New Deal

Black Tuesday
     October 1929
     Vanishing wealth; stocks decline

Great Dust Bowl
Windstorms and drought, top soil gone
     Breadbasket empty; nature’s con

FDR
He’s the man, New Deal imposed
     Opportunities renewed; hopes rose

New Deal Reigns
     Work offered by the CCC
     Saves the lost American dream

Recession Echo
     The winter plunge 2009
Who will save our dreams this time?

Reality Knocks
     Frustration with Congress, current events
November elections a time to vent

New Deal Needed
     Americans looking for leadership
Power from sheep about to be stripped

*For Constance, a Rambling Poet’s “Create your own form, maybe?” contest
By Carolyn Devonshire
I work frequently in this form that I choose to call “Headline Couplets.” It includes a
headline followed by rhyming couplets that address the concept, person or event in
the first line of three-line verses. Probably inspired by my years as a journalist.

Premium Member - To Deal With Demons -

Wake up in my real world
Forever condemned in dark shadows
Release the power of demons
No light ... a black nothing, bats enjoying the place
Their fangs are the tools of their lust for human flesh and blood
The demons have chosen me to give birth to their children
It is not love
Brutal rape
Chained in their power
Inferno of fire, blood, death and hell
My days are numbered
Whoever betrays the demons get to taste the whip
A nightmare twenty four hours a day
Even in my dreams, they haunt my soul
Attacked of demons I am
My psyche is completely collapsed
Find myself in a pure terror condition
I would rather want to die as soon as possible,
than to fight the demons
The animal is the Devil himself

Where will tomorrow take us
Only God alone can tell
A brighter future a cloudless day
Or an earthly living Hell
How much of its our doing
How much is down to me
Is the fate laid out before us
A future meant to be

I know I've tempted fate before
At least a time or two
Risked life and limb and maybe more
I'd risk it all anew
Cos life for me's a wonderland
A journey to behold
A beautiful utopia
For the young and for the old

Til man exacts his dominance
Over everything he can
And mortgages each single soul
Of every living man
A banking led dystopia
Indebtedness their aim
We're caught here in the crossfire
In a costly Rotschild game

The year is sixteen ninety four
And a deal is on the cards
The notes are shilling loudly
From the moneylenders bards
Twelve hundred thousand reasons
Mortgage woman, man and child
The deal's been done, the trap's been sprung
The laughing Joker's wild

The Devil dealt a crooked hand
The rules weren't Heaven sent
The loans they pays a kingly ransome
The bets at eight percent
Inflationary stirms prevail
Nations drowningbin the flood
The odds now stacked in favour
Of a deal they signed in blood

Now money's just a token
The game is truly up
Their sleight of hand's been deftly played
They fill their debtors cup
Human lives collateral
As the game stacks in their favour
No money's needed anymore
The game is theirs to savour

Where will tomorrow take us
Only God alone can tell
The Devil deals in dying folks
His deals a living Hell
The game's a crooked one we know
It's plain for all to see
And the fate laid out before us
Is down to you and me

I Have My Own Problems To Deal With

They come to me with their tall tales.
I pretend to listen to their fables
Appropriately sad, I say
It's well my sister.
Everything will be fine
I say it like I truly mean it.
The truth is,
I have my own problems to deal with.

People throw banters and enquire about each other
They act like they mean well for you.
Can I get a little change from you.
I haven't paid my school fees.
My rent is still outstanding
They turn their backs
 And say
I have my own problems to deal with.

We love to talk about ourselves,
Who will listen
Who wants to listen to your problems
Half of the time your talking, their mind is elsewhere
Halfheartedly paying attention to your rants
At the back of their minds, they scoff
And say,
I have my own problems to deal with.

Thank you for listening you say gratefully
My dear, your welcome.
Anything for you, they lie
They roll their eyes behind you
Who wants to carry another person's burden
Who wants to listen to your secrets?
Who wants to keep your secrets by the way?
I'll pass they say,
I have my own problems to deal with.

Premium Member Can't Deal

it’s not often
he let the stress
get to him
anger swell
within
invasive
infectious
festering
no end in sight
his mind
detonate explode
scatter
it’s not often
but today was different
just can’t deal
he let it get to him

Premium Member Never Deal With a Fairy

The fairies harbor secrets; many humans should not know.
Some will give one away for a price; that trade is very rare.
Make a deal with a fairy and it’s for life.

