Acquiring Poems

Grateful Reflections

My mind races at times
dreaming I could sit at a piano and teach my fingers a new language,
or feel the wind on my face as I master the art of riding a motorbike.
I picture myself behind turntables,
mixing music for ten minutes straight without a single hand to guide me.
Life, to me, is about acquiring more skills, more experiences,
more ways to grow.

I sit in a room that feels like a prison,
Yet somehow it is also my furnace
a place where the fire is stoked, where my spirit is forged.
I lift my eyes, feel the cool air brush my face,
and I know that through every trial,
through every tribulation,
I have become a better version of myself.

I stand so close to changing my fate.
I will not give up, Lord.
Whatever lies along the path You set before me,
Bless me with the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding
to walk it as a great man should
to take the responsibility that many never lived to carry.

I am deeply, humbly grateful
happy to still be here,
to see another day,
to be in this position…
and to keep moving forward.

Monday a mourning day

Oh greatness, the king of days
You look so tired and stressed
Are there no maids in the race?
You acquired so much torture in quest
They violated you for your good ways
Great man full of honour, and no stress
You began encountering their riotic pace
Who killed the your power to test
You had believed in acquiring grace
Now that revolts are worth the rest
WHAT attempt have you told the face?
Oh great upstream python, you suggest
That great minds should face the race
For winning is the very best.

To my envy the trees told me

Flammable I’m nor dry tinder,
Scare me nor threaten of lightning,
Past autumn and chilly winter,
I look forward to the next spring.

I’m already left with few leaves,
Let worst of autumn’s fall arrive,
Go not by my dry woody frame,
The tree in me is all alive.

What if covered I’m with this frost,
Just around the corner is sun,
I see life well past all this change,
Every season to me is fun.

A meditating sage, no arid stem,
You had better go not by my lean frame.

Sonnet |01. 04.2025| tree, Nature, autumn, spring
Note: Many trees in India experience autumn and spring more than once a year. I watched two Peepal trees and one Neem in front of my house shedding leaves in just a few days and again acquiring them equally fast-- from a skeleton wooden frame to a tree with shimmering tender, light-coloured leaves in sun. A tree is always alive, full of life, no matter how it might appear. Looking at it and marvelling of its love of life, to an aging old man, in no mean envy, this sonnet happened.

Wonders await

Wonders await return,

Hidden within the pattern,

Concerning your connection,

The outer reflection,

Throughout thought selection.

We seek protection from ourselves,

As we delve into desires,

Dowsing our inner fires,

Mocking all who inquire,

And wish to move higher.

Seeking what they require,

To burn even brighter,

Acquiring a new state of mind,

A sense of peace hard to find,

as patterns grind gears,

Increasing our fears.

As they re appear,

Advancement is here,

As memories start to clear,

They fear my return.

Already feeling the burn,

Yearning for more,

Patterns fall to the floor,

Revealing the door,

I open and explore,

All the wonders I hoped for.

Something old, something blue,
Aged not old, a odd pairing,
which unfits the mold.
Taste acquiring,
pungent smell,
putrid looks,
uninspiring.
It is the dare that begs one to love it.
One good sense of five ain't too bad,
When you hold your nose,
close your eyes
and taste it,
breathlessly,
senselessly,
there's the rub.

I See Money

Doesn't money feel like slavery,

Delegating where you need to be.

Acquiring desires that are temporary,

Keeping you distracted so you can't see,

Because it's needed to feed the family.

As taxes accumulate rampantly,

The Rich ask the Poor for charity.

As they're selling life by the hour,

Devouring all our precious power.

Waiting to bloom like a flower,

Hour by hour Lives grind down.

Payday is owed to the town,

So there's never enough around.

The sound of new trends come around,

Throwing whats left to the ground.

Enjoying the new trend they found,

Cries of hunger all around.

Not a care in the world,

As they move toward alone.

It's time to cut the chord,

Tying us to money.

So we can see,

The power is in harmony.

Money was a fallacy,

Only gaining what was temporary.

Doing anything necessary just to carry,

Taking the power from you and me,

Stealing eternity,

You'll repeat it till you see.

A trick with a trump card

America’s next president,
Trump goes by the past precedent
And makes it not just great,
The greatest real estate,
Makes it almost a continent.

Poet’s note: And why not? Trump first wanted the US-built Panama Canal back to it, and then the whole of Greenland apart from eyeing Canada as the 51st State. Sure, he comes from real estate business, and US has the past history of acquiring lands: Manhattan from local inhabitants in 1626, Louisiana from France in 1803, and Alaska from Russia in 1867 (facts based on Second Opinion, Times of India, 8 Jan 2025)

the Gotham man

the Gotham man
He is so wealthy, perhaps the richest man
In the world, he enjoyed his lucre and sired
A dozen of male and female children
He has reached middle age, and his youth has
Gone the body, no longer as elastic as before
He has realized, as many men before him
 that
Life has a time limit
Great wealth is also power speaks; we listen when
A rich man voices his opinion he has thrown
himself into body politics, perhaps confusing
Opinions as truth
The problem is he has yet to learn the language
Of diplomacy and is on his way to acquiring
 Powerful enemies on his journey to solve
The world’s myriad problems
I believe he is a good person at heart
has to learn business and politics collide
His to be wary of hangers-on who follow him
On his road, but will leave him quickly should
disaster strike
His colossal wealth is a burden, a certain
Tiredness on his face, we can call depression.
A slight irritation in his voice; why can we not
Understand him better?

