Now that your spirit hovers in chilling night air
Can you find your way to offer me some insight
So many times I pledged my love to show I care
But your lack of response trepidation would ignite

If I could hold you once more, would you tell me now
Would you utter the words I longed so much to hear
Instead of leaving me hanging from love’s frail bough
You’ve passed from earth, but in my dreams you reappear

I see your lips moving and long to comprehend
Words that silently escape into the vast void
I reach for them and your death I try to transcend
Expressions in life that you never employed

Our hearts had been broken countless times before
Your actions showed love, but the words I needed more

Loving

Loving is to through a pebble into the sea
and the ripple become a wave
to plant a seed
and it become a tree
to cook a meal
and it become a feast
to build a house
and it become a home
to shine a light
and it become a beacon
to speak a name
and it impart trust
to see what lies benieth
what is seen on the surface
to hear the secrets
of the heart being told
to touch and give
comfort to a human being
to feel empathy instead
of sympathy in time of need
to let love be measured
by decades and deeds
where words are the least
of expressions of these
but summerize the tears, fears
and tongue of our God
a relationship with both
mate and Diety we laud
with works and prayers
love is more than words
it is the path we trod
love is a blanket
covered to keep warm
love is a needle
sewing socks while a fire burns
love is waking
before the break of dawn
love is baking and taking out
before it burns
love is a love note
found
during the day
love is thought
finding words to say
love is sometimes saying
"You can have it your way"
and love is duality in saying
"Lord give US this day"
where hell and high water
have no say
a sacred trust
in giving time away
love is forgiving all that
is abroad
love is not giving
that which belongs
to God
the only place to find this love
it is the place we call heaven
up high above

A Cyclical Life

Here in the heavy depths of insolent woes,
We gesture and talk and waste our time,
Staking claim to each minute of our earthly life,
Running the hours through a clock by the day,
Never sated, not content to find even love,
Buried deep inside the petals of a perfect rose.

So was a metaphor created from the rose,
Then plagiarized and used for all of time,
Simply here to represent the beauty of love,
A perfection to which we cannot aspire to in life,
Or even death, in the darkest of all those woes,
Great though they may seem by the passing day.

It's a fragile, soulful kind of love,
In the pressing presence of the breaking day,
Where your back breaks beneath ample woes,
And there just simply isn’t ever enough time,
To do what you plan to do with your life.
Then you start to resemble that rose.

Soft and delicate, with easy loss of life,
Mournful of the passage of time,
Counting down, day by dreary day,
Ever seeking out to find dear love,
The theoretical banishment of woes.
Such is the way of the deep red rose.

Has it ever occurred to us not to mark time?
Just to ignore it, along with any such woes,
Just to leap forth and enjoy life,
To live to the absolute fullest everyday,
And just as chosen by the poet's rose,
To find and hold on to, that one true love.

For I find, that it's mostly true these days,
That people don't make enough time,
For laughter and fullness in life,
So preoccupied with petty woes,
That they forget about the beauty of love,
And in doing that, they forget about the rose,

I know what the rose represents in my life,
And I work hard to expel my woes every day,
So that soon I will have time for true love.

A sestina is a highly structured form of poetry consisting of six six-line stanzas and a three-
line envoy (thirty-nine lines). The end words of the first stanza are repeated in varied order
as end words in the other stanzas and also recur in the envoy.

Echo

The lonely Echo lives in caves,
doomed to repeat her voice.
How sad it is she cannot speak,
but this was not by choice.

Once long ago in wooded hills,
gods cursed her chatty tongue
so she could only say again
words spoken or those sung.

She fell in love with Narcissus;
a love he would deny,
for she could only parallel
his words as her reply.

He denounced the woodland beauty.
She cursed his naked soul.
Now he could only love himself
and never hearts he stole.

From that time on she hid herself
in deep sequestered dells.
Her fading form has turned to rock.
Her voice is all that dwells.

If you hear the ghost of Echo,
the phantom of the air
and your last words repeat themselves,
you've found the maiden's lair!

Smoke Rings
If she wanted to stay he would make her a place,
for he loves ev'rything that she is,
and he'd willingly give all the world and the stars
for her love--if they only were his.

But he likes it alone, and in silence he knows,
if he wants, he can talk to the moon,
or hear voices at bars, or the children he loves,
and if wanting to go--he'll go soon.

Or to stay if he choose, for the night is still young,
but she's there, and he's wanting to say
all the words in his heart--but he's holding them back
and the night is much colder than day.

