When all the lines you crossed but didn't see
Grow darker by the day upon your face
Your rosy blush of youth has been erased
And cheeks are drawn where dimples used to be

Your train of thought fueled by a memory
Runs tracks of time that don't lead anyplace
The stops along the way will be retraced
Then one day it will stop in front of me

I'd like to think the pause will bring a smile
Your heather colored eyes would brightly bloom
Your heart would beat the rhythm of a rhyme
You'd disembark and stay a little while

And when you blink I'll be back in the moon
The smile so warm it lasts until next time

Guardian Angels

Goodnight my dear boy and what's that you say?
You want me to chase the bad monsters away?
Well, I'll tell you a tale that may just be true
And if it's made up, it is done just for you...

I know you're afraid of the dark and the gloom
When you lie wide awake all alone in your room
'Scardy cats prowl and their tattle-tales pester
Goose bumps may prickle and worry-warts fester

Shadow-ghosts creep up and crawl to your cover
You roll on your side but then you discover
The thump in your pillowcase whispers too loud
So here's what I've done and I know you'll be proud...

I've met with the monster man under your bed
He thinks you will find he is not much to dread
He just needs a friend and to know that you care
So if you reach down he'll shake hands from his lair

I've found where that boogie man hides in the wall
He's cramped and alone and he waits for your call
He believes you're convinced he is ugly and mean
And hold him to blame when you have a bad dream

Your monster man's fierce and has razor-sharp teeth
But he understands things that may stir underneath
Your boogie man knows what you don't want to find
And what's around corners and hidden behind...

They'd like to come out and tell you a story
(Perhaps something scary but nothing too gory)
Sit up and talk with them late into night
Come morning they'll gladly slip back out of sight

But at night they'll grow strong to protect like they should
To face down your fear and show evil what's good
Stand watch while you sleep, they will stay by their mark
If you wake you might catch their eyes glow in the dark...

It's then as you grow you may find you walk bolder
With two fearsome friends striding close by your shoulders
They'll go anyplace as a general rule
(But maybe you'd better not bring them to school)

If witches and dragons can streak through the sky
Then monsters and boogie men surely must fly!
At the edge of your sleep (when you just start to doze)
Whisper the password and wiggle your toes...

And they'll sweep you away to soar like a dove
Over the rooftops to heavens above!
Up into orbit to your own private place
High on a mountaintop floating in space

Sit back and relax with a satisfied grin
Laughing and singing as you watch the earth spin
Hum along while your boogie man growls a brave tune
Count stars while your monster man howls at the moon

Facebook Friends

Facebook is a website we can talk and play
Many applications to while away the day
I have made many friends some new and old
Many conversations and stories are told

You are never lonely when you visit the site
You can stay there a minute or all the night
You can visit friends without leaving the room
If you go to work you can come back to it soon

There are many lovely people out there
People who love you people that care
If you have problems they will help if they can
Many groups set up so you can become a fan

Play games with friends and chat with them too
They will always be there on facebook for you
If you’re feeling down it won’t be for long
Friends cheer you up and you feel you belong

Hatchlings and smiles are little aps
Or a virtual farmyard for you perhaps
Kisses and pokes you send to your pals
There are aps for men and aps for the gals

A heart for close pals that goes down well
Most friends will like that i can tell
It’s a sign of friendship it means you care
You can talk to people anyplace, anywhere

So all you need is a pc that’s on-line
Friends will be there for you all the time
A place where friendship never ends
This is a tribute to my facebook friends

The Tramp Persona
Who was this boy, a pauper born?
Existing in despair and continual forlorn
Scandalized, accused of communist sympathies
Encompassing both adulation, and social controversies
Charlie Chaplin how can I take you seriously?
Chucklesome slapstick injecting tragedy
Awkward, little mime tugging at the heartstrings
A cathodic empathy he brings
of all those around him, a famous clown
A wiggled walk, a cane, a grin, a frown
The Great Dictator, as plain as black and white
In the struggles against misfortune, the tramp persona typified
A virtuoso kid he found at a hall by chance
A four-year-old child, he saw him dance
A gift he gave to us, a sharing alliance
The Tramp who mastered the power of silence

I was hardly aware of a crisis because we lived in a continual crisis; and, being a boy, I dismissed our troubles with gracious forgetfulness. —Charlie Chaplin, on his childhood
Marylin Monroe “She was a tramp.”
Without her contracts at 20th Century Fox and Columbia (which had both been dropped) who were hungry for denial and headlines. Instead, Marilyn said this:

“I was broke and needed the money.
Why deny it? Tom Kelly’s racy nudes of me
You can get one [a calendar] anyplace.
Besides, I’m not ashamed of it, I’ve done nothing wrong
I was a week behind on the rent and it’s here where I belong
I’d never have done it if I’d known things would happen so fast in Hollywood for me.”
Her candor and honesty charmed everybody
You have this sense of having met a wounded little canary not a peacock. Only when you pick it up in your hand to comfort it … beneath the wounds, vulnerability, and innocence, you find raw strength, and a big heart—I Am Anaya

Lady And The Tramp
A warm and loving story
For dog lovers, in the sense of humor
A carefully nurtured cocker spaniel, Lady
Born in New York City a Baby boomer
Natural beauty overwhelming, a pedigree no vamp
And a rakish, debonair, freedom-loving wanderer
of a dog who wares no man's collar, Tramp

Premium Member Lost Childhood -Part 2-

I am going to leaf you
     9 times leaf you
I smirk
I beam
I reach for you
          You dance around
          Intangible
     That is one!

