Premium Member Sing Along With Summer

Summer stares, graceful
as the quiet chirps
birdsong, let’s sing along…
joy unfolding, on wings
listening for His voice
in the heart, the soul, anyplace

growing old, while the summer
restores the heart, the soul
breaking out in sweats of golden
sunlight, bursting from the heat
melodies so sweet…

gently playing against the ache
of a silent knowing,
His love unfolding, like a distant
star, reflecting all the wonder
the wonderful in His call…

calling us all, to believe
to see the music in the leaf
to see the dusty melodies
beyond the grief…

the seeds of hope He’s planting
between the darkness and the need
to be the light He shines through each
heart who believes, He is
the music, the notes of grace
the peace that is everlasting, forever
praising, with each fading prayer…

like the birds, on wings
instead of harps, singing melodies
of love that will forever pour from the heart
love that will always protect me
love that will never forget me…

the music in the song, He’s always – eternally – so I’ll sing along

That Comfort Zone

Age does not define us,
But our choices surely do.
How I live my life may not
At all appeal to you.

We have to find that comfort zone
Between our younger verve
And, in our later years, that well
Of vigor in reserve.

Some people choose to stay at home,
Quite happy to embrace
The extra time to just relax,
Not going anyplace.

While others, with the end in sight,
Have trips they rush to plan,
Locations where they’ve never been,
To travel while they can.

There is no right or wrong in this;
All people must decide
If they’re ready to step off the train
Or stay on for the ride.

Deploy Joy

I Deploy Happiness and Joy,

Exuberant like a boy.

It's a brand new toy,

One you can enjoy,

Anytime,

Anyplace,

Put a smile on that face.

Feel that saving grace,

Filling the Empty space,

When your reality starts to quake.

Put on the brakes,

Accept the mistakes.

A different choice to make,

When you're about to break.

When emotions create a wake,

A wave,

Becoming their slave.

A new path to take,

Don't misbehave.

Smile.

Be brave,

Ride the brainwave.

Surf the concave,

Emotional swell.

Shred that Tube,

Don't come unglued.

Slide through that bad attitude,

With a strong mental aptitude.

Exude gratitude,

Know you're valued.

Change the mood,

A choice you'll be glad you used.

Let Happiness and Joy guide you,

As you Ride through,

your Attitudes.

Peace

I love to use best my eyes and hands and feet
and many more, and love to feel the cheerness of winds
    around.
I love to find elsewhere how life is
and love to look and think and say something about
     the world.
I love the river flowing like a compass
and love the sun and anyplace on the moon just like
I touch the chart and calendar.
I the watch and all of these things and others
and love to be careful where the world is bold and glee
and glad in every sense and somehow ha-ha-ha-ha
how I love for instance fun in peace?.

She looks at me over her spectacles
Wondering what I am going to say.

Megaphone is needed since she can't hear.
She is always asking, "What did you say?"

Embarrassed to take her out anyplace
always hungry spilling food on her clothes.

Frequently subconscious thoughts are out loud
Never afraid to bluntly speak her mind.

She walks and stumbles like she has had one
too many cinnamon whisky eggnogs.

Very trusting person that loves people,
tries not to see the bad in anyone.

In her younger years worked with young children
with spellbinding, fun, safe environment.

Now, terrified to go out anywhere,
says there's to many crazed drivers out there.

Her goal is to improve her writing skills,
be more social outgoing with new groups.

Loves to write true nature, nursery rhymes,
and mournful poetry since her losses.

So Lucky

I’m so lucky to live near the Met,*
Where the art is as good as you’ll get
Anyplace you may go
And with every new show
I am grateful to be in its debt.

If I visit along with a friend,
Then it’s certain that I can depend
On whatever we see,
Both for her and for me,
To be worth all the time we will spend.

Such an outing just happened today,
Though my friend went way out of her way,
But we so much enjoyed
What we viewed and left buoyed
By such wonderful art on display.

Premium Member world I never imagined

I have never seen children who cannot listen as hard as these students
They could if their mouths ever shut, but they are perpetually open.
Words coming hard and fast, for they may have never been listened to.
At home, or anyplace else. And now here they are, babbling away.
Thinking their opinions are more important than the teacher’s.
I feel like I have fallen upside down into the Twilight Zone.
It is a world that I as a child could have never imagined or fathomed.

