Best Eternity Poems
In Such Intense Flames, An Eternity May Be Born
Hold your dreams, bind them with rainbow beams
tumble sweetly and let heart's passion arise
sow the seeds that love gives passion's great might
that Life and Love both gift oft in joyful surprise.
With that deep ardor born from Love's treasure chest.
Sing soul's worth and honor thy lover's greatest request.
Embrace those blessings that truest romance bestows
caress them with care and taste their honey sweet
let spring forth, memories that forever shall live
for gems of purest love, never suffer indignant defeat.
With that deep ardor born from Love's treasure chest.
Sing soul's worth and honor thy lover's greatest request.
Chase your heart's desire, revel in its glorious touch
kindle such heat, stoke fantasy and its hottest of fires
for in such intense flames, an eternity may be born
even after glow of passion's saddest of funeral pyres.
With that deep ardor born from Love's treasure chest.
Sing soul's worth and honor thy lover's greatest request.

Rhyme, ( Looking Back, Ages Ago)
Poet's Note- Dedicated to my great friend and writing partner, Susan Ashley.
Inspired by and composed after my reading of Susan Ashley's superbly crafted new poem titled, The Glory Of The Eastern Edge. Thank you dear friend for seeding this burst of early morn writing.
This revisiting of the romantic imaginations of my youth- reminds me now of the immense love and great blessings of my beloved wife Riza and the most cherished blessing of our beloved son Justin.
What once was lost, much later has been found..
Sunshine glitters across the water
in a tireless playful motion, and
a dreamy hypnotic music of eternity
ripples on through my nights.
I close my eyes, transported to a dock
of my youth where soothing waves
greet me, enticing me, inviting me, rocking me.
And I abandon myself to the lullaby
that could just as easily be the arms of a lover.

Alas, I stand atop this mountain crest,
and gaze upon the valley down below;
the graveyard where your body lays at rest,
sits in the center shadowed by plateau.
My sad heart aches with every breath I take;
I wonder why I’m made to bear this bane,
and live a life that’s cruel and opaque,
while trying hard my teardrops to restrain.
This awful illness claimed your life so soon,
while you and I were living in our prime;
the heavens haled you, leaving my life strewn
across this wasteland, sadly out of rhyme.
‘Tis but a step across this steep degree,
and I will join you in eternity.

God Stands
When dust and time blot out my name;
And I rise to unknown strands,
And the whole world melts with fervent heat.
God Stands!
When the planets cease their movement;
Round the bright and shining sun,
And the elements blend together,
God has just begun.
When we lift our song together;
With flaming Angel bands,
On the tenth day of forever;
God Stands!
When kings and priests and armies;
Are crumbled in the dust.
When tanks and planes and rockets.
Have been consumed by rust;
When all our great intentions;
And all we think we know;
And all our brave ambitions,
Melt like winter snow.
God stands upon the silken rims;
Of time and infinity.
The stars are His pillows;
And endless space his sea.
When all we know and love are gone,
Our earth and sea and land,
When the elements melt with fervent heat.
God Stands!
We Had Time, Eternity Or So We Thought
We had time, eternity or so we thought
days of sunshine, picnics in flowering fields.
In life and in love, nothing more ever sought
on and on, our raging love forever builds!
We had time, eternity or so we thought.
In life and in love, nothing more ever sought.
We had time, eternity or so we thought
you with great beauty that would never fade.
In life's great illusion we both were caught
forgetting we were mortal flesh and bone made!
We had time, eternity or so we thought.
In life and in love, nothing more ever sought.
Yes, about that time we both thought secure
those summers, when bliss came with the winds.
We swam in love, its clear waters so pure
treasured times awaiting around the bends!
We had time, eternity or so we thought.
In life and in love, nothing more ever sought.
Yes, about that illusion we both held so dear
did we not see and hear its silent cracks?
More breaks in our shield that allowed in world's fear
with tragedy following up our well worn tracks?
We had time, eternity or so we thought.
In life and in love, nothing more ever sought.
Yes, about past fantastic times of love's bliss
romance and its magnificent joys we had.
You and I shall hold onto that first sweet kiss
give thanks for blessings, no longer be sad.
We had time, eternity or so we thought.
In life and in love, nothing more ever sought.

