A Bad Day At the Eye Doctor's- a True Story

"It was 6 or 7 years ago
Or so I'd like to think
I traveled to my eye doctor..
(I should'a seen a "shrink"!!)

My dad and I we awaited
In a filled up waiting room
Patients all a'seat
Magazines all askew
There wasn't much to say there
There wasn't much to do...

Slowly I did notice
Some odd glances made at me...
Some hand-covered conversations...
Some smirks I seemed to see

It made me feel self-conscious
They seemed fixed looking at me in my seat
When slowly I did realize...
That they were staring at my feet...

I looked down, and to my horror
And much to my surprise...
A sight I could not fathom...
I could not believe my eyes!!!

For one foot was well fitted
with tennis sneaker white...
The other a black dress shoe
It was a startling sight!!!

Now I found how hard it was
to hide one's mismatched feet
I wished to God to run out
And escape onto the street

I was red with great embarrassment
and shocked how stupid I could be!
Had I been that darn sleepy?
Or could I just not see?

Then it slowly dawned on me,
Well, darn it, here I sit....
Proves I need an eye-doctor...
and I don't give a sh__......."

You possess me with those eyes of pyromania
a tidal wave of temptation thrashing into my need for euphoria
romanticized on appetite for agile reckoning of kiss ravishing, harnessing my hysteria,
plumed with lashes lent from love's wings, curling wet wishing
brows preened sexy mean, fur strip stiring me,
hypnotized by your hot umber rings
I learn how suspense stings
circles of crave unbuckling my brazen brandishing,
deep set on my desire I'm unraveling for the vixen fire, heart sweating,
born from the brown of beauty's sweetest warmth
eyes that bite and suck the stress
right out of my soul's duress,
for you I go forth...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

You possess me with those eyes of eagle blue
you use a single glance my hesitancy to unglue
soaring in the sky of my sweetened fantasy
these blue crystal orbs foretell of ecstasy

But first...the hunt...looking for prey - it's true
it's you - the Eagle
brutally brave and fiercely famished
you glide on the wind of my desire
your wings ablaze with fire
your eyes fierce, Oh, how they pierce
again and again
my inner sanctum deep
their hue puts the sky to shame
demanding passion and cravings untame
they bore deep into me
slashing bonds of inhibition free
Our eyes speak
Brown and Blue
Me and You...
in your eyes the need to seize
in mine, the need to please
yours dominate
mine capitulate
yours subjugate
mine consummate,
your eyes speak...
mine respond...Bonded, we belong
Eagle and Dove
poetry love
Our eyes speak...

A Collaboration Made From The Quills Of Justin & Eileen

In a Blink of An Eye-Collaboration With Charmaine Chircop

Sitting on the window sill with the wind in my hair

I gaze up into the stars, pondering the great unknown.

Thinking back of that night, when I heard your first cry

tears of joy filled my heart as we carried you home.

Nervous and excited, a mother I had just become,

you were my angel, my being, my son.

You were all that I dreamt of, from my lungs, pure breath.

In the cradle I rocked you, before going to bed.

With gurgles and babbles you have filled up our lives.

With first footsteps, first mouthfuls, with sweet little rhymes

With first schooldays, first friendships, first free little moves,

Like doing your homework, and tying your own shoes

We followed your shadow from a distance not far,

giving you your wings, yet knowing where you are

The time has passed by, in a blink of an eye,

Soon you'll be leaving, making this mother cry.

Ocean Eyes

Walking all night
On the glittering wet sand of a sea shore..
In the shadows of twinkling stars..
Through a silver airial fabric
of a tiny waning Moonlight

Till the sun begin to rise
fom within the lap of distant crimson waves..
And gently start ascending to the magical sky...
With scattered purple clouds...

For this spectacular sight
Ocean halts and transforms to mirror
To wholly reflect the colours of Dawn
From its redish wine waves...

Wow, his view is like a pupil on the blue
Sun Ball far away on the horizon
Sea acts like the lower lash
While the sky like the upper one
With the magic of tiny pieces of hued clouds

Sublime!!
Perhaps a glimpse of big bang...
Or a corner of heaVen...

Eternity in every moment..!

I can offer you sympathy,
try to feel you through empathy.
But if you take it for granted,
silence will be your remedy.

Remember the seeds you planted,
when unnourished will bloom slanted.
Hearts yearn for balanced devotion,
like birds sharing what they chanted.

When there is too much commotion,
tears seem to fall in slow motion.
Will you give my soul an embrace,
try to sense its deep emotion?

Ego only portrays disgrace.
Some actions are hard to replace.
Judgement is harshly negative.
Selflessness should be your showcase.