So he goes to someone who's no danger to ways
though he smiles, he is really not there
and he wants to forget, but he wants to live on,
if she stays or she goes, he will care.

And the one he is with, sees the love in his eyes,
and she knows it's not hers anyway,
but the ones' who was late, and the one who will go,
and the one he will never let stay.

If he asks and she stays, he'll go off the deep end,
and he knows she loves silence--as he;
and she stays for a while, til the silence is deep,
and the end is the end that must be.

But she looks at the floor when he wants her to see,
and she goes when he wants her to stay,
but the words are not there, and he watches her go,
with the thought that it must be this way,

but he smiles in his heart--for he's known her at least,
and he's loved--and has found love is good,
and the end that he feared, he prevented in life,
though he wonders if he ever should.

And the journey is long--he'll look back on her face,
and he'll think, many times, there it goes!
and he'll always regret; for it's always alive,
and she's part of his life, and he knows.

And the others who see--feel the same for their own,
and they wonder why he doesn't try,
but it's smoke rings they see; or a bird in their hand
that is wanting to fade in the sky.

And the sky will embrace ev'rything in the end,
and the things that we see are a mask,
and the smoke rings that fade to the will of the sky
are in love--and the sky didn't ask.

You'Re My Cup of Tea

Your sweetness tasted like cherries
Your smell scented like fresh strawberries
Your words filly as ripened bananas
Your act sour like my lemon trees
Long ago i was your good cup of tea
Long ago you were a star in my universe
my forever lover to be......
Dear baby you left on that plane,
promised me you'll be back again,
but words were just words...
dreams written in a whole book of vain,
It took me so long to get over the heartache
It took me so long to get over the pain.

I can still remember the end of December,
Distant phone call confirmed wedding
bells in cloudy September,ringing
bells for for you and your bride to be.
I faked a smile,a lady in style,Congratulatons
across the ocean, across much more than a mile,
You came back full of regret, stating
i'm the one you couldn't forget,NO Bells
in September,it passed and gone,but
dear baby i found New dawn,i'm
very sorry i had to move on...

Please dear Baby stop crying,
hot tears brushed my cheeks long before,
Just leave me alone!stop the knocks
knock knocking on my wooden door,i met
Somebody Special who loves me much
more.Dear baby go play in your cradle,
Your mami needs a papi today
a papi who doesn't like rattles,
a papi who 's too old t play

Yesterday i was your good cup of tea
and you were all that mattared to me...
That was Yesterday,i live for today!
Yes, baby that was Yesterday,Now
i've met somebody who looks only my way....
i'm in love with him,he's in love with me,
and we are to marry in the month of May

Sometimes, I think about my life
And the prices I have paid
All the places I have been
The choices I have made

Seems somewhere along the path
I stumbled upon a stone
At that moment I realized
I’d forgotten my way home

My home became a prison cell
My memory was forgotten
My soul was like an egg
An egg that had gone rotten

Sorry I had to go away
You didn’t deserve my shame
I moved very far away
No connection to my name

My life has always been a lie
One I kept hidden from you
When you thought I was in college
Serving time up in the zoo

On the day I was released
You thought I graduated
The moment you were most proud
Another lie to be hated

I have learned it’s never to late
I believe those words are true
Grandma I’m on a mission
I will graduate for you

I really want to earn the pride
You gave me so long ago
I think it will bring some peace
Releasing guilt up in my soul

I’ve learned in the game of life
We must earn our pride
Even if the people are gone
Resting on the other side

I’ve learned in the game of life
Even though they may be hard
Choices aren’t like rolling dice
They're not like flipping cards

Choices define who we are
I know these words are true
Every choice I know make
Are bringing me back home to you

Grandma, I know where heaven is
It’s right here inside my heart
Inside of mine your memory
Until death will never part

During the time I have left
I vow to always let it show
All the seeds you sowed in me
I shall nourish as they grow

In the end I’ll sit with you
Just like when I was a boy
We’ll sing and praise Jesus’ name
With eternal everlasting joy

Anne Murray did have quite the flurry, voice as a brook without crooks
Canadian born, songs of forlorn, beautiful vibes, I subscribed
Such singing as a bird, the world has never heard, she splurged
“O Little Snow Bird”, in the words I heard, calming of Vietnam

O spread your wings and fly away, words of God’s love I heard
Mind level love, forever untrue, so what’s new, `Tis festering spew
O but little snow bird, an alpine of cleansing snow, God’s Love
Spread your wings that brings, renewing, from festered spewing

