Best Acquiring Poems

Premium Member Pride and Joy of His Family

Having lived on earth for some time now
Impatiently he dwells, harboring self doubt.
In face of impediments he loses his mind
Acquiring dispositions like hate and lies,
Hosting showmanship to look good and wise.

Never does he claim his world to be saintly
Letting dreams reign and thoughts go wild
Acknowledging failings incapable of verity.

Risking happy tears, triumphs he celebrates
Saving saddened ones to mourn disasters,
Banking on the strength of worn-out hands
As unforgiving minutes tick-tock forever.

When he gets a turn at the wheel of fortune
Losses seem to mount at every pitch-and-toss,
Regretting moments when he says:"hold on"
For he loses the ground on which he stands.

Yet he carries on, in treacherous currents
Swimming boldly in shark-infested waters
Accepting the reality of fish-eat-fish world.

Unsatiated reveries bestow vacant dreams
Never ever venturing to walk with the Kings,
Commoner he is, like his friends in drudgery.

Pride and joy of his family, a Man he's already!

Truth he owns, is the truth he delineates,
Being a flawed man, for forgiveness he prays.

Premium Member Love Is Blind

Our fellow travelers,
What measure of trust for them?
The moment's imperfections are easily, even instinctively overlooked -
We risk for their benefit, sacrifice for their good.

Minutes stretched, the holy person spoke to all comers
As I heard love's woman,
Hanging on the pierced and tattooed man.
What did she see, he was fractional to me;
Her freely-given look demanded no return,
Love's area of the mind spreading over others.
Was it that he'd only hit her once?

The sightless mother's fingers over the face of her child
Tenderly traced that juncture of skin and hour,
Acquiring an instant in time.

Miseducation of the *******

Mentors like priests preparing me for holy rite
Institutional slaves to a false trinity
Subduing adventure, exploration and discovery to classroom rigor
Eternal stairway ... moonbeams to the golden dream
Dismatling who I am so I become who you want me to be
Urges denied constructing scaffolds, setting beam
Castling on beam, I climb like Jack the ogre tree
Ability acquiring arrows for what's embattling me
Tensions beyond the classroom, teacher grading my
Intelligence as if it were a canvas to her eye
Opportunity has too narrow a door for all our differences
Nestled in her pocket, I see the ogre search in vain.

Offering us like children to the fires of Molech
Frantic prayers sibilant in flickering tongues of despair

Teeming the locus of the African nightmare
Husked of gold, silver, uranium, copper and diamond skies
Each one scrambles up the vine compassless of self

Nations fall - without the eyes of love we are blind
Emerging people shaken out in global disarray
Groaning for nothing from classroom to classroom
Refer to their budgets and see what is prioritize
Oysters get their pearls from pain, I know, yet
Errors must be corrected, education must mean more, we
Substance truth only by the purge of a regulated history.

Premium Member Opportunity Expiring

Pardon me, I am aspiring
to some day be retiring,
but first I must be acquiring
a position. Though I’m not keen on perspiring
I admit I have been admiring
your benefits and employees’ attiring,
and since a salary I’m requiring,
and I trust you aren’t frequently firing,
and I promise not to be with unions conspiring,
I thought I’d simply go about inquiring
if perhaps you were hiring?

Liquified Dream

As a splattering of genius juices streamed and eddied within my
cranium, opening covert courses of enlightenment, splurging
thoughts and gushing ideas, wherein, creativity was some
resonating flood of information gurgling afterthought
culminating in an outburst of energetic sensation
drenched with a peace of mind and soaked in
a sense of fulfillment surging channels of
knowledge to utter overflowing, deluge
implementing conscious awareness
immersed in reconsideration and
saturated in highlights that are
steeped into erudition with a
dynamic focus like spilled
acquiring that projects
the sensory cells in
a whirlpool simply
slipping into my
imagination.