Premium Member A Lovely Unicorn

Love is so much and so little
Big blue moves to prove one is true
Donating a kidney or other organ
Or little thoughtful green gestures
Being there loyal and true holding hands
But in my life love is a unicorn
Running wild and free
Not limited to this world
Colorful and magical because
Two hearts beat as one
Galloping uninhibited anyplace
It is like having your own island
With everything you need upon it
Until you have it you don’t know
How limited you are
Love knows no bounds
Like the unicorn with wings
It flies above ordinary human things
Love of a child man woman or pet
Love of a hobby or dream
Is inspiring
So a kiss is like a lavender love letter
A hug is like a plush purple poem
Intimacy is the touch so strong
It is like making music with long
Flowing melodies from each heart
Soft and hard graceful and sharp
Changing growing never boring in dark
Each one reach one and never
Is there a note that is without hope
For we live in hopes of being loved
Yet we can love despite never having it returned
The unicorn will always be a myth
To those who have not had love
Transform them and show them
You are someone’s unicorn in love.

That Was Yesterday

He would stand atop his soap box,
yelling his sermon to the crowd.
He’d thump his chest and strut along,
go anyplace he was allowed.

He found it hard to understand,
ignorant people in this land.
So engrossed in their own interest,
not seeing the problems at hand.

He would use social media,
or the water cooler to shout.
Opinions on the border wall,
and what climate change was about.

He’d preach his rhetoric into,
the minds of any who were near.
He would scream about gun control,
how the end of freedom was here.

But that was yesterday my friends,
I think he finally understands.
Cause today he got the X-rays,
now he prays for God's helping hand.

Melted Cheese

A lunch for me that’s bound to please
Is one containing melted cheese,
For on a bagel or some bread
(The crusty type) or else instead…

Inside a quesadilla shell
Or anyplace to melt it well,
I love its oozy stretchy form,
Especially when it’s still warm.

It could be cheddar, maybe Swiss
Or mozzarella (that can’t miss)
Or muenster, gouda, edam, jack
To make a meal or just a snack.

The salad lovers may protest,
Yet pizza fans would pass the test,
For life provides no guarantees
Except when lunch has melted cheese.

Premium Member Life and Death

I am the breath of life
I fill your lungs with air
I'm flowing like a river
Like the wind blows through your hair

I wake you in the morning
I comfort you at night
I'm the deep eternal spring
And the everlasting light

I am the kiss of death
All will feel my soft embrace
I can come to steal your breath
Anytime and anyplace

I'm waiting in the darkness
I'm hidden out of sight
I'll be there when the time comes
To pull you from the light

Educational Journeys

A catalogue came in the mail
Of places I could visit,
Descriptions of the journeys
Both exotic and exquisite.

The trips were educational,
For travel and for learning,
With some possible connections
To new friends upon returning.

The itineraries beckoned –
Every country you’d consider
If you had the savings ready
And the time that you could fritter.

So I thumbed through all the pages
Of the places for exploring,
But for now, my home has more appeal
Than anyplace for touring.

This utterly delightful passion

It is life’s hope, my foundation
Coming to the heart with salvation

Knowing a joy nothing can replace

It assures the heart it’s prosperity
Enlightening the love’s similarity

It assures that love and hope conspire
It whispers of faith that brings you higher
Reassuring the spirit of its supplier

It rhymes with beautiful light
It rushes to save from the dark night
It reaches beyond the poems we write
Softening the soul with its insight

It rhymes with joyful peace

Sharing God’s grace, His masterpiece

It rhymes with Jesus, the Son
It abides in the soul He has won

Heartbeat

Her heart sounds like
and her breath tastes like
and her shoes click like
and her eyes flash like

But when she catches her breath
does she also shine?

One breath of roses
One breath of honey
One breath it burns but it doesn't make me

Just once

Just once for me
Just one more time

If you dilute the truth so much that the numbers can't think you
If you dilute and dilute and dilute even the blood
And say
Oh even that blood barely flows
Then what is truth?

One on each side
One above
One Below
I would know this nothing
Nothing anyplace
Nothing anytime
Nothing anywhere
