Best Atmospheric Poems
Storm clouds gathered in the skies
Swirling angrily and anxious
For the war
Brewing somber colors
Not swept away by the mighty wind.
Finally, holding off no longer,
They exploded in a crash of thunder
As lightning lashed out in pain.
The tension was relieved
While the torrential downpour flowed
Like an avalanche of tears,
And washed the dusty air.
Then, as if by magic,
When the last drop of rain was shed,
The aurora of sun embraced the sky
And kissed it softly with a rainbow
To fade the ashen gloom.
As my tears dissolve our storm
Hug me with your sunshine
Of understanding love
And let the rainbow of our kiss
Paint away the hurt.

I’ve heard about atmospheric pressure,
but honestly, it’s not a thing I get -
only that it’s something people measure,
and when it’s low, I hear we might get wet!
I guess they never taught me it in school.
In fact, I googled it just now. It said
we’re living in the bottom of a pool,
just one with air – not water – overhead!
I really like that nifty metaphor,
but how warm air that rises makes it low
I can’t quite comprehend, and I get more
confused when reading how it makes wind blow!
My brain’s now fried. I just can’t get the gist
of it! And that’s why I’m no scientist!

Down by the sea amid the frolic and glee
If the sky's blue, you're feeling the breeze
Adore, savor, relish; hear the wind's sigh
Because the atmospheric pressure's high.
On your farm, and all around the town
Calm air, no storms, no need to frown
Dance, bounce, spin, twiddle, twirl in joy
Because the atmospheric pressure's high.
Up in the clouds, near mountain tops
Heart's feeling fog as oxygen drops
Clouds will glow, storms will blow
Because the atmospheric pressure's low.
In high altitudes where the airplanes fly
Lower temperatures will roam the sky
In airplane's cabin the air's full of woe
Because the atmospheric pressure's low.
High or low pressure, stormy or a blue sky
Rest easy knowing laws of nature apply
Sun will shine after the rains are gone
A weary night will bring a cheery dawn.

Boisterous clouds are churning, roiling air-mass in warm updraft
Declaring on callous inhabitants of earth, a dark ferocious war
Manifesting malevolent force, imposing anger on spatial norms,
Conspiring with anguished winds to invigorate violent storms.
Colossal is their expanse that threatens the rise of new dawn
Offering a preview of what face of death would encompass
When enraged nature punishes humans for irresponsible acts:
Burning dirty fossil fuels, and decapitating vast forest lands.
Atmospheric inferno defies galactic harmony of equilibrium
Suppressing sun’s orange glow striving to uplift amber horizon,
Shrouding advent of nascent day to teach humanity a lesson
Collaborating with mighty oceans, stirring hurricanes and cyclones.
Overshadowed by the reckless commotion of ghastly gray,
Emerging marigold expression of ascendant tangerine daybreak
Grieves for the lost vegetation and deserted parched terrains,
Thundering a warning to foretell why the birds have already left.

Welcome to this club called "Earth"
Your wait will no doubt fill its worth
If you're a breather, have no fear
Your going to like the atmosphere
Mind not the pain behind your eyes
I'll be taking it with me when I rise
You see, the earth requires rain
And lows can create headache pain
But while I'm down when e'er it's grey
My mood is changing day-to-day
See, I never stay one way or other
I'm capricious, (like Nature's mother)
So here comes sunshine and blue sky
Things always improve when I get ...
HIGH!

atmospheric winds
above twilight waters
lovely aurora
shades of violet, indigo,
turquoise blend playfully
In quiet bay's embrace, where waters sigh,
I gaze at mountains 'neath the western sky.
Their stoic peaks, a timeless range,
Whisper tales of change, foretell the strange.
As thick cloud veils the once majestic view,
An atmospheric river brews anew.
The deluge nears with torrential might,
Veiling peaks in a shroud of endless night.
Dreams of Gene Kelly, dancing in the rain, light and free,
I thought to waltz within the storm with glee.
Yet, as I spread my makeshift wing,
It opened, spun, a tempest's fling.
No dance with lift, but a wild ballet,
Blown away, on hills, I found my way.
Not my dance in the rain, but rain in flight,
A twirl with wind, a spectacular sight.
The deluge unleashed, a relentless pour,
Nature's rhythm on a relentless tour.
The hills transformed, a watery stage,
A tale unfolding, a rain-soaked page.
Then, as swift as it had come to play,
The front passed over, unveiling day.
Sunlight pierced the lingering gloom,
A promise of calm after tempest's bloom.
In the aftermath, a cleansed terrain,
A story etched by the atmospheric reign.
For in the dance of rain and wind's embrace,
Nature weaves a tale of beauty and grace.

It’s the pressure exerted by the earth’s
atmosphere at any point given,
such acceleration and value of
standard of this word we live in.
The weight of the air increases
then starts to decrease,
then the pressure of the molecules
above the surface cease.
It’s like drinking from a straw,
while sucking our lungs expand,
then the air in the straw slowly drains
into the lungs as they withstand.
Then the air pressure in the straw
decreases and the pressure does force
the water to move up into the mouth,
there’s continuation henceforth.
Another example is blowing up an
elastic balloon with a suppressor,
the air pressure inside is higher
the atmospheric pressure.
The elastic expands due to the
pressure being equal in all directions,
then when the balloon bursts the air
escapes making a pressure connection.
There are many ways to see
the wonder of this phenomenon,
the earth’s atmosphere releases
pressure and it goes on and on.

my heart a jet plane
yours atmospheric pressure
air too thin for lift
They have their helmets on, and bodies heavily covered
as they walk slowly towards the crowd like armadillos.
Each one of the men in helmets know that it is their duty
to stop their friends, strangers, and countrymen
from getting a way through the palace gates.
Sweat drips on their skins, as they come closer
to the men and women who defend their rights to good living;
they are part of the crowd, but also part of the Law.
A fight ensues within them, tearing their conscience apart
like continental drift and tremors. Attempting to ignore the fight
in their minds, they yell their lungs out, as they run towards
their own people.
Bones and spirits break, as well as a sense of belonging.
The security personnel are treated as outcasts by the crowd,
who boo them with so much hate in their eyes;
a sense of democracy inherited from their fathers,
is cut short by people who only want to feed their families...
Atmosphere stratified over billions of years
Envelopes the Earth with protective layers
Saves the life from damaging solar radiation
Controls the climate and its spatial variation
Burns meteorites or asteroids on their course
So the Earth doesn’t become another Mars.
Mountain peaks pierce invisible atmosphere
Air pressure becomes less and less up there
Clouds surge sink slow in low-pressure trough
Descend as rain and snow with winds rough
The air becomes thin with oxygen depletion
Climber’s heart struggles albeit in jubilation.
Let life lying low become the mountain high
Rise over dreary atmosphere to touch the sky
Reach the stratum where the pressure is low
You will unburden life leaving the load below
Ecstasy clouds would enter mind at elevation
Melt in your heart as rain of blissful exaltation.

Planet Earth gives so much pleasure
when weather becomes much fresher,
our sun doth shine, relieves our pain,
provides precious life giving rain,
wet cold spells could spoil our leisure
rain, fog and frost our transgressor,
high or low the truth must remain
Mother Nature has Earth to maintain,
correct weather forecasts we all treasure
results from Earths atmospheric pressure,
inclement or comfortable we complain
we always have the weather to blame.
