Solve my problem please!
- The car moves at a high speed.
To go to Spain a plane we need.
How old am I if the plane now is high in the sky?
- If to take all these tasks and mix
we’ll get the result: You are twenty six.
- Right you are Johnny!
Your arms are scrawny but brain is brawny.
How did you solve this problem so quick?
For me it’s easier to break a brick.
- Well, our neighbor being so sleazy is thirteen,
and my mum says that he is a semi cretin.

Premium Member Johnny Appleseed

Our old friend Johnny Appleseed
Was a bit of a kook all agreed
Always wore a tin pot on his head
Kept himself dry and also well fed

Johnny Appleseed was really John Chapman...he became the stuff of legends after his death.
He wandered the northeast planting appleseeds. The apples were used for apple cider or "spirits",
not for eating.

Johnny Got His Gun

Your patriotism leaves meat for the dogs,
Your religious hope has left a carcass for the road.
Pay your country with patriotism,
“Johnny grab your gun! ”
Now the world has a hero,
Rotting dead by the millions.
Defend the righteous from the infidels,
Grab your guns and rack lead straight through the flesh.
Now the world is safe for your Christ,
Now we can worship Allah in peace.

You did your religious duty,
You did your patriotic crap,
You slashed your way to power,
And left behind miles of bodies to rot and sour.

Look at the hero,
He murders for fame.
The religious senselessly bought his gain,
Though genocide was they’re game.
But it’s ok,
God ordered the blood to drain,
It takes the guilt away
Just to know that democracy is safe for gain.
A rotting carcass is a small price to pay,
Now the patriots can have they’re fame.

“Johnny grab your gun,
Become a hero and have some fun.”
A shell explodes, and his body scatters and runs,
But all that matters is that Johnny got his gun.
