There's not to many left
But we have been around
Got our share of those N A's
And feeling Kinda down

So we looked to one another
Then we looked down at the list
Some were disappointed
Still others were just P***ed

So I now just propose
That we make another list
for all those Veteran poets
The ones they seem to miss

Chorus
The Society Of Unlisted Poets
Is what we'll call this site
You can count on S.O.U.P.
To do what you knows right

Instrumental

Why are all the same poets
Just seem to shift around
No new top ten writers
Are never ever found

So we looked to one another
Then we looked down at the list
Some were disappointed
Still others were just P***ed

So I now just propose
That we make another list
for all those Veteran poets
The ones they seem to miss

Chorus
The Society Of Unlisted Poets
Is what we'll call this site
You can count on S.O.U.P.
To do what you knows right

Veracity

I have often wondered if they blundered
or if there's any truth to the advertising
within the words written on me
a simple clothing label advising
a promise a guarantee
100% Cotton
but does it refer to the garment or myself
the mere material it is printed on
a paradox perhaps
all of which goes to show
it's a dilemma the answer to which
this enquiring mind needs to know

Premium Member Your Journey To 100

On your journey to one hundred, I say,
Try laughing, learning, and loving each day.

You’ll meet many travelers along the way.
Share memories with others, take time to pray.

Enjoy a sunset, eat a piece of pie.
Take in life’s beauty and quit asking why.

Take a long walk as often as you can.
Talk with a loved one, walking hand in hand.

Thank your Creator for all you’ve received,
For the comfort in times when you grieved.

Open your heart letting love flow right through.
Happy you’ll be in whatever you do.

70 percent Love, 100 percent Pretend

I gave you all of me,
But you counted only what you liked.
You held my hand,
But never held my heart right.

I poured in 100% love,
You drank just enough to stay,
70% maybe—
But I kept acting like that was okay.

We were photos with filters,
Smiles stitched on pain,
A play that fooled the crowd
But drained us behind the frame.

I pretended this was enough,
Like pretending could turn hollow into whole.
Like silence could save
What had already leaked through the soul.

So here’s my goodbye without rage,
Just a heart that learned too late—
Love shouldn’t feel like guessing
Or shrink to fit someone else’s plate.

Premium Member Not 100 Percent Of The Time

If you can't say something nice
It's best to say nothing at all
That's going to be me from now on
My humour is often misinterpreted
Causing an undesirable reaction
I wrongly assume everyone sees through it
And that it IS simply humour
I apologize, but this is me
It has always been me to make light of situations
That are uncomfortable to deal with
We all have our own way of getting through
Mine is to rely on humour
It works a good percentage of the time
BUT NOT 100 PERCENT OF THE TIME

How to Make Love to a Didgeridoo 100

She inhales the aurora,
breath laced with frozen with light speed
Pulsar fingers stretch through cirrus gauze,
her bodice bending like solar flares.

Astronaut
A quasar shudders behind her lips,
erupting across the event horizon.

Space folds—
she unspools like a nebula unraveling,
luminous in the underworld
aphrodisiac of your vanilla fragrance

Tomorrow's dreams shall manifest today,

Premium Member The 100 Dollar Bill

I only got a Blue Cheese
and I need a burger bad
said he’d only take Dixie
or a Jackson at a push
now I’m beggin’ on my knees
but don’t wanna make him mad
I’m in a foodie fixie
but he said “go kiss my tush”

Premium Member 100 Healthy Years

It was some years ago
Exactly how many, I do not know
But I would venture to guess
It was 25 years, no less

To my Lord I made a request
That he would allow this quest
There were many places to go
There were many people to meet
So many more things to write about
A myriad of questions to conceive
Multitudes of answers to receive

I humbly desired of him 100 years of
Life upon this earth before my demise
He alone knows and sees all my days
And he alone determines all my steps.

Robins seem to enjoy my yard
Awaiting the coolness of dewed mornings
To awaken the wriggling worms
A seasonal offering favored by the feathered ones

Dandelion waiters tend to the color and flavor
Serving up “all natural”, organic, pesticide free offerings
They can vouch for the claim
As they have managed the place for 30 years

A bold red Cardinal sits atop a fence post preaching
A Beyonce’ butted ground hog scurries away
Doves coo from within the safety of the hedges
A house cat stalks them from a windowsill

Buds dance to the music of the wood winds
A sparrow choir sings an opening hymn
As a disinterested hawk rides the updrafts
A chipmunk takes his order to go

Jack 100

The wisdom of life is what we yearn
Yet, ill prepared from our lessons to learn

Lacking beliefs and actions, just empty words said out loud
Without authentic conviction, unable to stand tall and proud

Feelings of heaven and feelings of hell
Sometimes the difference is hard to tell

Locked firmly within, however dark or disturbed
Carrying the burden, so others remain unperturbed

Nobody knows where I’ve actually been
Only imagining the things that I’ve seen

The turmoil of where’s why’s and how
Remain a secret, at least for now

she walks with angels
  in heaven's angelic realm

Premium Member Meadow

I walked into a meadow
Such beauty did I see
Turns out it's been here
All this time
Revealed so gently

I walked into a meadow
Tamed in part
Yet mostly wild
I skipped among the flowers
Felt the freedom of a child

I walked into a meadow
Shared the warmth
Of her caress
The sunlight of her radiance
A view designed to bless

I walked into that meadow
Without purpose
Soon to learn
A heart can hold more love inside
Than out can ever earn

Staying 100

Written By: D. Collins 8/30/23

Think only of the good ole days and the ones you have left.
Regardless of what people say, just know you did your best.
Whatever is in front of you, approach it with a smile.
Always have the attitude you’ll be here for a while.

Avoiding negativity will certainly extend your life.
Remain the coolest in the room when everything is hyped.
I cannot teach our children on how it used to be.
Unless, without doubt, I am true to me.