Sgt Pepper Mama Africa

This is my Sgt Pepper Song

The 1 that never got on

Because this was not a Pop Song

More a delve into the truth a mirror of reality

Take a Drive with Me
And in less than an hour
This is what you will see

Amarulla Fruit covered in Beatles and buzzing Flies
Being sold in battered Old 1.5L Plastic Coke Bottles
By native women with babies strapped to there back
Anything for a Shilling or a Dime

Under African Sky
Burnt Red Sand under Bare Foot
Where the children while the days away

Yet
Some see poverty
Some cry slaves

Because they cannot comprehend
They measure not happiness
 In terms of acquiring things

But take refuge rather in the simple things

A long walk to frreedom drinking water
And a Plot called Home
with a Corrugated Shack upon it

And nothing but Love
To reside within it

But ask a question
Speak no lies
Ask me if I wished to swap

My pampered life with 1 of them
Honestly I would have to reply
Sadly
No

Because selfish is
As selfish be

The Rich live Poor

And the Poor Die Happy

Bound by a communal sense of Electricity
That cuts through condescending patronizing sympathy
And unwarranted Charity

That in Reality
Only makes the Giver feel Better

And the Receiver a Debtor

Military Philosophy - Mettle Is a Better Word Or Term

[MILITARY PHILOSOPHY]: METTLE IS A BETTER WORD OR TERM!

Might strength along with an image be a concept to consider?
Else, to be strong is considered to be mighty.
Tapping into another’s reserve is a way to achieve an advantage.
The test of fate is allowed.
Like acquiring power from a source of pleasure.
Easy seen when you win.

Inoculate your fortress to be invincible.
Surface your mind to ruminate stratagem.

Absolute absorption of the power you possess.

Be of focus and conquest.
Engage your thoughts and emerge with invigorating ideas.
Trade show your heavy artillery to those you trust.
Take away knowledge to acumen the estate.
Establish an institution of today.
Respond when required even if vulnerability is present.

Wage efficaciously for thorough use of all resources.
Ornate to eradicate poor will.
Ruminate the home front amply.
Defeat downfall and roar once again.

Obstinate for thorough insight.
Resist when in question.

Time efficaciously for thorough use of all resources.
Edify to educate poor will.
Ruminate the home front amply.
Muddle downfall to roar once again.

Spirit and Faith
I never walk alone no matter where I go. My thoughts never go unheard nor do my
whispers fall on deaf ears. Always by my side waiting to hear my every thought and
holding me close at all times.
The things I whisper the wind carries as if to tell all the world there is a secret
stirring in the breeze. You see my thoughts and whispers are set free. No I am
never alone.

I have a warm feeling that surrounds and fills me with beautiful thoughts. I see
exciting things everywhere I look and know they are to remind me of what is known
within my heart and saved deep inside my mind. Somehow I know something more
spectacular is to come.

Together we travel this life and hold each other to light the path and guide the way.
Comfort comes from knowing, feeling, and sensing these things not shared with
others. Instinct I say, “Just a gut feeling”, but beside me, although those around me
are unaware ~ I never walk alone!

Soaring with love bound by heaven bringing intuition, wisdom and passion keeping
us connected stronger than any imagined emotion or dream. I know and feel life
lessons from sensing, acquiring and accumulating knowledge given gently as you
are forever influencing there beside me. Walk with me and keep me safe as you
open my window of curiosity with insight, reassuring with a peek of what’s on the
other side. Every beat of my heart and color of my soul follows a journey filled with
open-mindedness and love.

Knowing your there holding my dreams and safeguarding my heart with love gives
me the strength to follow unknown paths. Courage is being gently guided over
stepping stones with Intuition and held up as you walk by my side.

The Call To Duty: a Soldier's Poem

I went straight from High school into the service,
I was feeling proud but extremely nervous.
My mother cried with tears of joy,
she said, “I will try to stop referring to you as my little boy.”

I arrived at Basic Training with a bus load of candidates,
we were greeted quite loudly at the main entry gates.
The Drill Sergeants called us everything they could think of,
we knew, at least from them, we would receive no love.

We were too young to drink and barely able to vote,
we were all different races, but we were in the same boat.
We had eight weeks to learn how to work as a team,
we started to believe that it was all a bad dream!

We went to bed late but were up before dawn,
we do more before nine is definitely right on!
Basic Training was tough but we all got through it,
things would get worst and we pretty much knew it.

We would be on the front lines as Infantry Soldiers,
there would be a lot of responsibility put on our shoulders.
The first orders we received took us to the Middle East,
our primary mission was to bring about peace.

For the first time in our lives we were in a foreign land,
the things we saw you could never understand.
The precision bombings caused so much destruction,
the whole place looks like it needs reconstruction.