Providing for me a way to go, by a cleansing snow
Innocence, a purity, of life’s promising security
Some leaders said only fate, this atrocity of hate
Maimed, lamed and defamed they came, to claim their bitter fame

State side they now abide, holding inside, Our leaders lied
Leaving the lamb of their souls in Nam, for uncle Sam
Atrocities, of hate, never abate, mind’s sickening fate
The Vietnam of late, laid at the mind’s creation of hell’s gate

O beauty of little snow birds, spread your wings, fly back this way
Cleans again, the glean of mind’s sin called fate, lain at heart’s gate
Like an alpine of purity, Love from Anne’s heart was sung
Maybe only to ease her own pain, but her timing was plain

The answer is blowing in the wings, of even a little snow bird
The such of which the mind of itself has never learn or heard
All humanity will not learn, but precious few will return
By their trust in Love, the snow white Dove, spewed forth from above

Anne Murray sang away I know, some of my own heart’s pain
Honoring all Vietnam veterans, be you not in fretters
From your hearts of security your love is your surety
Let your Alpine of pure snow bird, be Love’s word you’ve heard

Dane I am sure you’ve at least heard this song that this poem is about.
It somehow caused me to think of you, as I was writing it. Therefore
I dedicate it to you and all veterans for your service to our country.
Sincerely, Love, Moses

Two Halves of the Whole

Secret kisses in the dark make endless night seem bright;
Endless kisses from the heart, my mind and soul's delight.

I alone know the gift you bring of rose-resplendent light;
Alone I know the things you bring, that bring my smiles to life.

Soul-safe in your arms, and this darkness sinks from sight;
Holding you, caressing you, our spirits one in flight.

The colours you bring, hues of rhodonite and rubellite;
The songs you sing, soothing vibrations through indigo night.

A loving word, a tender touch, colours burst and ignite;
A look, a smile, a certain style, I crave with all my might.

A love inspired by the sensual words that you write;
Loving you could mean, to me, there is no wrong or right.

With our words combined poetic vision takes flight;
With our words entwined lovers' hearts unite.

The warmth you bring, a click, a love that feels so right;
The love you give, a click, comforts me every night.

Sending messages with my keys, hoping to excite;
Receiving messages from your keys, our hearts unite

When you touch me in tranquil amethyst twilight;
When moonlight touches us in the grey and blue of night.

Smile of Paradise

A bleeding heart sent me to bed
Tormented hot, by a lover's deception;
And in the folds of my blanket, cold as wet,
I sighed into sleep of sad emotions.

In such momentary somnolence,
I beheld this face in a blooming garden;
A dazzling beauty, dignified opulence,
Which radiated a smile so open:

And as the doves whispered, my heart bloomed in bliss-
That smile that eased suffering for which I wept.
And from her soft and renaissant lips, words fell at ease;
" Welcome to paradise," and in such smile,I blissfully slept.

                **************

I staggered from my dream in lamentation;
Questioning its end, a sudden event;
But that powerful smile began to register,
and the words " Welcome to paradise," oh! the reminder!

Forthwith I tumbled and wept to again behold
With a heart of bliss, that smile in heaven's fold-
So everyday I went to bed praying in cries:
" God, permit me behold for once that smile of paradise."

              **************

Three months later in windy spring
While I sadly tended my garden's hold,
I felt a breeze, softer than all its brothers, coming in sighs
And raising my head, I saw her plain, with that SMILE OF PARADISE.

My Love

As I lay at night, across my bed,
Thoughts roaming back to you.
I dream about what lies ahead,
Your smile, your eyes, sea blue....

Thoughts roaming back to you,
My love grows deeper still.
Your smile, your eyes, sea blue,
Brighten up my world so real....

My love grows deeper still,
With words you choose so sweet.
Brighten up my world so real,
You make my life complete...

With words you choose so sweet,
How could I deny your love?
You make my life complete,
Your a gift from God above....

How could I deny your love?
After all that we have shared.
Your a gift from God above,
Even though, we are so scared....

After all that we have shared,
Each day I love you more.
Even though, we are so scared,
These feelings we can't ignore....

Each day I love you more,
Recalling sweet words you've said.
These feelings we can't ignore,
As I lay at night, across my bed....