No self-respecting fairy, would take less than human service for a lifetime.
What a fairy expects of a human slave; you won’t want to know.
Fortunately, deals with fairies are, quite rare.

Forget your steak dinner; in the land of fairies; you won’t get steak rare.
Fairy food, you’ll eat and fairies take no animal’s life.
How to cook fairy food, you’ll learn; it’s something a fairy slave must know.

Once you know how; your new talent will be rare but, remember that you made that trade for, your life.

Real Deal Woman

Real Deal Woman
Flit

Now, honey don't you play around
You know that it ain’t right
You be the man who brings to me
A man-size... Appetite

Don't need to go so fast
Just let me set the pace
Turn my green light into Red
There ain’t No need to race

I’m all that you need
You've already won
I’m all that you need
I’m your real deal woman

It’s something we got cooking
mix it till it hits the spot
because I’m full of loving
I'll keep it extra hot

You’re fueling up my heartbeat
My engine starts to roar
Cos now it's time to show you
You don't need her anymore

I’m all that you need
You've already won
I’m all that you need
I’m your real deal woman

I’m all that you need
You've already won
I’m all that you need
I’m your real deal woman

Genghis Khan was born,
Gripping a blood clot in hand.
But Love Child more bold,
And if I can say more cold,
Grasped I.U.D. dripping blood.

Premium Member It's No Big Deal

I know you're waiting
For an answer
A certain word
Said Loud and clear
You know the rules
As well as I do
Can't say that here
My dear

Perhaps there'll be
Another contest
Where I can say
Just how I feel
But for now you know my heart
As you have right from the very start
So, it's really no big deal

Don't ask me why
I have to enter contests
That's filled with complicated rules
I think, it's because I find the concept
Is made for fools
Just made for fools

I think the "L" word’s
Been inflicted
With a mortal wound
That just won’t heal
But since this feeling will exist
Where this soft melody persist
So, It’s really no big deal

So, It’s really no big deal

Big Deal

I once knew a poet named Cecile
She thinks her poems are a big deal
      Saddened when not placed
         Heart sinks in disgrace
C'mon let me win and hear me squeal

Premium Member A Valentine's Meal Deal - Bawdy

I need meat on Valentine ’s Day
A Love Sausage was on display
We will eat one tonight
And to hubbies delight
Much later he will get a lay

But hubby keeps pestering me.
To see my ‘pasties’ after tea.
I will give him some hassle.
About my titty tassle,
Cos they are not very comfy

I admit, yes I have to confess,
A love sausage brought from M & S,
Is a valentines treat,
Cos I do love my meat,
And there’s ‘pasties’ under my dress!

Fictional Poem For Libralori who loves eating Croissant's, thanks for the inspiration!

*M & S is a British Store, they are selling 'love sausages' for Valentine's Day

The Deal

Running in the dark I tripped and fell
Copper in the air, all I could smell
Fear and terror touched my head
Hope I wasn't just left for dead

Up ahead was some kind of light
Saw some movement prepared to fight
Thats when I saw the look in his eye
Had to be strong or I knew I would die

He said follow me I know the way
If you want to live you'll do what I say
That's when I saw the horns and the tail
I knew right then I could be only in hell

I turned and ran as fast as I could
My body felt rigid, almost like wood
I could feel heat on the back of my neck
A blow to my head and I hit the deck

As blackness pulled me down in a hole
I knew that my life wasn't all that he stole
As hideous laughter brought me awake
I knew it was over, my soul he would take

What do you want was all I could say
He said with a smirk," You may want to pray "
My mind snapped and I began to squeal
The last thing I heard was " Let's make a deal "

Done Deal

[A] DONE DEAL

[A] defeated disgusting man this is.
Disallowed defense because of his disease.
[A] Done deal to compete with the Dogs!
Distribute dinner to him as a better eat of hog maws.

Do not deliberate this as a lost.
[A] Done Deal depletes the prognosis.
Dis Dell do.
Hair her head to...
[A] Done deal the truth!

Premium Member Deal Or No Deal

Deal or no deal
The banker sows the seed.
Will the amount offered
Satisfy your greed.

Deal or no deal
You leave with nearly nought.
But at least you got to see
That bearded bloke.
