Best Amazing Poems
Sixteen years old and in a world of her own
Confined to life lived in a wheelchair
Ever since birth, doctors don’t know what went wrong
But, it was like no one was at home in there
One summer vacation with the other kids in tow
The family visited a Kentucky horse stable
They left her alone in a sunny grass meadow
While off riding with the children who were able
While sitting alone in a catatonic state
Staring out somewhere in space
A gelding that was grazing, Mr. Truly Amazing
Came up and licked her on the face
The family returned to a shocking surprise
Seeing the wheelchair left unoccupied
They looked all around, then couldn’t believe their eyes
When they saw her standing with a horse by her side
She was petting his nose, feeding him an apple
And seemed to be whispering something
They were frozen in their tracks not believing the fact
That their Jenny was no longer a nothing
The mother walked up, in a delicate manner
Not wanting to interrupt this miracle’s course
When Jenny turned to her and in a shallow voice
Whispered, “Look, Mommy, I have a horse”
There’s a party tonight so I bouffe up my hair
Pamper and powder my sweet derrière,
Arrive at the door, all done up to impress.....
Oh man, I forgot! Invite said “fancy dress”!
Pete and Sue are here, seems their theme’s ‘Tarts and Vicars’,
Sue’s skirt’s microscopic! Look at her tiny knickers!
Pete’s in a nun’s habit; the image is scary,
I’ve not seen a nun with a chin that’s THAT hairy!
And there’s Spider-Man! (although I’m perfectly certain,
His cape is made out of his living room curtain),
His curve-hugging costume’s quite “cosy” in size,
I think our friend Spidey gobbled too many flies!
In the corner, a lady has come as Snow White,
Gee, her bosoms are out there, her corset’s so tight,
They look like two bald heads squeezed into a sack,
Glad my hubby’s not here - he’d have a heart attack!
In the hallway, a robot is looking well-oiled -
Her costume’s made out of three rolls of tin foil,
She looks more like a turkey at Christmas, so later,
I really hope no one is tempted to baste her!
By the buffet, Fred Flintstone is looking contrite,
I think he and Wilma are having a fight,
Behaving all “caveman” has got Fred in trouble -
He showed his big man-club to poor Betty Rubble!
There’s a massive man-baby dressed just in a nappy,
The “milk” in his bottle has made him quite happy,
He’s shaking his tooshie and sucking his dummy,
And asking a lady, “can I call you Mummy?”
On the sofa is Princess Fiona from Shrek,
Blimey, Count Dracula’s nibbling her neck,
I avert my eyes to avoid his rising passion,
In walks his wife, and his face turns quite ashen.
His irate wife’s dressed up as pop singer Cher,
In her see through outfit she looks almost bare,
Then she lays into Drac just like Rocky Balboa -
She’s drunk as I skunk, I’m relieved I don’t know her!
Suddenly, Batman bursts through the door,
In his skintight costume - my jaw hits the floor!
He’s so muscular - bulges in all the right places,
If I play my cards right, could be me he embraces!
Well sadly I haven’t a costume of course,
Til I spot a young chappie dressed up as a horse,
I leap on his back - I’m a great improviser -
Strip off and shout “Hey I’m Lady Godiva!”

I
adore
kicking through
crisp crunchy leaves
of gold, red and brown
carpeting the damp ground
Biting winds chill our bones
pumpkin soup warms us
and we’ll snuggle
up by a
blazing
fire

How do I begin to describe you
Such an incredible person
Yet even now you doubt your abilities
You lost your own mum when you were eight - you never ever got over it
You worked all your life, started off by working in a bank for almost 20 years
Then when you had children you ran a village shop from home
But also helped run the smallholding where we lived
You even had an evening job to bring in extra income
Then you began working in a care home and that had a big impact on you
At 50 you changed direction in life and studied and trained to be a nurse
No mean fete with two children to bring up
When you retired you continued to work in a care home
Then you undertook charity work every week still continuing well into your eighties
In fact you were on your way to work at the charity shop when you fell
You were found lying in the street …
Two bleeds on your brain and over three months in hospital
How you pulled through I will never know
Yet you battled on and are still with us still
Now you have short-term memory issues and are going blind
Fate struck a cruel blow when dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer
He passed away in February
Your lifelong partner for nearly sixty years
Your world turned upside down and now you live in a care home
We are selling the family home - gosh I find it tough emotionally
I know we have lost dad but I feel like I am losing you too
You are helping me clear out things from the house
Items you have known and loved for many years
Sadly we can’t keep everything
It must be so so difficult for you, yet you never complain
I just want you to know how much I love you
How much you inspire me
We only have one mum and I am so lucky I have you still

The soul whom the Son sets free
is free indeed,
Unlocking the rusting shackles
of oppression,
Allowing life’s amazing grace
to shine with His embrace,
Transformation of soul’s darkness
to light’s brightness,
The uplifting revelation of God’s
truth of freedom,
His extraordinary and infinite power
shining love every hour,
Preservation and hope for life
His love abound, no strife
How sweet the sound—
Wrapped in His embrace
Singing Amazing Grace!

