Notes About The Poem

Eternity In His Mind

He reached his fingers to the stars
 willed his legs to move
forced his head so far back
   that in his body's arc
    his dance's bridge
     allowed sunlight particles
      (elated faeries)
       to traverse

He saw his lean lithe body
     pirouette and position,
ran screaming from one side to the next
in a perpetual wish to catch
that last step, that last grand
 pointe, to capture small smiles
for infinity in his psyche

 He said adieu to his last dance;
  farewell to the music
   only his ears could capture,
goodbye to a world of ballet
     his choreography no longer
      visible, but still resonating
       in time and space where
        once he moved.

This is incredibly beautiful and sad. I hope from the bottom of my heart Darren that one day 'the other side' will be part of this reality, not just a dream.:) Amitiés

I'm not sure I'd call it "cute" but it is moving and full of rich passionate depth. "Farewell to the music only his ears could capture" is my favorite line. Beautiful

My friend this was written so well but the thread of sadness I feel is overwhelming to me. I will not go into details but this really touched me. Your writing is amazing and your talent dances all over this page.

Good Morning Beautiful Darren. This is over the top with stunningness and exquisiteness. I read your words with honor and thankfulness. You know how to capture your reader. He may had said adieu to his last dance physically but he will never say adieu in his mind and is his dreams. May the flight live on in all fantasies. This is so beautiful and emotional too. Well done in its entirety Darren. Honestly. I hope today is a good day for you, how are you doing?

Good morning Lisa! I am so happy you love mu dance poem. I know I often write about it, but it had been and still is such an important part of my life. And as long as I can find beautiful words to write about ballet, I guess I will :) Today is the first day I am starting to feel better, that kames me happy, thank you for asking my friend.

Intriguing write Darren, I will return after I get more sleep, can further absorb and hit play without waking my hubby, a retired contemporary dancer with whom I want to share this. Hope you are well. Warm thoughts & hugs, mo