Find In Our Eternity, Sweet Love
Find in my Heart,
cast away misdeeds never to be embraced
Find in my heart,
a love of you that can never be erased
Find in this Soul,
a friend so gladly embracing all of you
Find in this soul,
true lover that forever loves all you do
Find in my Dreams,
golden paradise I built for your pleasure
Find in my dreams,
a deep love, gentle and without measure
Find in my Desires,
gentle touch, a touch of your pretty face
Find in my desires,
nights seeing you dressed up in black lace
Find in my Life,
a sworn oath to your deep love be true
Find in my life,
to each bright morn, our deep love renew
Find in our Eternity,
a golden palace made just for you and I
Find in our eternity,
united love, as great as a Heavenly sky

note: I failed to write my darling wife her daily poem yesterday(first time in ten years).
So she being playful demanded I write a double good one this fine morning.
I hope this effort will do. If not, then I am lost as this came directly from
my loving heart to her, my sweetest sunshine, my darling wife.
He reached his fingers to the stars
willed his legs to move
forced his head so far back
that in his body's arc
his dance's bridge
allowed sunlight particles
(elated faeries)
to traverse
He saw his lean lithe body
pirouette and position,
ran screaming from one side to the next
in a perpetual wish to catch
that last step, that last grand
pointe, to capture small smiles
for infinity in his psyche
He said adieu to his last dance;
farewell to the music
only his ears could capture,
goodbye to a world of ballet
his choreography no longer
visible, but still resonating
in time and space where
once he moved.

She couldn't contain her rhapsody demeanor much more
hugging her husband and gushing with excitement as he closed the door
the third class cabin was modest but she thought it would do
finally spending time together in this steerage cabin room
After dining together and playing cards with some other passengers
they retired to their cabin and did some reading till their eyes tired
then they spooned together in the darkness of the room
and made passionate love being they were on their honeymoon
Sound asleep till they we're abruptly awaken by a violent jarring
finding out from people running about it was from an icebergs scarring
throwing on their overcoats they we're thrown two lifejackets
and fought their way up to the top deck amidst all the panic
Their weary eyes saw the last lifeboat being lowered down to the ocean
many brave men staying behind waving trying not to show emotion
the newlyweds hugged each other while their faces wept
about to go down with the ship into the fathomless depths
They held hands while trying with all their might to hold on and grip
as the ship rose up perpendicular making them and others slip
the ship now offered nothing but quietus to the passengers on board
as they both plummeted in slow motion down to the ocean floor
Some survivors in the Titanic lifeboats watched with pitiful awe
while others who lost loved ones lost control and bawled
the ones who lost many possessions tried not to show too much enmity
while the newlyweds love story would last for all eternity.

We found sapience in our sagacity, * * * *
true ROMANCE in our delicacy- * * * *
No matter what happens to us, ------ * ------------------->
I know your tide will set me free. * *
For there is a flame and it’s been lit, * *
ignited by the KINDLE of you and me. * *

Craving of each other in weakness,
for you are my only sweetness-
Sanctified and holy with truth,
with you I’ve found completeness.
Your deep CHESTNUT eyes have made me see,
and they’ve been bound by the VOW of ETERNITY.
Sorrow has come and gone with ease,
may this sincerity never cease-
With you I’ve found a TRUSTED companion,
someone who makes me fall to my knees.
We found sapience in our sagacity,
IGNITED by the kindle of you and me.
Cupid’s arrow VOW of ETERNITY.

This poem is so meaningful to me. I have been with my hubby since I was 16 years old, I am now 39. After being married for almost 17 years, I have found that our vows are definitely for eternity.