Rio de Janeiro, a city by the shore:
Home to Ipanema, Carnival and dance folklore.
As a child, of you I read, from books that showed your Christ.
Arms outstretched, He guards your days and lights your sky by night.
And now I’ve stood beneath His feet and breathed the air you breathe.
I’ve viewed the famous Sugar Loaf, seen monkeys play in trees,
visited your fruit stands and drunk from a coconut shell.
I’ve searched for creatures hewn in stone that midnight vendors sell,
and on your soft and clinging sand, I thrust my toes deep in
and glistened under winter sun, brown sugar on my skin.
Along Copacabana, I jumped waves, enjoyed a beach
which, when they cross an avenue, all visitors can reach.
On weekends and on holidays, your several sea fronts teem
with hundreds, no with multitudes, of people who all seem
content to chat beneath umbrellas, lounging in the sun,
while on a road closed to all traffic, others like to run.
And on that winding promenade are folks, most clad in shorts,
thong-bikinied women, sundry shapes and shades all sorts!
Kids whiz by on roller blades; old or young may ride a bike.
Many simply merrily stroll, though dressed as for a hike.
And in your city’s whole, the countless cars and bodies stream;
pedestrians and door-less shops, props in your waking dream.
with taxis veering left and right and people catching buses;
Cacophony of life your subways and your streets encompass.
Children on their mother’s hands; boys in soccer shirts.
Men sip beers at sidewalk bars; girls scurry in their tight skirts.
Portuguese artisans laid the paths your people walk.
What tales immersed in history if cobblestones could talk!
More than a metropolis, you are yourself, unique!
And I have had the pleasure to have sampled your mystique.

Shadows of light and darkness
Contrasting images of El Capitan
Half Dome sliced by an ice age glacier
I met him that day in Yosemite
Touched by the unique qualities of his photos
Fine prints are displayed at his gallery
I marveled at his skill
Black and white contrasts
Create spiritual moments and introspection
I brought him home with me
His work now hangs in my office
Ever inspiring, ever grand

Pretty Bessie the cow was on the pull -
she had her sights set on Billy the bull
To attract the attention of this young man
Bessie the cow came up with a cunning plan
She had plastic surgery to enhance the way she looked
When he saw the transformation that young bull was hooked!
Bessie the cow also had some body piercing done
But when it came to milking this wasn’t so much fun!
Billy admired her whilst he was grazing
Bessie’s body now looked ‘udderly amazing’
Soon Billy and Bessie fell head over heels
They are always together in the farmer’s fields
Many many thanks to Mama Bear for sending me the two pictures which inspired this poem

There is a time when everything stands still,
When life's biggest moments
Are up close and ever so real
You take my breath away with all your sex appeal
When your eyes meet mine its a really big deal
You really know how to make this man squeal
I was hoping that you would be interested
In just how I feel
Oh baby if you really knew
How much of a thrill you would fulfill
Life with you makes my heart feel so true
It's not possible for me to sing the blues
Not when my eyes are full of all of you
All of this because I'm so in love with you,
As your love surrounds all parts of me
I can foresee total reality
That sets our hearts free
To be on an amazing love journey
How all of this makes us feel
when time stands still
And everything is so real
This much we can agree
Together we are so happy to be
Living life's opportunities
It's crazy unreal how you make all of this feel
Life is one big chance that leads us
To that special romance
When our hearts begin to dance,
And time stands still
As we realize our life together is forever
And so very real
The more we focus on what shines inside
That has us taking this amazing ride
Living life's highest high's
To the stars, so we can mystify
About our love, we won't let slip by
In a place, we can both occupy
Where we see the beauty eye to eye
Baby, it will never be about saying goodbye
You sure know how to make my spirit fly
The good lord would testify
How you taught my heart to reach for the sky
You have to know how hard I try
To give you my love supply
Energising what grows so deep inside
Knowing we have concord love far and wide
How wonderful it feels living without having to hide
Opening up a world that we can justify
Where our life is so electrified
Love that brings on life's most rewarding high
With a woman, who magnifies
All the love that reflects from your eyes
My wonderful mother who I love and adore
From the day I was born you have been my mentor
You give me a huge smile when I walk through the door
I cherish time spent with you like never before

