Years flown so fast
Remembering childhood and adult memories
Until today that I turned Fifty
Starting a new decade, in a new country
Acquiring new knowledge and skills
Trying to be the best version of myself
Poems
are true feelings
set there for all to read.
They are moments of one’s own life.
They inspire the ones who need it the most.
The words can reach into our hearts,
acquiring attention
to understand
poems.
was on a quest
to postpone
inevitable downfall
was always trying
to satisfy
need to control
situations outside
comfort zone
inferior effort to
try and reach a
level of contentment
based upon acquiring
things outside the self
failed miserably
The Beauty of life,
is not just falling in Love
buying a Home
or purchasing a new car.
Nor is it traveling,
hanging out with friends

Something old, something blue,
Aged not old, a odd pairing,
which unfits the mold.
Taste acquiring,
pungent smell,
putrid looks,
uninspiring.
It is the dare that begs one to love it.
One good sense of five ain't too bad,
When you hold your nose,
close your eyes
and taste it,
breathlessly,
senselessly,
there's the rub.

Embalming the Conscience
Embalming the conscience,
of a world catatonic with apathy.
Apathy worn on sleeves,
with shimmering cuff-links of brazen indifference.
Shopping, mall-hopping, acquiring.
Squinting at designer tags.
Ah! But the party never ends,
as we giggle and flirt and drink and screw.
While corpses burn,
nailed to the cross.
And while the others scavenge,
for scraps in the dirt.

Together we would be the envy of all
Easy to leave fairytale and fantasy in movie
Waste time not and live the damn thing
Foolish are those to make me regret a thing
Conventional notions on life they bring
They don’t hear the music I continue to sing
Life changing it is when you burn the white flag
