Premium Member You Caught the Wind

I remember you, from when there was a spring
When the seasons were ripe, with verdant green
Our nimble feet danced in the wind
and on the brink of everything

Not a furrow in the brow of youth
We borrowed life for just awhile
and tapped our shoes on childhood's stage
where carefree laughter was the rage
that filled each age with promised smiles

We danced and twirled a twin ballet
just you and me on summer's waves
Two pirouettes, in mode of curls
of blossoms, frilled, and tender leaves
unfurled in winds, we found a way
to soar our wings, above the world

We knew not yet
of death or dying
or of regret, or cause for crying

But, something frowned upon the season
You caught the wind, and without reason
A colder wind
that kept you flying
far beyond my eyes could see
And to the other side
you disappeared
beyond my words
beyond my tears
Now here alone
I touch the day
and taste the night
remembering

I will walk alone, in autumn sun
And lay myself on dying leaves
I think of you and think of then
I feel the wind against my face
that sweeps me to a distant place
where I recall what time erased

I'm closer now... to hear the sound
The whisper of the seasons calling

Above the trees, the sky is blue
I think of you, and feel the breeze
And all the while, the leaves must fall

Caught By a Train

I was caught by a train yesterday

I hear people say
this often in exasperation
exaggerated tones
with over-dramatic groans
as if the train somehow
physically captured them
in its large mechanical grasp
diabolically refusing
to let them go

Yesterday
I was caught in a different way
imagination captured, you might say
captivated
charmed
and enchanted
by the passing art display

Something about the way
vibrant, vivid colors
unexpectedly
splashed out on moving canvas
of rust red and dull gray
traveling fast
across the city
feisty train talking smack
with tags and words amusing, witty
strange, disturbing, edgy, gritty
grinding down the tracks

Sometimes shocking-
artfully rendered obscenities
or surprisingly
endearing
cartoon creatures
manga characters
from overseas
expressed with impressive
expertise
and ingenuity

As other drivers sat nearby
fussing, fuming
missing the show
pawing their floorboards
like impatient horses
hands gripping wheels
ready to go-

I watched the trains in
constant childlike
wonder and delight
for those twenty minutes of my day
two trains gone by, one each way

...Then watched the other cars
rolling through
still red
flashing lights
as soon as crossing arms
were lifted halfway
rushing, roaring
trying to make up
the time that was “taken”
by the railway

When Caught In the Wreck of Her Gaze

II

And did his rash actions give this prince
Cause, in moments of troubling quietude,
To ruefully ponder on all which could not
Be rewound?
A lamentable lack of honourableness and
Uncemented fortitude
Which brought those crashing towers down;
An inevitability borne from the desperation
Of his passions...
So unlike her own desperate passions contained
Inside the hapless extremities of a single gaze.
Her obvious compliance; the tawdriness of this
Sordid contract enabling an old-fashioned
Demand for dutiful obedience...but still betrayed
By a resigned sort of hopelessness. The futility of a
Guilt; his schoolboy-pawing of the tensioned strap;
Your revulsion; his constant bolstering...the
Belittling with that inane, maddening, witless chat.

Caught In the Sun

Where dawn is born and clouds are spun
To clothe the sky in golden lace,
The sea ignites as currents chase
Soft morning light that's just begun
To wake our love, caught in the sun.

Premium Member I'Ve Caught a Cold

Sneeze, sneeze, sneeze, sneeze
Oh I wish my sore throat would ease

Razor blades of pain are shredding my throat
And I’ve got so much snot I could launch a boat

My nose is as red as Rudolph’s and it’s oh so sore
I’m feeling achy and miserable this cold I simply do abhor

My temperature is high – I’m having a hot flush
I look a terrible mess; my hair is in need of a brush

Guess I will have to smile when hubby says I’m ‘hot’
Good job he loves me whether I look a wreck or not

Crystal clarity caught in drops

water is pristine and

genteel,

as it gurgles, babbles and plops

flowing over the land

A Jackass Caught In a Hailstorm

A Jackass Caught in a Hailstorm

By Elton Camp

Most who offend me, I can hold back
So, from them I don’t take much slack
It’s usually enough if I just coldly say,
“How do you dare talk to me this way.”

My position often carried some power
So that those around me in fear cower
I had influence on who was to be hired
Likewise as to those who should be fired

But there is another place where I do stay
That it never seems to work quite that way
And it is when I am in my very own house
There, whatever , I’ll be quiet as a mouse

When my wife and daughter begin to revile
I’ve learned it’s best to say nothing and smile
It very plainly doesn’t matter what I may say
Those two are going to have things their way

When a hailstorm the jackass has caught
To protect himself, the jack can do naught
He can only bray, as control he tries to fake
But he is better off, silently the hits to take

Caught In the Black Rain

She's caught in the black rain, emotions are swimming in darkness, as the
acid rain impairs her vision; within the depth her soul she's unable to find goodness.

