Spiritual and instinctive are words that describe my feelings when
I first meet homosapiens who I have never met before.
Sometimes inner warmth I feel, my psyche is serenely calm.
Instinctively I know our souls have met in previous lives.
Spiritually I feel unnerved in the presence of a person
whom I know does not present a threat, but somehow
feel them mar my soul and slither inside my head
These humans my soul repels or they will wreak havoc
Our spirits delineate lessons we’ve learnt living through each life
Developing our souls we are striving towards our final pinnacle

Soft scents of frangipani invade my nostrils in the twilight air,
pellucid thoughts from deep within made me aware of my senses.
I look over yonder and notice lovely ripples in the lake.
Luscious blueberries catch my attention and my mouth waters,
next I hear the beautiful sound of mockingbirds singing .
I felt like my feet were standing in a place of history and strength,
as I embarked on ancestral trails of my people's past.
At once pride and appreciation began to infuse my entire being.
I look up and notice a hint of vermilion in the beautiful sky,
And a menagerie of birds from the distant past soared above me.

I lost my job today
Because my boss couldn't pay
He thought it was okay
And I'd work another day
Without being paid no way
Was all I could say
Pick up keys he may
Tuesday I'll fix your pay
What more could he say
The waiting game I play!

Unending was our life’s revelry
That lifted voyages, so merry
And charmed whispers ever said
Still chime so gently overhead:
Yet midnight called your name ;
To embrace time’s holy flame.
~
Until that one last remembrance
My being started to dance…
Love resides through heavenly sky
Without need to echo goodbye.

The smell of dead flowers,
Life dances at "zero hour"-s,
No wonder man is doomed,
when you sit there, deplumed.
Move away, you peasant mongrel,
I'm not to be held,
accountable or to any sense.
Lime-a-way,my sins, oh darling,
even after I washed hands,
they still feel so damning.

Promises I haven’t kept yet
Float in day’s dusty dusk,
I tell old sun wait
Don’t set until I ask.
Memories enter year’s last night
Lie somewhere in domain unknown
My dawn new sun lights
Dreams dazzle in uplifted horizon.
Music of life I’ll hear
I promise the New Year.
December 29, 2017.
when the moon is hot
and the sun a cooling
the stars lose their shine
when the clouds a fooling.
when one is in love
the whole world’s a grooving
her frame fits the glove
when her body’s a moving.
in a moment of muse
she sure lit my fuse.

Birds flutter in autumn breeze
Kids playing in the sun
The dog scratch its fleas
As the orange sky shun
Bonfires blaze at the beachside
And the party heats up
Surfers catch a high tide
Couples in the corner makeup
Settling in for the night
Dreaming of autumn’s bright light

Bringing in the New Year
Sweet kisses of days ember
Into sparks warming the airs
Of waning days of December
As the New Year stares
Foreplay never felt so good
For those last days countdown
Anticipating the release of corkwood
My feet went to town
Dancing the New Year in
Two steps smiling her grin
connie pachecho

No contest entry.
I would write for you
a poem simple and true,
where the words fall short
due to another's ill report
of this love for you.
Here is my open heart
waiting for you to chart
ins and outs of deepest love
unspoken lines and rhymes thereof
the gift I freely impart.

She has deepest blue eyes
With golden hair to match
Tight fittin' jeans her size
With a little knee patch
I'm in love no doubt
There's nothing else to say
She's all I think about -
On my mind all day
I am a simple man
Doin' the best I can

I’m with my friend Mable
seated at her dining table;
her roast turkey’s bone dry
and I can’t understand why!
She cooks for the navy
but she cannot make gravy;
it ends up in lumps
and pours in gloopy clumps!
I’ve made it quite clear
I’ll make gravy next year!

I walk the path where
leaves are strewn, and there
beneath the trees, I hear
the sound of footsteps near
As you come into view
your smile brightens the day
And though skies are gray
You bring sunshine my way
As rain begins to fall
We hear distant thunder call

Snow fell . . . a blizzard blurred.
The sound of prayer murmurs-