Karma

I watch the tears fall from your eyes, but then why am I mad? …This is the day I was
told about, they said I’d be happy, blissful, content, and victorious, so then why am I
sad…
Man, today I met a new side of me, I learned you could confide in me, and know that
your secrets are safe with inside of me, trying to weaken the soul that lies in thee,
but my heart is as wide as the sea. And I’m stronger than I ever thought I could be,
because I learned to forgive YOU, and to love ME!
So I wipe your tears and ask myself where is your strength… the strength that kept
me in complete darkness, provoked words of cold harshness, the times I CRIED and
YOU acted heartless, I let you guide me as though you were my compass, but you
chose to destroy me and feed off my weakness, leaving me to pick up the pieces and
tidy your mess. So if you’re wondering if I feel your pain, my answer is yes!
The pain you feel was a place I once resided in, so my only words of wisdom is take
this as life’s lesson, learn that things happen for a reason, ppl we think we know
change like the season, learn to fight your daemon. Don’t let this be a rerun, don’t let
your soul get beaten, train your mind not to weaken, don’t wallow in your sorrows,
forgive and forget and your life will sweeten……mines did!
I did, I moved on, forgave and forgot, and in turn I am grateful for all that I got. Road
out the waves, rolled with the punches, built back my strength, my emotions and
senses, brushed myself off when you threw me in the trenches. Drowned my
sorrows, faced all my stresses. And at the end of it all I made a few pledges.
I pledge to love me and put myself first, love me through hard times, down to my
worst. I pledge to forgive, we all make mistakes, I pledge to succeed and do
whatever it takes. Avoid all the foes, follies and fakes. Avoid stepping on skins of all
cobras and snakes. I shall not conform to gossiping and sin, because despite what
I’ve been through I choose to win. Do good on to others, be kind, be true, and your
hardship will cease, your sorrows will be few. Now wipe the tears from your eyes,
cuz you finally paid your due. You can run and you can hide but karma will always find
you!

Rsvp (For Mgh)

I've heard words falling from lips like petals
My poems praised like dead heroes
 For unbequeathed solacies
And sometimes a genius ask me where
Do the words from come from
Like drops of blood to stain a memory
 I smile
 Repress the bloom of agony
And wished if only they know

Every word is every drop me
 Nothing to waste
 Of images
Needling through the story like a cloth
 A tapestry of my pain,
Things lost that I never celebrated
 Things I cannot reclaim
Haunting me from an undead past
 Love burried
 Rumbling for a ressurection
Just to kiss the moon again.

 Drop by drop
The water falls from green leaves
That cannot drink the diamonds of their diadem
Taste it, without the salt of sea or blood
Heaven writes it poem in a flood
And I am the sea, I catch them all
The sorrows of the world brooding in me
 To peel your clothes away
And touch the delicacy of your skin
 Like memories touch
The portals of a pregnant day.

Once in a while I am a man
 A card will come
RSVP lettered in gold upon silk
 I show my face
Beside the blue of sea, a palm leftover
From the struggles with the storm.
 Once in a while
I write nothing but a tear
For the broken spell I had on you
 And wish like a poem
I could stain your heart with love.

Gossamer Wings

On gossamer wings
she floats through thoughts
of timeless dreams and
pages unturned.
Words written but left unread
for years as centuries
turn to new.
Her course was set
before her time,
now deep within
she feels her fragile heart
even as it breaks again.
New words to write of courage
or loss, or words perhaps of
gossamer wings that carry her
home.

Premium Member "walking Into Destiny" (A Collaboration With Michael J. Falotico)

I never planned to walk along the beach today…
Now I am glad my mind steered me this way…
Watching him sit there, lost in thought…
Evoked emotions, I was completely overwrought…

How do I get him to notice me?
How can a stranger make me weak at the knees?
Do I go for the cliché and send over a drink?
I have a weird feeling he might be my missing link…

Took a walk today on the local beach…
My pad in hand but my poem and words couldn’t reach…
So I stared out into the sea, hoping the right words to come to me…

And there walks a vision of beauty too far from me to touch…
I wonder, is she wearing a ring or is a broken heart her crutch…
Can’t let her go without a word or a funny line…
Maybe a cocktail or two if she gives the right sign…

I wonder should I make the first move…
He might think I am forward and disapprove…
My feet have a mind of their own…
Moving towards him, I can smell his cologne...

A simple hello can do no harm…
Who knows maybe my voice will work its charm…

She is moving closer and my nerves take a run…
The setting sun on her shoulders as the sky steels the sun…
Your smile glows as our eyes talk without saying words…
Then your accent finishes me off as soft words are heard…

Everything is a blur as you are the only clear sight…
My mind ponders just to hold you through the night…

Your smile a sign of our mutual attraction…
My simple “hello” a natural reaction…
As we sit across from each other…
I can’t imagine spending the night with another…
