Ancestral Trails-10 Words 10 Lines Challenge

Soft scents of frangipani invade my nostrils in the twilight air,
pellucid thoughts from deep within made me aware of my senses.
I look over yonder and notice lovely ripples in the lake.
Luscious blueberries catch my attention and my mouth waters,
next I hear the beautiful sound of mockingbirds singing .

I felt like my feet were standing in a place of history and strength,
as I embarked on ancestral trails of my people's past.
At once pride and appreciation began to infuse my entire being.
I look up and notice a hint of vermilion in the beautiful sky,
And a menagerie of birds from the distant past soared above me.

Perhaps the most natural incorporation of the required words in any of the poems I've read. The flow is very smooth.

What I wrote moments ago about your constant improvement, well, this poem proves my words even truer than I knew. Leaps and bounds, Alexis - leaps and bounds, not only are your words more and more poetic, but a confidence shines in each stanza. I think I'm glowing! Beautiful work. 2nd Stanza, 1st line: 'feet were', k? I am even more excited to read more of you than I was before, it is amazing! Blessings ... CayCay
