You can draw with the yellow ink
while I draw with the green one
Take your yellow ink
and you will sketch the islands of:
Grand Bahama, Abaco, Cay Sal Bank
Bimini, Berry Islands, Andros,
New Providence and Eleuthera
against the dark skin of my backbone
Now I will take my green ink
and will sketch the islands of:
Exuma, Cat Island, Long Island,
Rum Cay, San Salvador,
Conception Island,
Acklins, Mayaguana,
Crooked Island, Samana Cay,
Ragged Island, Little and Great Inagua
against the light skin of your backbone
Finally we both will take our inks
of azurite shades of blue
will shade in the bodies of:
The Great Bahama Bank
The Little Bahama Bank
The Tongue of The Ocean
Exuma Sound, The Bight of Acklins
and the Florida Straits
against the flesh and backbones
of each other like human canvases
together forming a unique
little archipelago chain of our very own
to embrace the proud Bahamians
we are both on the inside

Pawn enters into the checkered
rooms of the cylindrical tube
sips serpentine cocktails, two
colours in a mirrored glass cube
Red dragon rose petals litter the
azurite crystal bar, violet flame
star light adorns the altar. Pawn
reflects but can't recall his name
Upon asking, his faint voice echoes
as hooves rap upon the spiral stair
On each red step sits a demon
writing up a contract to ensnare
Pawn accedes and bursts out in wicked rage
disengages from his act upon life's stage
A lasting nightmare of terrors so malign
forever at war within his demented paradigm
Today I wish I can go to the beach
and sit on the wooden swing
hovering back and forth above the sea
so I can let go of the rope and soar mid air
and let my veins feel the ocean vibes
of the azurite and aquamarine waves
racing down the slide of my narrow spine
Color me azurite; Malachite isles upon Lapis blue seas.
I sail the waves, moved by Gaia’s tranquil, reverberating song.
On the horizon, dolphin arcs play; brother sun laughs.
This ship, this Earth;
Satellite on a quest;
Sailing universal seas.
Azurite orb,
Whirling gyroscope,
Seeking a new adventure.
Pilgrim of galactic light,
Browsing the heaven’s shop windows.
What do you see, Gaia?
What do you know?
Your womb gave me
Up when you were millennia old.
Teach me now, the meaning of life;
Of existence.
I savor your flesh,
Drink your blood.
Your earthly breast
Feeds me and breath
Nourishes my body.
Mother Gaia, this
phoenix must burn
to be reborn; sharing
ashes with its siblings.
Light my fire so that
I am cleansed for a
New journey;
My next life awaits.
I need to peruse
your secrets and
Return your gifts;
it’s the give and take
That nourishes all life.
For her backsplash style, I used cobalt tile.
Her sapphire eyes bold cast me away cold.
My heart dipped right to benitoite night.
Hot to drown in brew and sad boleite blues.
Yet I put on my new turquoise suede shoes.
My topaz car I drove to Rockies far
There to glorify in azurite sky
And lakes nearby of lapis lazuli.
I waited with tunes a celestine moon.
At dawn, cyanite jays curst me away.
And my sapphire blues at last I did lose.
In a world with billions,
Of colors bright and bold;
Color me azurite;
Malachite and lapis
Veined with golden pyrite;
Yes I am azurite.
I’m baked in the ground
Until I am found;
And I’m chipped away
From my mother’s womb;
Cut and set in gold.
Now color me
Expensive please;
These days I am
So very rare.
Over-mined,
Earth’s robbed blind;
So unfair.
Still a
Beauty;
I.
Mother
Earth’s love birthed
The Azurite
Lapis, Malachite and
Pyrite.
Crimson ribbon across the darkening sky
Toys sweetly with exquisite hints azurite
Sublime whisper in the stillness of the night
Dulcet as a fluttering wings' butterfly
Ignoring warnings of atrophy's caution
Tightening the fatal corset to her heart
Beware of jealousy's evil counterpart
Watching it adrift beyond the horizon
Neath veil opaque set free most venomous ache
Draining weary soul of stagnant tears and fears
With returning tide the hope of buoyant years
Await sunrise as she awakes at daybreak

Azurite, its colors bold;
the image of Gaia’ from space.
With malachite and lapis both;
a stone of such good taste.
The golden, pyrite veins;
flow across its radiant breath.
Azurite tells stories old,
of Mother Earth, with zest.
Malachite lands, lapis oceans surround;
such deep blue, rolling seas.
Azurite has no motion;
it’s a portrait of Earth, you see.
I passed through the azurite; a soul on its molecular tour.
I swam lapis lakes and trekked the malachite mountains alone.
Energized by the pyrite sun’s rays, I was renewed.