     8 times leaf you
Little One
I lead
Come with me
          You smile
          You laugh
          Alluring as dawn
     That is two!

     7 times leaf you
          You, lively
          so joyous
          Banter in speech
          I taught you
     That is three!

     6 times leaf you
Don't leave me!
Anyplace I go
  you follow
     That is four!

     5 times leaf you
Little One
  don't realize
  our hardship
That crooked shy smile
  protection and comfort
     That is five!

     4 times leaf you
I take your place
I shield you
Don’t show yourself
  be quiet
     That is six!

     3 times leaf you
We go
Little One,
  seize your leaves
  we flee
Stop singing
  hush hush!
     That is seven!

     2 times leaf you
Don’t dance
  take your leaves
  fly!
Go!
  leave me!
     That is eight!

     1 times leaf you
Yes, leave me,
I find you,
  wherever you are
Little One,
I hear you
  in my mind
  in my heart
Fade your voice
  from my memory
     That is nine!

     I leaf you.

You left.

A Sojourner's Prayer

I have no place to call home
I have no man to call friend
Alone in this dreadful world
With the sky as my roof:
And the clouds as my blanket
How safe can I be?
I am a sojourner!

I go anyplace my feet can carry me
From the north to the south
And the East to the west
I don’t even know what it is I’m looking for.
But I sure hope someday I will find something
And all my efforts shall be rewarded

Lord give I Strength
To navigate through the storms
To climb high over the mountains
Until I reach my next destination
And the one after that...
Until my feet can carry me no more
I am a sojourner!

I do not spend two nights in one place
Not used to overstaying my welcome
I travel through all kinds of roads
From country roads to narrow paths!
City highways to strip roads!
Through the day and through the night
OH LORD...I need your light!

No one ever asks my name
I do not have any friends
So I call upon you OH Lord
To be my companion in this journey of life
Alone I cannot make it
Because no one is willing to walk with me
I am a sojourner!

If I had wings I would fly
Over cities and towns...villages and kraals
So my journey would be easier & fun
Too bad i only have two feet
I have to follow the long and tiresome roads
OH lord give me patience!

From one city to another...one country to the other.
At least I get to live every man's dream
To travel the world and see places
So I live to testify...
"THERE IS NOTHING OUT THERE"
I am a sojourner!

The Light

Christ is the light that brightens my life.
I have chosen to worship my God.
I will follow the Lord Jesus Christ
on paths I so long to trod.
Through all the good times and through the bad
I know He will always be there.
I can call on His name and He'll answer
   anytime , anyplace, anywhere.
He is my strength, on Him I depend,
I draw from that strength night and day
To heal me in sickness,to keep me in health
and be humbly willing to always obey.

It rhymes with compassion
It never goes out of fashion
It is heart’s greatest ration,
This utterly delightful passion

It rhymes with inspiration
It brings my heart such elation
It is life’s hope, my foundation
Coming to the heart with salvation

It rhymes with sweet grace
It lights up most anyplace
It stirs the spirit with its embrace
Knowing a joy nothing can replace

It rhymes with gentle charity
It brings the life it’s clarity
It assures the heart it’s prosperity
Enlightening the love’s similarity

It rhymes with the heart’s desire
It assures that love and hope conspire
It whispers of faith that brings you higher
Reassuring the spirit of its supplier

It rhymes with beautiful light
It rushes to save from the dark night
It reaches beyond the poems we write
Softening the soul with its insight

It rhymes with joyful peace
It is a wonder that will not cease
It’s creativity will ever increase
Sharing God’s grace, His masterpiece

It rhymes with Jesus, the Son
It abides in the soul He has won
It is filled with mercy for everyone
His grace and love won’t be outdone!

Premium Member A Lovely Unicorn

Love is so much and so little
Big blue moves to prove one is true
Donating a kidney or other organ
Or little thoughtful green gestures
Being there loyal and true holding hands
But in my life love is a unicorn
Running wild and free
Not limited to this world
Colorful and magical because
Two hearts beat as one
Galloping uninhibited anyplace
It is like having your own island
With everything you need upon it
Until you have it you don’t know
How limited you are
Love knows no bounds
Like the unicorn with wings
It flies above ordinary human things
Love of a child man woman or pet
Love of a hobby or dream
Is inspiring
So a kiss is like a lavender love letter
A hug is like a plush purple poem
Intimacy is the touch so strong
It is like making music with long
Flowing melodies from each heart
Soft and hard graceful and sharp
Changing growing never boring in dark
Each one reach one and never
Is there a note that is without hope
For we live in hopes of being loved
Yet we can love despite never having it returned
The unicorn will always be a myth
To those who have not had love
Transform them and show them
You are someone’s unicorn in love.

