Premium Member We Were Two

memories are the sweetest recompense when faced with imminent death ~ by poet

We were two for forty amative years.
I turned toward you for comfort and strength.
You came to me with your deepest dark fears.
We lifted each other and talked at length.

Each doted on the other with respect.
Our distinct differences made us whole.
The other’s support we came to expect.
Each other’s success was our greatest goal.

As successive years grew long and longer,
the wrinkles showing as we became old,
the bond between us grew strong and stronger.
Subsequent aging grew tougher, more bold.

Then Old Man Death in his black raiment came.
He proceeded to do what must be done.
My shattered life will never be the same.
We were two – woefully, now we are one.*

* HEY beautiful PS poets/poetesses. The greatest compliment to me as a poetess is that I can evoke such caring, emotional comments from colleagues. I have received so many soulful, prayerful thoughts and caring condolences about this poem, I would feel dishonest if I did not report that this is entirely a work of FICTION. My humble thanks to you all. With love, Linda

Premium Member Nature's Ballad

It was the dream of night to write her message in verses of romance on nature’s ballad
So, the rising morn painted passions of heart on marigold arc in vermilion and purple
For that’s what Venus said love was, when moon relayed night’s song to amative dawn

Allure

'Tis not long, but the very next day,
away from us stealing what moments we may;
yet I already feel the ghost of your lips
upon my waiting neck, on each of their many trips.

A visit to a favorite friend with no strings,
become a stage for the joy that flesh brings;
at once long-awaited and a wondrous surprise,
to hear your delighted cries and contented sighs.

A hand on mine, the other trailing soft fingers,
you left a tingling on my back that yet lingers;
a bite here, a scratch there, a kiss elsewhere,
and I was freely lost in desire's tight snare.

We varied between laughing at each other's jests,
and gasping at each other's sensual, deft quests;
my blood rises as I write, recalling your caress,
your amative gaze as we felt each other effloresce.

A more enrapt and passionate amour I cannot remember,
and I daresay I long to once again tend this ember;
soon I would replace this echo of your taste
with my grip once again adorning your waist.

Hebephrenic Hunger

Oh ambrosial Aphrodite send me love
on Cupids arrow,
For it has vanquished like licentious lightening
in a sybaritic storm…

Fill my cup with nesting nectar that pours with
lecherous liquids of amour,
Enter my heart so it may thunder
and like heated Hurricanes lustfully kiss the shore…

Send me carnal caresses with a fervid flesh
and feral flushes to adore,
For I am lost in a vixen vortex
within a carnivorous cave of liquid lust...

Send me flirtatious kinky kisses
that hover above my bawdy being,
With the midnight moon undressed
exposing its inner light of erotic equations …

Fill my abysmal amative appetite
impassioned and inflamed,
A lachrymal liaison libidinous to the grave
For I hunger for your lewd libertine love.

Love Retrieved

Thyself it was to heal a heart distress'd,
Thine eyes were on me fixed to blow the pain,
When thou didst fill it lovingly, still ravaged,
Did I redeem the night of loving rain.

Those amative stares I can't recall,
Believe me, for I've found my best choice.
Unhurt, a glance upon thee I stole,
For my belle, indeed me, with her love cloys.

She hath the pleasure to love me well enough,
Or a world of love she fostereth in her heart
For me; thou gavest of thine the gentlest bluff,
By playing with me with no fault on my part.

Thou cling'st to sheer agony day by day,
While seest my heart to her I gave away.

Luckiest Girl In the World

For you my words have been so carefully fashioned

for you, I am wholly, completely impassioned

Over these thoughts, in my mind I have clamored

though in truth, it is obvious I am completely enamored

for you all my world and time has been allotted

my heart smiles, yes I am besotted

with you I no longer survive, but I live

it's true that with you I am amative

for you I have love, which cannot be recanted

by you, quite clearly I have been enchanted

my heart I give you freely, for I cannot be captured

with you, I am calm, and yet also enraptured

how did I come to be so lucky I wonder

did the universe stumble, is this just a blunder?

which leaves me grinning like a fool, lost in bliss, toes curled

Or am I just the luckiest girl in the world?

Wish You Were Here

Wish You Were Here

The hay bales golden, crimsons and ochre sere leaves fallen-- the caw of the Jackdaw
There was no Nightmare until after the fall, painted and swooned like a Fuseli
the clouds float in staccato and layered rich tones: vibrato from sparrows joins the chorus
the suffering alluring woman frail calling on Nature, who chides the mawkish

yet still holds in her in Her own way,
        as she ambles and thinks of loves’ long ago
sadness your becoming frailty; weakness a handmaiden, its alluring on you

and there is a mourning call from the maw of the jackdaw
and the skies go crimson, deep ambers until a now purplish blue
and the clouds become negatives as rotation continue-- I see the first star
appear and think of all the females who thought love’s true

“Boot in the face, the brute. brute heart of a brute like you” said Plath
 Tolstoy’s males prevail, the amative women frail, and frailty is true
 The tender heart a pulpy thing is simply the mind at war
And Nature now turned to dusky twilight transforms her as before

Only Provident

Blot out the whole emerging gesture
To demonstrate leading astray thy pace;
Don't rebound to toil and wrestle,
Be temperate tilt not at any rate!

Outrun ne'er surpass in celebrity quartan,
Submission ties settle better productive gain;
Prepare to ignite flame of fixed canon
Must evade excruciate feeble in vain;

Riches give delight yet defend not,
Slaking thirst aqua less attract rabies;
Pride of sagacity weak riot crazy spot,
Mere contentment if alive relay miseries;

Deny not troth behave alike recuperation
Spurt what ambition turn amative thee;
Man! thou hold energy to alter cultivation
Please the almighty by culminating blemish free;

Only provident would give certain dexterity
With vigour, venture, assume design marvelous;
Where its sacred light confirm privity:
Personality seems observing rare not fabulous.

Sunday Service

Her dark eyes, sultry and steamy
Flashed a sideward’s glance
From beneath the black lace of her Mantilla
He gave her a browse
A more appraising look altogether
Her eyes flashed up again
A lingering languid glance
Which spoke of her muliebrity
Not the putative girl
They were now the cynosure
Of each others eyes
No words were spoken
Everything was intuit
With amative study
And libidinous perusal
She his object of pulchritude
He her beloved inamorato
Then they had to separate
And the spell was broken
Until next Sundays reunion
