I called out to Death
And Death answered me
I cried out for his embrace
And he comforted me
I poured my heart out to Death
And he invited me to dine with him
For the two months I visited Death
I was at peace
I danced with Death and I felt free
Oh how i wished to dance with Death for all eternity!
To be one with him and to live with him
But alas, 'twas not to be
For the two months I was Death's guest
I never once thought of the ones i left distressed
Death had given me an escape from the mess
But looking back now 'twas not for the best
Through my waltz with Death
I caused more harm and no good
Never once looking back
Regret, a foreign taste upon my tongue
Now, Death's cold kiss is engraved on my neck
A reminder that dancing only leaves you with sore feet and a sore neck
A mark I will carry
Till the end of my days
My health, in shambles
My relationships, beyond repair
My self-esteem, in the gutters
And still all I can think of is 'my'
I have caused more harm than good
And learnt that dancing is best left for those called to dance
For I cried out to Death
And Death answered me
ATTEMPTED BAKE
Everything prepared the day before
Reading a recipe book for sure
The Flour, Butter and Sugar all added
It’s not the Pillsbury Bake Off
It was a need for dessert
Bake on Bake on
The oven is good and hot
Soon a layer cake to eat, I hope
Better have the Pepto Bismol ready
Just a matter of wait and see
Lord, please help me
The Layer cake was done
It was supposed to be a Layer Cake
Heaven’s sake
The cake turned into a flattened sink
I must have used the Titanic Recipe Approach
This cake came out as a joke
I might could be served as a pancake
My first instinct was to get my tire and pump like a flat tire
Like I said, attempted bake
No give nor take
Simply a mistake
Garbage with no partake.
He's sitting in the sand
In his right hand
A little stone, he lifts it high
Left hand fingers fly.
He lets his tongue taste the weather on his skin
Intense sensation of sunlight felt so warm within
He sings a song in words
meaningless, unheard
Sun plays in his hair
It likes it there
Children play around
him, wonder, frown
Sometimes a question there
Lands nowhere
He lets his tongue taste the words and sound
Rolling behind his teeth, savouring all around
They play alongside
Most together, he outside
Attempted communication
Inadequate investigation
His eyes strafe past
Too fast
Observes from corners of his eye
What do they do, and why?
He lives inside but knows there is outside
Incomprehensible, no matter how hard he tries

The flowers grew only on the far side of the river
It has been a lifetime since I sat peaceful and patient
and searched for a four leaf clover
The sky the most perfect blue
The clouds are bursting and go on into infinity
The air is brisk, Autumn is coming
The stream moves ever so slightly
Here in this grass on this riverbank
seems so serene
a calmness I rarely feel is about me
I breathe in deeply the clean crisp air
It fills and feels wonderful in my lungs
All the faint sounds combined create beauty
Hearing is the last sense to go when we die
I study the ants as one carries a dead brother
takes him deep in the tunnels
How would it feel to lack all emotion
Fear is a common enemy of us all
This happens every time
Thoughts invade my meditation
I re-center
I lay back and watch the sky
This would be better with someone
I wish it would rain
She said she prefers humor
In a man. I am no Shakespeare
But I know how to conjugate
With knack and with wit, even
The occasional split infinitive:
To gamely gabble as she giggles.
Where is the fun in that? Better
To impress her with some slapstick
Skit, or razor sharp sarcastically
Spoken iambic limerick about
How good her big "bits" are, yes
My own form of comical flattery!
She is craving for it, the absence of
My despair (also known as tragedy).
i started a joke that i would like for you to finish
maybe then i could see that smile of yours again
it used to always make my problems fade away....even if for a little while
life's merciless stratagem has chewed you up and spit you out
the unorthodox maneuvers and sneaky foreign objects have left you battered and bruised
the earthquakes and the heartbreaks have all but rendered you depleted and defeated
however you bounce back inflated only to land in the darkest manhole deflated
it was in your deepest state of unrecognizable that i took a sudden notice of you
i was lead to start a joke and pause before the true punchline
i will wait forever for you to finish i that is how long it would take you
when the curtains come to a final close, i pray that your smile will be like ice cream from a small town dairy queen on a peaceful blue sky sunday
okay,
i will talk about flowers
if you will talk about togetherness
okay,
i will walk beside you
if you will agree to slow down
okay,
you can have your freshly brewed coffee
if you can accept my concentrated orange juice
okay,
i will check out the abstract art of you
if you will look at the iridescent paint splotches of me
okay,
i will just tell you that i love you as you love me
if you can accept that and kiss me in that 'you' way
okay,
i will get in touch with my sensitive side
if you will freely admit that you too have flaws
okay,
i will meet you at a busy interesction
if you are willing to join me on a one way street
okay,
i will gladly go with you in the exact same direction
if you will finally conclude this crap so we can get something to eat!
She is Christmas past
In a way, to most goes unseen
Radiant with purity too true to last
Yet with her my love tends to lean
And from love’s light a face revealed
Beauty of Skin and bone this portrait mild
For such divinity must lie concealed
From this light my affection riled
Absurd though this passion be
For this task a Godly hurdle
Passion drives the very heart of me
So I chase this heavenly hare, me, a mortal turtle
For she, this girl Christmas, I shall make haste
Toward this love of mine, an unending race
Time is very valuable
It's always of the essence
Gives them chances
But it takes patience
Learning things, like something new
Is required in most cases
The things they have they say or do
Leaves their mind with no empty spaces
Although they try with all their might
To make it through to victory
The nature of the inner self may strike
And cause them to go down, not in history
Keeping head up, spirits high
Not letting failure take them down
Reach for success, give it another try
Carrying a smile, not a frown
Victory seen, from afar
Let no one take it, or say otherwise
Soon they will be a shining star
And take those who doubted them by surprise.
I can't make sense of this head of mine
I feel hopeless, running out of time
I should've died, my only wish
I just don't understand all of this
why does God want me to live
I'm alone, I have nothing to give
scars of white, tears of red
I can't make sense of this head
cuts break open, mouth gone dry
I don't get it, I should've died.
Temples and hutongs
dragons and people abound.
Tea an oasis.
Onions basil and garlic
Simmering softly
Thinly sliced leeks buttery splash
Chives and parsley mash
Salt and pepper dash
Broth and sip
Soup
