Contest Description

Please note: Only those who received a Soup Mail from me confirming that they are a 2022 Poetry Marathon Qualifier may enter this contest. This contest is for the 2022 Poetry Marathon Contest confirmed qualifiers and will determine their final, overall placement in the Marathon. Be sure to check your Soup Mail if you haven’t already. Please do not enter this contest if you did not receive a Soup Mail confirmation from me. If you feel you should have received a Soup Mail confirmation from me but didn’t, then Soup Mail me. If you have any questions concerning this, please Soup Mail me :)
A Note to Confirmed Qualifiers:
If you’ve received a Soup Mail from me notifying you that you qualify to enter this contest, congratulations! This is a Standard Contest that will determine the sole winner of the Marathon, plus the 2nd through 15th place overall winners. YOUR final placement will be determined by 1) Your final poem’s ranking and 2) Your overall performance in the marathon.
To enter the FINAL Contest, confirmed qualifiers will need to do the following:
1. Choose and submit a poem from any of YOUR poems that placed 1st through 10th in any of the 2022 Poetry Marathon contests. Only YOUR poems that have already been placed in the 2022 Poetry Marathon contests will qualify to be submitted. DO NOT SUBMIT A NEW POEM. DO NOT change the poem’s title. The poem's title must be the same as when it was placed. From YOUR poems that have already been placed, choose the poem you feel will do best to maximize your final placement. For example, you might decide to choose your poem that placed the highest (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.).
2. At the bottom of your poem, please list the date, contest name, and sponsor name. Here’s an example: February 5, 2023 / 2022 Poetry Marathon Qualifiers' FINAL Placement Poetry Contest / Sponsor: Mark Toney
3. Your poem must not exceed a maximum of 30 lines.
You’ve already done the hard part. You’ve qualified to enter the FINAL contest. What will be your overall placement? Remember, your FINAL placement will be determined by 1) Your final poem’s ranking and 2) Your overall performance in the marathon.
Feel free to contact me with any questions. Remember the #1 rule of marathoners—FINISH!
Cheers!