God gave a promise to us,
that our children would be more than the stars in the sky
He would give us life abundantly;
multiplying and expanding without end,
vast and innumerable will God's family be
Children of eternity
Be we have not all been faithful
to believe this holy vow of promise
Selfish desires possesses the wayward souls,
careless pleasures are all some seek ...
bodies addicted to sexual stimulations
Unwanted seeds conceived in beds of lust
are taken to the high priestess Noitroba,
and placed on the sterile altar in her temple of death
Drink the chemical poison,
wither the life within
Twice dead ...
make the dying womb barren again
Life was given unto them,
but they, selfishly, refuse to give life to someone else
Pleasure seekers, sex slaves
Chained to carnal desires
They love to indulge in acts of procreation,
but they hate to taste of the fruit it produce
They spit out the seeds
Where are their children,
where are their children's children?
They possess no Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
a dry tree is their DNA spiritual makeup
So many empty vessels containing no seeds of life
The children of eternity will still sprout into existence,
though some have tried to turn God's fertile truth into a barren lie
God gave a promise to us,
that our children will outnumber all of the stars in the sky
Your laughter dances like the morning breeze,
A gentle balm that heals my hidden pain.
Your touch, a summer's kiss upon the trees,
Brings life to places cold as winter's reign.
Within your gaze, a universe unfolds,
A symphony of stars that brightly gleam.
In your embrace, my weary soul finds hold,
As if the world exists within a dream.
Each whispered word ignites a tender spark,
A language only hearts in love can know.
You light my path when all around is dark,
And teach my soul the way it yearns to grow.
Forevermore, our hearts shall beat as one,
Bound by the light of love that ne’er is done.
a kiss
upon the lips
can linger
in memory
a kiss
upon the heart
touches
a kiss
upon the soul
can never
be erased
To an unmet friend:
You see the mortal world
and for you man is machine,
little more than a device
for the vagaries of evolution.
Faith is illusion, hope lacks
weight-- and love? Can love
be other than mere sex,
nature's sole mandate?
And your science now tells
you: what can I ever know?
All is quantum topsy-turvy,
mother nature being part
whore, part illusionist....
Your thinking breaks all
down to little pieces,
and nothing matters
as matter is all while
science the only god
left for us to worship.
And we are nothing,
not even dreams
anymore, just bits
and pieces to be
examined, classified,
and then ignored--
for science is all,
and faith but a
refuge for fools.
You are honest,
I know-- you see
yourself as just
another machine,
destined for decay.
then destruction--
your sentience but
a cruel joke told
yet again-- and
no one laughs.
You and I,
we breathe,
we think,
we live, but
you would stop
at death while
I begin there....
I sing to the Eternal:
quell not my songs
as they rise above
the sad despair born
of your vacant world
and follow myriad stars
streaming their wondrous
light in the vast dead-cold
Universe....
I sing to Eternity,
I sing to my Soul.
[poet's note: I put this as the 1st poem in my 1st book, 'The Enormity of Existence' because I think of this poem as coming out of something I experienced in 1971 as a 24 year old when I almost drowned in the Winooski River in Vermont. I was like that 'unmet friend' before I went into that river: certain of my nihilism, believing only matter was real--no God, no soul, no meaning to life. For 1/2 a century I've had more questions than answers, but I do know that what we perceive as 'reality'--with our limited senses and limited intellects-- is not 'Reality'....]
I hear sounds of the wind hissing and rustling.
I listen on the beach to the waves cascading,
Slapping, tossing swashing the sand pebbles,
Something close to eternity within me touches.
I see some gliding fishing boats over there,
The seagulls soaring, gliding in the air here,
And Surfers trying to get rides on the waves
Something close to eternity within me touches.
I watch people running, strolling and sunning,
Setting sun promise to rise tomorrow morning
Like the human ambitions and unknown desires
Something close to eternity within me touches.
I notice the crabs scurry, somewhere hiding,
Leaving smooth bed of sand, water receding,
All sounds now receding to its minimum hiss.
Something close to eternity within me touches.
This silence rubs, softens me, gives a purpose
I find even my pains are held in this silence
Surrender my self-importance, my smallness
Something close to eternity within me touches.

I woke to the sound of sizzling bacon, the aroma of fresh baked Muffins and my Beautiful Lenore in her bright green Teddy. "Nubbies", I said, "what time is it." Lenore said" for You it is 3:30P.M., June 27th, 2013. You are in the O.R. at Dartmouth Hospital. For me it is time to bring YOU to Eternity for a short time."What are You talking about; Baby." I died last night before we had time to go to the Bridal Suite. I do not want You to go through that pain again. Please come with me to the railing on the starboard side of the ship."Below the shuffle board deck?""Nubbies, just
trust me." As we walked outside, I noticed there was no air,no breeze, no sea lapping against the side of the boat, the sun seemed pasted in the sky. Where is Mom and Dad;where's my Ma, Where is everybody? Harry we are frozen in time, for last night and today; never happened for you. I asked the Lord to give us this time together. I was 3 months pregnant when I said "I DO" I want you to see JoAnne Naomi Grow up. Now
Full Moonlight Stand on the railing with me and when I say 3; Jump. 1, 2, 3. You would think we would plummet into the Caribbean Sea, but we splashed into the Full Moon. The sun was warm, the birds sat on my shoulders, singing a song of Life Forever. The Peace, Serenity and Tranquility was unearthly. I then saw GOD and the Son of Salvation hugged me and in a Mezmerizing Voice said Welcome Home.