The falling black rain has her mind in a state of confusion, murder is no longer
an ill illusion, actions has drawn it's fatal conclusion.

Upon her the black rain fell bringing misery with pain, living life in vain, constantly
seeing loss with no gain, and her mental health is far from being sane.

Few have already seen the devastating effects of falling black rain, it's aftermath
makes the sanest go insane, and those who survive the storm their lives will
never go back to being simple nor plain.

Falling black rain is a storm formed from mental pain, financial strain, loss with
no gain, and living life in vain.

Though, in my theory of goodness lies this conclusion," Things that we see as
being favorable unto living life is nothing more than our ill illusions," and there-
fore it's causing us an in-depth state of confusion.

Premium Member Caught In the Act

I bought her a bunch of blue violets and roses of red
Pure romantic thoughts were going around in my head.

Thought I'd surprise her and went round to her back door
There she was with my best friend, sprawled out on the floor.

She saw me and screamed saying "it's not what you think"
I lost one of my gold earrings under the kitchen sink.

Her face was red as beetroot, my former friend too
We exchanged insults and the air then turned blue.

Well I'm certainly no idiot and I have travelled worldwide
And it opened my eyes that she was taking me for a ride.

But there's one thing for sure, it killed my romantic mood
And you don't search for an earring when you're in the nude.

Premium Member Caught Unawares

The person in question
  not yet man
  no longer boy
  strong, but quite shy
    poised on the precipice
    of destiny

A river had caught him unawares
  he with half a paddle
  head full of hope
  belly knotted in fear
    watching deep waters rush along
    now unsure; then headstrong

To cross it he must
A crisis of trust
Midst the Wind's cruel gusts

Premium Member Caught In the Rain

It came with a flash upon my back
Caught off guard, suspenders hanging
Madly rushing to find a place so safe

From around the bend with a honk
“Hey watch your steps” was a shout
Horn blowing while in passing
One disgruntled taxi driver glaring
Newspaper umbrella in ruins

Noisy rumbling above from a subway
Heading down the track, clank, clank, clank
Brown dog barking, woof, woof, looking back

Shelter at last, finally found a spot
The rain came down with a heavy shout
Caught shirtless and without shoes
Now sipping coffee listening the blues
Feeling brand new tasting some stew

Premium Member It Caught My Eye

I drove by snowbanks with mountains in view
Pleasant thoughts traveled with me on my ride
Under deep blue skies, in a bright sun’s golden hue

When it caught my eye, flying from the side
A Bald Eagle soared out of trees I passed
Pleasant thoughts traveled with me on my ride

A sight captured in my mind, now to last
A clear elegant flight, welcomed me
A Bald Eagle flew out of trees I passed

So grateful for a surprise sight to see
Nothing but a smile was left on my face
A clear elegant flight, welcomed me

My thoughts now lifted to another place
Things we may see next, we do not know
Nothing but a smile was left on my face

We seek answers, yet so much to know
I drove by snowbanks with mountains in view
An eagle caught my eye, star of the show
Under deep blue skies, in sun’s bright golden hue

Caught Me Off Guard

Somewhere you are sitting
Unaware of how I feel
Then again maybe you know
How I wish that you'd reveal
Every now and then
I like to close my eyes
Pretend that you're with me
The dreams I fantasize
Honestly I wish you knew
The things inside my heart
Everytime I think of you
I wish we weren't apart
Never did I think
That I would fall for you so hard
Can't control the way I feel
It all caught me off guard!

Premium Member Caught In a Dream:

Caught up in the moment of a deep dream,
Myself drifting further than it would seem,
Although unaware of one's own true self,
I leave behind all my worries of health.

As orchestras sound and play in the mind,
Taken away on this journey in time,
While violins and great horns burst out free,
Captured the act of spiritual glee.

Quintessentially verbalized of course,
Within the dream world, there is no remorse,
No regrets, no shame, just a state of bliss,
In this realm, freedom to be as you wish.

You will be amazed at what you will find,
The dream world to me has always been kind.

lolling on a hill
in glossy days of summer
cherishing blue skies

fat bumblebees hum
tunes of sweetness and sunlight
purple rose delight

gurgling brook's laughing
then the fall, and mum's the word
chrysanthemum craze

calico cat frisks
in the mystery of hours
colored by beauty
