Almost all of us will face -at one time or another -
Dire circumstances dragging us into a deluge of misery.
Eluding woe is not an easy thing to do.
Less so for those quite disabled or born into extreme poverty.
Unless we are unusually lucky,
Grief will come and often as a gush engulfing us.
Enduring pain is mankind’s destiny.
Curtailing pain and sorrow, however, is
Our ultimate boon.
Multitudes of us each day see misfortune come our way.
Entirely expelling it is not God’s plan.
Surviving well, with faith and positivity, we learn empathy; we grow!

It came from all sides;
above, sideways, front and back. It swept
so fast as though it was being attracted
by something.
They didn't know their brains worked
like a heart; pumping in
and pumping out.
Their brains pumped out animosity,
indifference and narcissism
to their lovers, children,
neighbors, and strangers,
only to pump in a deluge of regrets;
it had wars, genocide, racism,
and religious intolerance
drifting in it.
They all helplessly knelt down,
as the dark mass came tumbling
towards them....

“The Lord of Armies says this: These people say: The time has not come for the house of the Lord to be rebuilt.” Now, the Lord of Armies says this: “Think carefully about your ways…”
Haggai 1:2,5 CSB
THE DELUGE OF DEW
the deluge of dew
withheld by God of Armies -
temple in ruins
the God of Armies spoke
to remnant through the prophet -
they feared and obeyed
God’s pleasure to bless
as he guides His flock with love -
think of all His gifts
what are they you ask -
grain, new wine, fresh oil, ground’s yield,
the sun and the rain
and there is much more
but we’re not to be selfish -
what’s been neglected?
-- Just a bit of silliness --
"Baissez le rideau, la farce est jouee..."
---- Daumier
39 & 1/2 days had passed;
the rain had lessened.
Noah, grungy and grumpy,
paced the wet deck
like a caged Lion of Judah.
Reading the Odyssey by blubber-light,
Jonah, a free-thinker, cruised
in his whale below; he marveled,
captainishly, carefully pronouncing
the unfamiliar Greek, an uninvented
tongue he couldn't speak.
Ham, an adherent to all the dietary
restrictions, was relieved
at the journey's almost-close.
Consultation of the Holy Books
had proved he wasn't kosher
and, therefore, could not be served.
Still, Shem and Japhet eyed him oddly.
They had a lean and hungry look.
The wives, sensible lot,
cleaned the kennels, did the chores
and tried to keep an even keel
in the anachronistic mess.
They drifted onward,
tired of fishing fruitless waters,
doubtful now of being made
fishers of men.
All things considered, it was
a perfectly normal situation:
men were mystics
and women staid and sturdy workers.
And yet, Ararat, still beneath the waters,
may not have been the only futuristic
structure in this grey, flat
seascape.
Our Earth weeps waves of falling tears-
with hope, each one will be her last
to wipe away climatic fears
from air pollutants that amass.
The floods are triggered by her pain;
her deluge of emotions pour
in torrents of a drenching rain
to wipe the slate and start once more.
She is a living, breathing thing,
this lovely mother, we call Earth.
But atmospheric poisons bring
concerns to heal with clear rebirth.
The air is washed, the oceans rise,
with cleansing tears, her deluge creeps.
Disaster goes against her will;
she, driven by renewal, weeps.
With hope, each one will be her last
to wipe away climatic fears
from air pollutants that amassed;
our Earth weeps waves of falling tears.

"Air pollution can cause more droughts and floods, a new long-term study has discovered. The research from top scientists studying a decade of atmospheric data has shown how cloud and weather development are affected by aerosols in the atmosphere...the dust, soot, and additional particulates can produce intense rain, snowfall, and severe storms..." www.earthtimes.org
Submerged in intense emotions he keeps n a v i g a t i n g into the deluge…
It was him who moved forward into the overwhelming ocean,
he reacted out of determination when he set out to do what was right-
O v e r f l o w i n g with remarkable demonstration, full of emotion,
Noah built an ark and faced a storm for FORTY days and FORTY nights.
Two by two animals and family, God had told him to carry in his ark,
a storm so s t r o n g brewing but Noah was raised to be righteous-
Day upon day and unable to navigate it was so spate and dark,
but this PATRIARCH was full of persistence and was bravely courageous.
Waters e n g u l f e d the land so steep the mountains were covered,
a storm so furious killing all living creatures still left on earth-
As Noah looked into the raging sky he knew the bluster had hovered,
but deep down understood this TEMPEST would bring novel re-birth.
In inundation the deluge immersed and the ark kept r e s i s t i n g,
cattle and stock fearing the gushes of water profusely pouring inside-
They were not used to being with other species and coexisting,
but the flood was so a t r o c i o u s they had nowhere to run and hide.
After the s u r g e s cleared and daybreak arose with hues so pleasant,
the ark pulled up to the shore but there was nothing left to seek-
The livestock and humanity walked off quite wet and EXTREMELY hesitant,
just then a white dove flew in with a God sent olive branch in his beak.
Submerged in intense emotions the d e l u g e navigated
him into fresh pastures.

take one drop of rain
multiply it; speculate,
all that emotion
a little that gives so much,
if only that it was love.

