The Deluge of Dew

“The Lord of Armies says this: These people say: The time has not come for the house of the Lord to be rebuilt.” Now, the Lord of Armies says this: “Think carefully about your ways…”
Haggai 1:2,5 CSB

THE DELUGE OF DEW

the deluge of dew
withheld by God of Armies -
temple in ruins

the God of Armies spoke
to remnant through the prophet -
they feared and obeyed

God’s pleasure to bless
as he guides His flock with love -
think of all His gifts

what are they you ask -
grain, new wine, fresh oil, ground’s yield,
the sun and the rain

and there is much more
but we’re not to be selfish -
what’s been neglected?

Love the last line. I ask myself that question and think about it. There are so many sources of inspiration. Personally, I think of nature as responsible for all the gifts. Although life is short, how lucky we are to at least live a little and have a chance to see all the gifts. Absolutely amazing it is.

Hmm. Deluge of Dew. What a fresh, original way to look at this blessing, Kim. I think we may drop our memberships in the anti-diluvian association (sic) after reading this one. ~ Ante-Bellum and Auntie Mae

We have blessings both small and great.

Such a lovely concept of divine blessings and the responsibilities that come with them and the idea that God provides for His people and expects them to not only appreciate His gifts but also to share them with others. Wonderful

If God speaks it is best to listen and do what He says but know what God is saying and not what man is saying. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K

Interesting poem Kim.. I guess people will have their own perspective on this.. I am not one for verses from scriptures to be honest, but I respect your freedom to do so..
