None of the guys
ever asked me out
they teased me
or just froze me out

I wasn’t stuck up
I was shy
I’d just come from China
that is why

I didn’t know the styles and trends
or even where I should begin
there wasn’t much that I could say
I never talked much anyway..

so I sat there
and read

I was an incredibly
epic fail

To all the guys
who called me names
that tagged my locker
and tried to shame me

I wasn’t snooty
I was shy
I’d just come from China
that’s the why

I didn’t know the styles and trends
that let a new girl fit in
I’d never even used the Internet
I was as lost-in sauce as a girl gets..

so I sat there
and read

Which eventually
got me into Yale.

Old Promises 2019

Bright young things
the class of 2019
Tories with their fresh rosettes
they said they could level up the Red Wall
now bide their time to forgotten promises
in their brazen suites
lost chance saloon in a cavalier fashion
ill affording suffragette society
look at them in their run in
Labour ushers a bravo return,
The Reform party
picks up on the crumbs
of discontent

Premium Member 2019 Remembering the Crows

Early mornings, bright ice blues as life wakens
birds and squirrels scratching for seeds and nuts
black crows pound at the tree or wait for cars to drive by
crushing the hardest nuts clever crows
now winter’s broken their little dance, the nuts are gone
and three black crows complain each early morning
where they remain on the fence by their now bare tree
they’ve learned to wait for me watching the window
until I feel their eyes staring at me scratching at the post
demanding their walnut tree’s meaty nuts, now in jars
the tree has three aging leaves slowly curling
dry brown-grey soon to fall
but three black crows do not leave the fence
until I throw nuts and corn on their rail obtaining quiet acceptance
each reaches for a kernal to hold in their long beak
with sparkling black eyes staring approval— a quick squawk
they disappear into the large pines across the street
those same three creatures each morning appear
on my fence post near the steamy kitchen window
waiting to see if I am still here.

The Effects of the 2019 Pandemic

The Effects of the 2019 Pandemic

According to reports from the CDC,
A mysterious virus has invaded our country.
COVID –19 is the name it’s been given,
Derived from its source, and the year of it's discovery!

Questions all about, as to what, when, where, why and how?
Hospitals overcrowded, pondering, what do we do now?
Epidemiologists working feverously, trying to understand,
This invisible element that, has infiltrated our land!

Businesses are closing, leaving many without a job,
As this pandemic tightens its grip and Liberties are being robbed.
We are all being held captive, by an enemy we cannot see,
Leaving many to whisper, Lord, help me understand please.

Suddenly, out of nowhere a voice can be heard,
“Fear not, for I have You All in the palm of my hands.”

Sandra is early
She creeps in
sits in the last seat in the back
her head is down
she wants no one to see her
luckily no one ever does

Chuck is loud and proud
coming in surrounded by his posse
They also march to the back
One yells at Sandra to move
She moves to the last chair
without speaking or lifting her head

Terry sits in the front row
no one knows if she is a she or a he
his/her hand is always up
he/she knows all the answers
if the teacher stops calling on him/her
he/she yells out the answers

Veteran's Day 2019

Thank You doesn't seem like enough,
When referring to this day.
In fact I doubt there is a phrase,
Deserving enough to say...

You thoughtlessly take up arms,
To defend our liberty.
Not thinking twice- Risking life,
For people like you and me.

Leaving family and friends behind,
You go to do what you do.
And I wouldn't be free- To share thoughts like these,
If not for folks like you.

On this day dart aside for you,
Let's make sure this is crystal clear.
I thank you each and every day that I live,
Not just one day a year.

Living and breathing super heroes,
I'm so glad you're on my side.
Protecting all good from evil forces,
And kicking ass worldwide.

From the bottom of my heart, Thank You for your service.

2019

2019 worse year of all time
I loss my power, love, respect
For myself. As I pleased another
Man he beat me until I was
Worthless.

2019 was my worse year I
Found out love has many
Forms. I was already a victim
Of rape now domestic violence
Already feel like giving up.

2019 taught me my weakness
Taught me my darkness
Taught me my depression was
Real. Taught me I failed at life.

2019 also was a wonderful year
I found my abuser and he found his
Punching bag

5th June 2019: Death Is Lovely

Today is a good day,
Thousands dying but its still a good day
I love how cruel he is, its so hidden but pure

Yet,you should've seen me years ago
The tears streamed like they had a fate
I can't feel my soul I wonder how.

Do you like what you see?
My sister pray on her knees
That is her hardest work
A work to remind herself that god is good
That all that is, works for the good of her

A 5th June in the year of 2019
Took the life of a good boy
You can't get me now...

Friday of March 2019

It was a Friday when I first encountered a panic attack. I was sitting still and then I wasn't. I could feel my heart cracking. I swear I heard it break. I could also hear my body crying for help as it shook, slowly at first and with an alarming disturbance after. It was a Friday when I realized that I was lonely, wanting to cry but failing to even let my emotions out. My bones, now making their way up, in my throat, wanting to come out. I was prepared, I was ready, but I was also dying. It was a Friday when I first felt how desperation and loneliness have a thin line in between. I was desperate, I needed love, I also needed a human touch. It was a Friday when I lost all hopes of finding love as I slept alone through the night, tossing and turning, building up scenarios that might never happen. It was a Friday when I first encountered a panic attack, today is a year after and I still don't know how to deal with it.

Corona Virus 2019

World wide scare anew
Man-made virus spread over
Death on news pages

Ill mortality
Tough human evolution
Unacceptable

Fix immunity
Mass consciousness transcends fear
Only cure we had.

2019-Ncov Another Flu

Hello, guys! am I new to you?
Don't be scared I am just a virus
I came to the human cycle recently
As some Chinese eat wild animal

Come on! Let's tell you something
About my attitude toward people
Even some people have been killed
Actually, I am much soft tempered
As a matter of fact, I don't want to kill

I am trying to dwell well in a new life
And trying to be your friend as possible
Come on! Don't feel too scary, friend!
I am right turning to be another flu

I will leave when summer is coming
And come back as the weather is cold
And now I am ready to leave!
And may I visit again alike another flu

California Winter 2019

we wake to grayness
flash flood warnings
and mud slides on the news

constant rain pelting on roofs
small lakes and ponds in yards
drainpipes pulsing and gushing

evacuation a rare but possibility
monsoon in California

2019 New Year

Today is the
First day of 2019,
What this year brings
Is still yet to be seen.

I'm sure it'll have
It's highs and it's lows,
It'll have laughter, and smiles
It'll have tears and woes.

Though 2018 is
No longer here
2019 is a
Whole new year

To add to your story
About the journey of life
To tell of your victories,
To tell of your strife

Share your story of
How you picked yourself up
And your perspective on
How much is in the cup

Is the cup half full
Or is it half empty
It's all about perspective
It's all about how you see

Now the year 2018
is over and done
I learned so much
And have had so much fun.

I have met many new people
And had a fabulous time
Even though some opinions
were different than mine

But as I look forward to
What next year will bring
My wish for you all
is to have an AMAZING 2019
