The Deluge of Dew

“The Lord of Armies says this: These people say: The time has not come for the house of the Lord to be rebuilt.” Now, the Lord of Armies says this: “Think carefully about your ways…”
Haggai 1:2,5 CSB

THE DELUGE OF DEW

the deluge of dew
withheld by God of Armies -
temple in ruins

the God of Armies spoke
to remnant through the prophet -
they feared and obeyed

God’s pleasure to bless
as he guides His flock with love -
think of all His gifts

what are they you ask -
grain, new wine, fresh oil, ground’s yield,
the sun and the rain

and there is much more
but we’re not to be selfish -
what’s been neglected?

Duke Beaufort January 25, 2024 at 12:27 PM Love the last line. I ask myself that question and think about it. There are so many sources of inspiration. Personally, I think of nature as responsible for all the gifts. Although life is short, how lucky we are to at least live a little and have a chance to see all the gifts. Absolutely amazing it is.
