Better

Better dead than living,
Better terminated than throbbing,
Better left than held,
Better abandoned than acquired.

Better understand than love,
Better pouncing than dancing,
Better challenged than agitated,
Better hungry than satiated.

Better feline than canine,
Better violence than romance,
Better cunning than running,
Better punched than bunched.

Better sorry than safe,
Better thrown than bowed,
Better disturbed than serene,
Better abused than adored.

Better soiled than vowed,
Better cuffed than chatted,
Better rough than soft,
Better fire than freeze.

Better statued than tattooed,
Better chaos than calm,
Better broken than forgotten,
Better strange than ordinary.

Better… always better.

The Dreams

He wanders along the tail of the Milky Way.
His cloud-soft steps skim the blue of the sky.
He plays with time, teases the wind, grows breathless.
On tiptoe, he brushes the squares of a hopscotch.

In deep sleep, a dream carries him toward infinity —
to see his youth again, the smiles of vanished years,
to imagine that anything is possible in the night,
to become Balthazar, finally reaching the Shepherd’s Star.

The cold of emptiness, the dizziness of a cliff he flees,
the darkness of a chasm — he screams in fear as he falls.
Agitated, sweating, gasping, he wakes on borrowed life.
In dreams, anything is possible; he travels through time.

A gentle music licks him, tames his heart.
It enters his mind, awakens the source of his tears.
The sounds crash, swirl, circle around him, flattering.
The Dream is an open-sky theatre, the Harp of our Souls.

Reveries

Like a flower one picks in the morning
That one lays with the fingertips right there
In the hollow of your soft and perfumed hand.

Ocean scent that comes and goes with every wind
Rocks the hull of the boat right there
In the hollow of violent and agitated waves.

Moon, night’s beacon, lights the evening, erases the rain
Plays with me, plays with life right there
In the hollow of the valley with wet grasses.

Beautiful misty island where the sun slips through
On the prints of my steps right there
In the hollow of that dune everything becomes peaceful.

Beautiful moments of memories, sometimes a quest
Just a sensation of joyful strength
The world splashes with its beauties
No more chimera, being oneself without reverie

Right there.

if as yet we still feel agitated
at the misdemeanours of the other
it signals we are deeply sedated
seeing not the other as our brother

Premium Member Simple As That

There’re merits to simplicity!
It’s void of dark duplicity,
It’s lacking eccentricity
In its mundane basicity.

Complexity, troublesome trait,
Catchy, sophisticated bait,
Morphs into agitated state -
Perplexity where nothing’s straight.

My ex and I were simply screwed
By absence of similitude.
Me being a simplistic dude,
Irreconcilable, I conclude!

Premium Member Ode To Hamilton

My svelte bushy tailed cat, Hamilton, whose praises I laud,
Leapt onto my lap and purred in an agitated manner because,
they knew something had changed, her life altered,
things would not be the same from then on,
cats sense these things at once, they sense what is happening,
and will act at once without the slightest delay,
Hamilton, a character so utterly charming,
as the feline of the species can be,
how many times in the past did she,
whisk away things belonging to me,
and that guilt free smirk so innocent methinks,
why me no I wouldn’t steal and hide your books,
or tear them to shreds just to draw,
attention and dare me to play with her,
the way she crept in that dainty trot whilst on the prowl,
her antics were legion and so were her cat laugh tricks,
but she cast a fix stare and whined so loud,
the taxi outside beeped, hamilton knew I was going away,
It touched me so as I slowly detached from her tense clasp,
I waved to this pet of mine tearfully as she stared from the window

Premium Member Avadhuta Gita Chapter 8 verses 6 to 9

“The significance of the letter "a" is that the avadhuta is free from the bondage of hopes, is pure in the beginning, middle, and end, and dwells ever in joy.”

“The syllable "va" is indicative of him by whom all desires have been renounced, whose speech is wholesome, and who dwells in the present.”

“The syllable "dhu" is a sign of him whose limbs are grey with dust, whose mind is purified, who is free of all diseases, and who is released from the practices of concentration and meditation.”

“The syllable "ta" is significant of him by whom the thought of Truth has been made steady, who is devoid of all thoughts and efforts, and who is free from ignorance and egoism.”

Avadhuta means a realised sage,
detached, vibrant and illuminated,
in whose heart the fire of lust does not rage,
who flows with ease, never agitated,
never feeling from God separated,
who lives naturally, always awake,
no practice to adopt, none to forsake.

Born and bred in the empire
Does it prove that I’m bad
Always fit to what’s required
With my pride down in the gut
I’m deceptively serene
You are falsely agitated
I’m your yang and you’re my yin
We are Chinese belated
From the era of the sari
Beads and flowers in the hair
Our empires need to vary
So you’re gone, but still I care..

”simply choosing to stop thinking
we attain peace that’s unblinking”
            ~ quote by poet

Though we have been, seen and so known,
light of Self beyond time full blown,
assimilation yet awaits,
as we walk on this path alone.

Engaging in senseless debates,
our wayward ego celebrates,
having shrouded our inner light,
distancing us from heaven’s gates.

Mind thought to be boon, is now blight,
doubts arise and we crouch in fright,
lost in dreams we have created,
where imagination takes flight.

Feeling from God separated,
by day and night agitated,
knowing not silence is the way,
God in heart is not located.

Premium Member The Drizzle Rondine

Luscious laughter peeling out loud,
it’s high pitched timbre fills my ear.
Innocence floods the atmosphere
like syrup dripping through a cloud.
Melody raised feels well endowed
smoothing over all that you hear.
Luscious laughter,
runs through an agitated crowd.
Suddenly the solution’s near,
set on fire and never more clear.
Light drizzle on every head bowed,
luscious laughter.

Catching Fire

If everything I loved catches fire,
the men I have ever loved
would be cremated for purity's sake.

I was told to listen to the soul
before I expanded it—
to watch the earth, air, fire, water
get agitated.

The sun always works overtime,
as if she turns around the stars
and places the moon
elegantly into spaceships.

At some point, I was afraid to look up,
until I discovered
that the universe is one big intuition.

I am harassed by love.
I move in and out of it,
just to keep every lover alive,
just to keep catching their fire.

Human life is sublime creation of Him
Every birth has certain intent.
Preaching or praying
Can’t get you the unsurpassed Moksha
Indeed, He never anticipates them
Identify the chore and accomplish it.
Obstacles may hamper your attention
Continue the journey without stopping by woods
Action and result are like water and a lotus leaf
Water can never make a lotus leaf wet
Let not your mind get agitated by the outcome
You carry out action ; He manifests result.
If you rejoinder your conscience,
You can steadfast in front of God.
But God questions only those who evade
What is stupendous? Living after dying.

light imbibed must be assimilated
present always in active cognition
when awareness is not agitated
God’s love and light is our heart’s emission
unbroken then remains His transmission
poised as such liberated while alive
we see God in each form in heart’s bliss hive