I met the most amazing woman today
So pretty, such a looker all the way
Everything about her had me reacting
In the most sensual ways
So interesting to talk with
I hope she wants to stay
Her personality just carries my spirit out to play
The longer she stays the more I sway
Wanting her in my life more than in just a sexual way
She peeks my interest with all that she has to convey
Such a sexy lady all dressed in casual denim blue
With the ability to shake my world up
Making it feel shiny and new
So cute with her blond hair and bluish green eyes
With a body that makes my adrenalin fly
Her dad tells me that she is not about the lies
Street smart but still vulnerable enough to cry
Not the kind of woman who talks out of order or asks why
To find a lady who doesn't feel like she has to try
Or one that fits in that isn't terribly shy
Who understands what life requires to get by
As hard as I don't try
I find myself staring deep into her eyes
Wow this woman makes my heart just want to fly
I feel her inner weakness starting to comply
Our worlds inner locked like rockets launched on high
From the moment we said hi
I felt something special about her I could not just let lye
Trying not to overplay my day
Enjoying her natural foreplay dancing in such a display
Drifting away wanting to replay the whole day
She captured my heart from the very start
So beautiful funny and smart
If she was my sweetheart
No one would ever be able to pry our worlds apart
Like a shooting dart with a love potion
She calms my ocean
Putting my lonely soul into full motion
Throwing my towel in so we can begin
To know how it feels when we win
Letting her know just how I feel
Everything about her was the right feel
Not trying to reinvent the wheel
Doing it openly of her own free will
Love her smoking hot body
That just makes me want to squeal
I believe a ride with her to the top of the hill
Would make any man's spirit want to seal a love deal
I can feel her love in my heart
That came to life right from the very start
I can see us never being far apart
Now that I have found the woman who lives in my heart
Future dreams- I have put on hold because of dreadful fear,
Until now, I am trapped in a cemetery with the dead, weeping;
To myself so often, I say just let it go, let the pain go-follow dreams.
Until now, my yesterdays were more important than tomorrows,
Ravaged has been my short life and my future out of sight;
Ends of journeys usually mean beginnings of others- but I am stuck.
I have had a dark past, full of death and tragedy. And I am unable to let it go.
And what is odd is that my parents were the happiest people, never full of gloom.
Why cannot I be more like them? They were always looking to the future, they had
plans and dreams, and they never dwelled in the past. They could have, but did not.
My Dad used to say that life is like chapters in a book, you finish one, begin another.
I know that it will be impossible to live my dreams until I accept the sad of my past.
Accepting the past will allow me to move into the future. Yesterday is history and
tomorrow is a mystery, as the saying goes. I want to make new memories, happy
ones, but first I must find the happiness that dwells within. And move on because
I have beautiful dreams full of peace and tranquility and awesome new adventures.
I will take the past
lessons and bring them with me-
amazing are my dreams

Poem of the Day, May 9, 2016
The world needs amazing love,
The world needs surpassing love,
The world needs redeeming love,
A love that can bring healing,
A love that can bring support,
A love that can give solace,
The love that was shown by Christ,
A love that gives it's all,
To make a better place for all,
A love that can move mountains,
A love that works wonders,
A love that is infectious,
That brings innumerable followers,
To bring heavenly joy.
You're amazing no matter what
Only you can live life abundantly, my friend
Underestimated - you once were and you lived life in a blur
'Cause you were lost and now, you're safe and sound
Remember that you're loved and will always be
Extremely willing to appreciate you always
A long time ago,
My life was nothing until you came around -
A great, wonderful friend that is amazing beyond belief
Zealous and beautiful - that's what you are to me
Incredibly smart and you know it's true
Nothing makes sense to me when I feel blue
Grace is what you're full of and glory that I truly love..I no longer feel blue with you around
Never, ever wanting to feel negativity or pessimism
Optimism is what I feel as I talk to you more and more online
My life is something more than what any human can possibly see -
And I admire you honestly and sincerely…
That's from the bottom of my lonesome heart
Telling you all this uplifts me, yet gives me a desirable outlet
Embarrassed a bit, but relieved what I've written down, which is inspired by you
Really - you're a dream come true, despite what you've been through
Willing to do anything for you...my pen pal so true
Hope is on its way for me and you - who knew?
And you know what?
The amazing thing about you is your empathetic, energetic side that got me out of an emotional rut