Innocents tremble in terrible terror
witnessing mankind’s deluge of errors.
Violence grows as a sure hate spreader,
intent on humanities' ultimate sever.
A barrage of plastic politicians with greedy minds
focus on leaving justice long lost and behind.
Modern media’s constant torrent of drama
drags good people down inside insipid trauma.
Landlords, bankers, grocers and their names
Disappeared behind campaigns for corporate gain.
Focused on leaving all people monetarily lame,
Corporations score God second to financial gain.
The world has grown unrecognizable.
Universal fairness may never know arrival.
Stupidity and apathy diseases worldwide spiral
as brotherhood, religion and ethics lose disciples.
Through virgin blue glass,
alabaster wraiths admire
jade jewels of luster.
Driving a desert road
touring the landscape
discovering a new world
Overwhelmed by the sight of
rocky gorges and sheer plateaus
striking with bands of white, yellow, orange, and red
fading in a blur of shimmering heat
A brilliant strobe of light flickered
lightning flared up in the clouds
the roar of kettledrums struck
followed a couple of heartbeats afterwards
The roar jolted me out of my seat
Without warning clouds start rolling in
opening up with pounding rain
zero visibility, where to pull over

True story, about 12 years ago in Arizona on monsoon season, another reason I hate thunder……
tall pines lean
they point to the path
of the storm
After spring’s deluge,
dawn rains down with brilliance as
the meadowlark trills.
Long ribbons of pastel hues
form an arc across blue sky.

"a deluge coming" 7/20/11
there i stood,
….out in the rain
umbrella full of holes
perforated like a shower drain
… the rain..
. . . . .
. . . .
. . . . . .
. . . .
. . . .
. . . . .
…dripping down my face
why bother, i would say
……………………………………
so i stood
while droplets glazed my face
,"where are you?"
i would say
as i slowly turned to clay
. . .and felt the putty in my throat
begin to weigh
as the moisture stayed
a stillness parged my voice
there is a deluge coming,
i would say ………………….
,"where are you?"
just come . . . . .
be my sun
Nature's havoc....the deluge of destruction....
Human life is such a fragile expression....
Lives depart with the ceaseless downpour....
& with every passing moment, the melancholy is more....
Innocent urchins....old-age-fellows
Pregnant mothers...missing...or who knows...?
It takes ages for a civilisation to be built....
But yeah,it can end without any clue of guilt....!
Let us help the needy with all we can....
Even if you have nothing, your wishes matter, O man,
When our Saviour turns a destroyer with Power...
Only prayers & wishes can help us in this hour....
Succour & support....actions of unity....
Can undo the effect of Nature's hostility....
Let us mourn for those lost souls & together promise....
We will walk hand in hand with "an unified wish"....!
Ran; they were running up the hill.
Sea was rising to level unseen
I sat in my old shabby car,
All terrified of what it could be.
I floated in it and was stuck among branches.
The water receded, I was saved, might be.
My eyes opened to “Happy Birthday to you”,
The chorus held me in dismay.
They laughed as they never did.
I smiled stiffly and hugged them fast.
“Noah’s day, would it be?”
Was it a predilection, my dream?
By afternoon, we celebrated my day.
All were lost in merriment and they
Laughed drunk, as thunder roared
And rain became more intense.
Someone busy on network, shouted.
Still silence: each gaped at the other;
Never heard before: the capital was
All in flood since some hours and
People were running to safety
While underground parking and tunnel
Were pools of death; people perished
Shrieking for help till their last breath!!

Contest: A Deluge (Julia Ward)
A real tragic event on 30th March 2013 (eve of Easter) in Mauritius
and I had a dream some days ago and forgot about it.
My twin nieces and son birthday was being celebrated on that day.
Port-Louis is the capital and the hill has a church of "Mother Mary" as
seen in the video. In the interview some people said they were floating as in
the "Ark of Noah". You may watch.