Premium MemberRamana’s inquiry

the object the subject has dreamed
moves within the dream realm so conjured
acquiring an ego, a temporary consciousness
to navigate the terrain where it has been so placed

being hypnotised by the environment
the dreamed object inevitably enters trance
forgetting its origin it then seeks to expand itself
instinctively pursuing ephemeral objects of heart’s desire

the entity by itself is merely inert dust
hemmed in by senses five and lower mind
so it remains in delusion, pausing not to inquire
the answer to the age old simple question: ‘who am I?’

recognising thus earth life as but a dream
wherein we’re both the dreamer and the dreamed
though we’re a receptor, we may yet tweak the dream
instantly by simply shifting into the vibrant void of silence

nonchalant to outcomes, ceasing to react
our nonjudgmental eye and free flowing spirit
navigates the labyrinth leaving behind no residue
by vaporising thus, ending the purpose of the dream

the paradox of enlightenment is clear
who gets illumined when there’s no one here
all that really happens is imagined boundaries blur
whereafter all that remains is the eternal living light of Self

Feelings

A jolly mind delights in acquiring knowledge,
a cheerful heart dances to the rhythm of flapping leaflets.

The pleasure of learning new things,
the satisfaction in doing what you love,
the bliss of your soaring knowledge,
the exhilaration that sends you straight to the high-heavens,
the overwhelming contentment of being in the cusp of literacy,
the contentment of being an erudite.

The heart sings in delight,
your mind sighs in euphory,
your whole being engulfed in overwhelming satisfaction.

Premium MemberFight For French Delicacy

I am reporting from Normandy,
where a cheese war has started
between two hospitality business tycoons,
for acquiring the ownership of a shipload
of Brie and Comembert soft and creamy cheese,
heavily consumed popularly in their two outlets,
Wine and Cheese Tavern and Charcuterue Shack.

As the cheese ship arrived,
the owners of these dining holes tried
to negotiate the price with the Captain, but failed,
for both the parties offered increasing competitive bids.
So, the indecisive Captain suggested
they fight out the possession issue
in the cheese war, going on now for two months,
and seems not to end, for no one is winning.
The eventual owner might be getting
a shipload of rotten French delicacy.

Written: May 09, 2024

                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Acquiring a partner soul entails a careful dive,
In calm depths, their true nature comes alive.
Only then do waves prevail, twisting their prey,
Can we track a hint of empathy in society today?
All life begins below; we are just on the surface,
It's a labyrinth of anxiety, a bay of turbulence.
The objective is to grasp peeves and apprehensions,
Despite dread, we will learn to swim via emotions.
Shadows, depths, and darkness intertwine,
We drift along in the current, seeking our line.
We bear the weight of their weary waves,
They share their aches and abet safe paves.
Yet it was a deep gaze, not one of shallowness,
Stepping into another's universe, fallowness.
To appreciate their journey and their plight,
Let's embrace depth to find peace in the night.
So, we'll all jump into the same pit in tandem!
Where does the wind lie, where truth is random?
Down memory lane, in a passionate embrace,
Can we utterly claim to comprehend your grace?
Legnacia Artemio
The looked to inspire
that it's duration would
be eternal.
the catalyst of creation
was a need to exist
the minds of artist, creators
and impressionist
seeking to put the minds of many people
together to create and construct.
what they collaborated on was to be marveled
for ages.
They wanted people in the future to envy
the past might they wish to do so
looking toward there future.
The perception to create
gives voice to the needs of
many people.
It gives cause to existence.
Acquiring influential and non
prominent members across the
all spectrums of society.
Tidal Whirlpool
Into the darkness I drove the line.
With sudden persistence I stuck their spirits.
Questions arose about my faith.
Under the shadows the powers of the air quake.
Through blended fields I struck their souls.
Yoking my aura deep into the earth.
Waking the mountain it never crumbled.
Ascending the moon, we summit the sky.
Zero percent of my trust was lost.
Accepting the limits of music's healing powers.
Into the light I became the world's darkness.
Without warning I took down all their protections.
Queens discovered my resilience and my mercy.
Under heavy silver rain those in power ran to cover.
Thoughts of my greatness whispered in all secret places.
Yoga they have never seen with Mastery of all senses obtained.
Witnessing visions almost forgotten in ancient days long past.
Acquiring strength to find hope in sorrow.
Zooming past traps laid by fools.
Asking for amber rain.
Indigo rivers of royal blood spilt.
Without doubt I belong to empires yet founded and peoples yet born.