Premium Member Cast a Smile

Magical moments are happening now, and
you're going to adore this time,
making cinnamon-scented candles is trendy,
our hearts are warmed by the affection
embracing a spell of love,
leaves that sparkle in the breeze
Welcome to a fresh stage of your life,
are going to flourish.
There is love waiting to be found anyplace,
will you cuddle with a flavor this season?
of heart-shaped nuts,
will you cast passersby a smile?
or are you going to cry?

Premium Member This Is A Song - 2025

This is a song for a man or a boy
It’s a song for a woman or girl
This is a song for the straight and the gay
It’s a song for the whole of the world

This is a song for the cheerful, the fearful
and those who must stand up and fight
This is a song for the brave and the bold
and for those who are forced to take flight

Tyrannical despots
marauding invaders
Who see no wrong in what they’ve done
For those who would seek
To be conquering raiders
There’s no song… SO YOU CAN DO ONE!

The justice of peace
shall embolden our hearts
And we’ll face down your missiles and bombs
The angels for you
have no tune in their harps
So you'll just have to sing your own songs

This is a song for the black and the white
It’s a song for all shades in between
This is a song for the whole human race
And for you if you land and you're green

This is a song for the rich and the poor
Notwithstanding your hue or your tongue
This is a song for the peaceful at war
It’s a song for the old and the young

But this is a song to be sung with a smile on your face
A song to be sung anytime… to be sung anyplace
Where ‘Vive la difference’ puts the ‘human’ in the human race
And this song sings best when it’s sung with a smile on your face

Tyrannical despots
marauding invaders
Who see no wrong in what they’ve done
For those who would seek
to be conquering raiders
There’s no song… SO YOU CAN DO ONE!

The justice of peace
shall embolden our hearts
And we’ll face down your missiles and bombs
The angels for you
have no tune in their harps
SO, YOU’LL JUST HAVE TO SING YOUR OWN SONGS!

So, should you go forth with the dark in your heart
And your frown shows your mood to be black
Just sing for a while with a heartwarming smile
And you may find the world smiling back

For, this is a song to be sung with a smile on your face
A song to be sung anytime… to be sung anyplace
Where ‘Vive la difference’ puts the ‘human’ in the human race
And this song sings best when it’s sung with a smile on your face

I think I’ll live forever
I think I’ll refuse to die
Plant my body in the ground
My spirit’s going to fly

Please come fly away with me
Once this journey is complete
Universe can be our home
Our own magical retreat

Two celestial bodies
Darling lets take to the sky
Forget the why, when or how
This dream is for you and I

Gliding upon golden wings
We can dance from star to star
I would travel anyplace
So I could be where you are

Angel’s dance like fireflies
Through trails of glittering dust
In heaven magical things
Exist for people like us

It seems we have come so far
Seems the limit is the sky
When I think of who you are
Tears of joy I need to cry

Everything is what you are
You are everything to me
Long as eternity last
My soul shall be one with thee

So let’s live on forever
We will each refuse to die
Plant our bodies in the ground
As our spirits take to the sky

Human Trafficking Has No Name

That's somebody's mother
That's somebody's sister
That's somebody's brother
That's somebody's grandmother
That's somebody's grandfather
That's somebody's aunt
That's somebody's uncle
That's somebody's cousin
That's somebody's dad

See human trafficking has no
Age
Color
Size
Shape
Gender
Name

Does not even matter
it will sneak up on a individual without a warning
It can appear anywhere
School
Work
Park
Library
Mall

Does not matter what time of day
Morning
Noon
Night

It's best to just stay in the house but even that's not safe
Human trafficking can appear
Anywhere
Anytime
Anyplace

Pure Frustration
If I could not
Kiss you with my sonnets
Explain you symbolically
Or say “I love you”
In metaphorical ambiguities

Like Braille, I’ve felt tipped over you
With my flair
For words

My paper is kodachrome canvas
And in a split second thought
I’ve blown up a verbose
Enlargement of your essence

Blessed am I
Above all lonely women in love
I can illuminate with alliteration
And say
Marvelous, money hungry, miserly, macho man
You’re missing

I can, at anytime
Anyplace
Make out in meters
And when it comes to it
Write down, whatever
Fast, faster, fastest, forever
And sleep.

This was my first poem on PS. It was written in 1976 and revised prior to submission. I was young, in love and wrote free verse much more then but now I feel the need to rhyme everything in a sense of completeness.

Premium Member Metro Carpet Ride

When you wonder why I soar beyond the sky,
Feel free to inquire and a secret will be told.
It’s a mystery to me but I’ll give it a try,
And unfold for you a story that’s ages old.
Two score years ago did a magic carpet emerge,
And Metro was the name its weaver chose.
So now I go anyplace that my heart has the urge,
Even up high as the sun to see how the world arose.

I can circle the moon eating icy clouds with a spoon;
Stars I can hold like glowing diamonds in my fingers.
But still the sky begins to darken way too soon,
When the day is done and the night looms and lingers.
Nevertheless there’s fun in the light of the moon,
As my flying carpet goes circling above Katmandu.
I’m loving every twinkling of this charming boon,
As I dream of new wonders and worlds to woo.