When the conscience seems tentative,
your heartbeats become expletive.
But if you've helped quench someone's thirst,
the thoughtful become sensitive.

Before the heart and soul immerse,
the eyes observe compassion first.
Awareness brings sweet harmony.
A purpose that should be well versed.

Eye Candy

Double Acrostic

I just want to mention before you read this poem that "Oasis" by Charmaine Chircop
allowed me the inspiration to write this. Thoughts had been swirling through my mind
for about 24 hours and I was having difficulty finding the form to express them. Those
of you that know me know that I favor difficult forms rather than plain Freestyle.
Thank you Charma, It is good to be back!!

Eye Candy

Erratic, heart thrusting through my chest!
Yoga is in session, followers in succession!
Edible delights without excess embellishment.

Core poses carve, define rippled mid-sections
Anxiety has subsided, muscles relaxed. Objective,
Nurture those curves! Endure tension, calm her nerves.
Durability, her gift is my defection. Connection, A fifteen
Year friendship and we are both free agents!

When the sky is a
   sequestered sanctuary,
and the clouds croon
for sinking star-beams,
listen to the euphoric hymns of silence,
for seething storms throned
beneath rainbow castles
shall never obscure the
crystalline colors of compassion,
amidst thickened fangs
of dwelling darkness,
constantly trying to
     seize peacock pigments
within violet-blue seas
     of sequined sentiments…

O’ beloved white rose~
perfumed in vanilla love,
let not the wolf-spider gaze,
mirroring envy within black widow hearts,
  confuse your diamond vision.
It’s just another day,
enveloped in a warm sakura sunrise,
there the gales of greed
   looming in ghostly flecks,
question the redolence of rivulets
   behind your veiled vigor.

There’s no reason to fear
  when hope flows and drifts
like comets flying as fluttering butterflies
across the butterscotch horizon.
Remember, when the sage sun
seeps into foggy crevices,
and deserted dunes
   speak in ashen accents,
their choice of words do not define
the rhythm of your seraphic symphony.
Your merlot wine spirit is
the whimsical wand turning unspoken
  tales into wildflower wishes.
There’s no need for an alchemist
  nor a sorcerer to concoct
spells that rearrange constellations,
as your voice swirls in magical mists.
You and I, are every last thing
we need to conquer the bewitching
     perimeters we truly deserve.

Tonight, when my lids rest upon the
dreamscape of daffodils and dahlias,
I see that look in your eye.
I ponder, is it me that you long for?
Am I the unfading ink
   within your saccharine sonnets?
I yearn to be the one you talk
about in sweet seclusion.
This trembling canvas longs
for no other skin to caress the acrylic
 edges of my aching soul,
and I do not need
the wind and water
    beneath whistling willows
    to write my destiny
             in green and gold.

We don’t need shades of shadows
following our intertwined silhouettes,
yet I let these metaphors
merge with the heat of
 your passionate presence,
as you and I break through
the landscapes of grief
  with mutual attraction
  like the mulberry rays
         between the moon and earth..

The Right Eye Removed

"The Right Eye Removed"

intuition guides a feline mind
to feel vain glorious
in the poetry of dreams
stretching limits of awareness
velvet pawed
a burnt orange
bittersweet marmalade coat
delicious to kiss
the point between
the ears that listen for signs
mink stole he wears
himself striped around my neck
finding new ways
to purr through his dark night
into the mystery of
his opaque opalus opallios world

his left analytical
glistening topaz
prehistoric amber
shines like glass
black iris blooming
in a pool of honey
questioning ideas
that run through his
greyhound strides
the right eye removed
bone white phantom oculus
poached out by a thief
with a pad, pen and
surgically precise knife
drugged on strong catnip
the discarded damaged marble
thrown in a bin overnight

he works his way around
this bad romance
feels the colours of light
he is sensually sincere
licking necks and ears
and the other's eyes
twin forest jade stones
the foreign ponds
of something new
holding tight

this kamikaze pilot
flying across high rise cupboards
treasure boxes to plunder
tricky to navigate
he is immersed in a new life
the changing colours
of a small heart
with big dreams
romancing streams of
rainbow koi seen in his mind
he is a Japanese ninja warrior
a good luck token
protector of Moonlight
and ground zero
the bed…that he has claimed,
all his

and he is loved
perfection in
the damage of
the war zone delivered
to him at birth
he is free to wonder
and he wanders
this brave and distinguished hunter
preying with delight
he bows on all fours

he stops still
and in the reflection
that is left

I look at him
and I see

we are two
of one mind
searching
for the same
all along

am I her’s,
or is she mine

am I his
or is he mine

it no longer matters
old souls

we belong
in this time

ado the realms that I have plunged with phrase
they have no shape - no bound'ries or expanse
some wend in heaven's dreams or hell's malaise
     thoughts sown a demon's kiss or angel's dance ...

