Contest Description
What to Submit?
1 original, NEW poem on the theme of a "Haiku Sonnet". This form was originally created by David Marshall. The basic premise of the haiku sonnet is simple: 4 3-liner haikus (5.7.5 syllables only) plus a couplet of either 5.5 or 7.7 syllables, which adds up to 14 lines, the same number of lines found in a sonnet.
* Use www.howmanysyllables.com to check your syllable count.
* The final couplet must be either 5.5 or 7.7 syllables and should rhyme.
* No names.
* All the haikus and the couplet must be connected by the same theme, i.e, nature
* no capital letters allowed throughout your poem, including the title.
* Add "hs" at the end of your title.
* Place it under the "Other" form.