We are under attack on a regular basis,
our so-called enemy is in more and more places.
Perhaps we are acquiring more and more enemies,
the hate for us here is like an infectious disease.

We were instrumental in removing a terrible dictator,
but the level of danger here has gotten even greater.
Nobody wants to admit that we are in a civil war,
many of us are now on our second or third tour.

I have lost some of my comrades along the way,
we all know the risks and that is all I can say.
We will defend our country from all enemies, foreign and domestic,
we are a force to be reckoned with and we are not to be messed with!

We will win this so-called war on terror,
messing with the United States was their biggest error!
A successful completion of our mission would be a thing of beauty,
we are proud we answered “the call to duty.”

Minority

One would think that the feeling of being a slave would create understanding
One would think that racism would die off and cease to overtake our surrounding
Equality has become but a faint memory buried with a man Africa once so greatly looked up to
Labels still floating around, separation amongst people. All subject to the race or ethnic group they belong to

Don’t you think there was a little furry passed with a law?
Just a little vengeance kneaded in, tables turned, no longer holding the short end of the straw?
So arose the system with a pretty name “Affirmative action”.
5-1 the number of bullets in the gun gradually making a subtraction

Acquiring our positions based on our skin colour instead of based upon or level of education
Supressing the “Suppressors” with lethal repercussions and lack of evaluation
So carry on placing the one colour above the other, turning us against each other until the streets run red with anarchy
Then hypocritically teach your kids about equality, living one foot in and one foot out of controversy.

One would think we as a nation would learn from a neighbouring sunken country. Stay united and grow far beyond expectation
One can only hope for these lines to be erased, for skin colour, gender and religion factors to be cancelled out and do away with exaggeration
The world is the way it is and shall remain as such, the universe will be the way it should be keeping the balance as top priority
So even if I cannot change the world. With my words I keep spreading the love! One of the minority.

I Hate Home Depot!

I Hate Home Depot!

I hate Home Depot!
Just the sight of that
orange and white sign
makes my stomach turn.

However I know every
square inch of that store,
I’ve spent
thousands of hours there
as a paying customer.

I know what all is in the
garden section for all of the seasons.
I know where to go to find the
nuts, screws, nails and bolts. I can guide you
through the wallpaper and
the paint section.

I’ve bought sheets of plywood, lots of pcv pipe,
dozens of American Standard toilets,
ceiling fans, light fixtures, HVAC systems,
generators, even a riding lawn mower.

I’ve bought paint and waited to have it
mixed properly. I’ve rented
and driven dozens of their trucks before.

I’ve bought power drills, leaf blowers
screwdrivers, hammers, cabinets,
patio furniture, a refrigerator, an oven,
and an air conditioner.
I’ve even rented a carpet cleaner too!

But I could care less, if I ever step foot
in a Home Depot ever again. All of my hours
clocked in that store went to the benefit
of my ex.

He was the one that financially,
emotionally and personally
gained from my presence in
Home Depot.

So what was the point of me acquiring
all of that knowledge that didn’t benefit
me at all then and probably won’t benefit
me ever again?

It seems like such as waste of my time
and energy now.
Believe me when I say
I would rather watch paint dry than
go to Home Depot, I mean ever word
of that statement!

One summer I practically read all of
War and Peace in the orange and
white store from Hell!

But I can show you how to repair a large hole
in a piece of sheetrock. I know how to
paint the inside and the outside of a house.
I know how to install travertine in a house,
slanted and straight.

I have installed granite countertops,
hardware for a sink and the basin too.
Many other home improvement projects
I learned there.

What a fool I was!
Oh well, that’s life.
Who knows maybe
someday I’ll use some
of that knowledge that I
hated every minute learning!

Premium Member Deaths Salute To Accomplishment

Weak and weary is the new physical outlook
while the skin remolds with lots of longitudes.
Hair dyed by nature itself,
Washed by legacies spreading
like the waves of an excited sea.

History presented with a new garment
through positive actions in great magnitude.
Looking back the steps, decorated with humanity’s smiles,
awarded so many caps and acquiring the ranks of a sir.

As the cycle completes as expected,
time will act and never change its attitude.
The sounds of death’s trumpet giving out a call
gradually gets there to first give a humble bow.

In his house, hades spreads the red carpet
Setting up a trip so far and permanent.
The journey is over,
a triumphant entry ensures into everlasting solitude