such myst'ries there are born from matter, gray
those maelstroms wend the mind's complexities
what seems dark and chaotic through its sway
works fierce to find the beauty each eye sees ...

while wordsmiths tend to stretch upon the rack
of flow'ry phrase, for sake of bloom and breaths
there's far more dire concern with candor's lack
than all the horror wrought ten thousand deaths ...

please don't misunderstand these words of mine
true eloquence is birthed through grain OR chaff
with thoughts that bare the soul in grand design
and swell dear hearts that break on their behalf ...

pray, deign to think me common, though I was
dear love's sweet fool, a million times too much
and though I'd trade my loves for verse's cause
     the dearest poem can't trump ... a woman's touch.

Premium Member My oblivious eye

Here on the cusp of all things, is where I succumb
Ceding my stuff blindly, toward oblivion and none
Unwilling to persevere, without a modicum of fun
Listing in perpetual stasis, til the spasm’s undone

And yet a god may save me, or a talisman of love
Some prophet of euphoria, quelling ennui thereof
Placing good tidings, into a universal equation
Edifying eternity…..revealing its exact duration…..

Alas he speaks in riddles, and treads a mobius strip
Each cycle forming a twist, convoluting his trip
Determined I follow, my awareness in collapse
Narrow-mindedly stumbling into mortality traps

Now I sense the endgame, but decline to exalt
Its a distortion, an abortion, a cataclysmic fault
Chance meeting with a nihilist, yields positive results
Unable to see past zero, he reveals nothing but cults

Here on the cusp of all things, is where I begun
A contorted brain-f*ck, had no choice but to come
A demon of clarity, with an open ended measure
One who gives to please, but prefers taking pleasure

To believe for one moment, I’d live off a dying spark
Only denies potential, when again life goes dark
With more light to come, my sunglasses prepared
Eternity’s not polarised, just infinitely layered

If a blind man articulates, I’ve seen all this before
Screaming and convinced “I’m a seer at my core”
Could be he’s mistaken, or deluded with Déjà vu
Begs his final question, “do I have a point of view”?

Premium Member Flesh That Virtue Takes

The glass chatters, clanks, and shatters
As it hits the ground
But makes no sound
The only thing heard is the
Screams of pain
As I get hit into the glass
Blood everywhere
Pain unbearable
The ripping of flesh
Cracking of bones
Screams of pain
Yet no one hears the screams
No one to save me
From this nightmare
From that thing
Evil and putrid
Bragging of his virtue
But he’s hurting me
Ripping my skin
Breaking my bones
No one can hear my screams of pain
Why can’t they hear me?
Does virtue truly block others from seeing the torment before them?
Does it make its followers so blind they cant see the bruises?
Does it make its followers so deaf they can’t hear me begging for mercy?

When the silk of night falls upon my skin,
I close my eyes,
unlock the heart of stillness,
as thoughts sleep at the back of my breath,
and wordless light
wakes within the pulse,
a lucid awakening ~
tracing tranquility,
for I am nameless,
undisturbed and untouched,
by the ghosts I once followed,
like jasmine among wild violets,
like lotus among forgotten reeds,
thornless and fragrant,
in sync with the
frequencies of the formless cosmos,
sprinkling stardust
upon my crystalline consciousness,
calming the racing thoughts
that once controlled
              the motion of emotions…

O beloved,
feel these feverish fingertips,
forsake the labels hung
across my sky of healing,
as in this mindfulness,
I abandon the emptiness of ego,
to embrace the pristine presence
of hyacinth haze,
the ethereal gaze of your purified aura,
where love and light
moves slowly into
the musicality of meditation…

Tonight, I see beyond the seeing,
and dream within dreams,
to walk through astral ropes
to a place where
there is peace and quietness ~
silence that sings and wraps
this soul in rainbow radiance,
a petrichor of rising rays,
where memory holds no misery,
and the mind homes
the musky mists of clarity,
detached from darkness
erasing the cluttered noise,
and that which dragged my
silhouette to the dusk…

So feel me,
I am the kundalini light
and the magical mirror that
reveals the gossamer glow of gold,
for I seek nothing,
but thoughtless awareness,
sitting in my muted orbit,
like a blooming flower
facing the phases of the moon
with resilience and patience,
    silence, my saffron salvation
         serenity my sanguine sanctuary,
this zen ~ my zealous zephyr …
