Emile Pinet
(Click for Poet Info...)

I was born in a small city, (Bathurst) New Brunswick, Canada, the third eldest of thirteen children, ten girls and three boys. I’m the product of a semi-dysfunctional family, brought up by a physically controlling father, versus a loving nurturing mother. Many of my poems reflect the uniqueness and special circumstances of my upbringing and love of nature.

Robert Lindley needs to know we wish him well

My friend Robert wrote me the following poem on soupmail and I would like to share it with you all.

A dark cloud has engulfed this old heart.
With all the deep malice its storms can impart.
This tired old poet can find very little relief.
Other than small solace given from sad memories's grief.
With my hands now tied, my weeping soul crying out.
I fumble to now see what it is all about.
This night's melancholy sends ghastly pains.
Fruits of weakened inks and darker chaotic refrains.
This storm, its winds tearing down.
Sending joy and art's spirit to slowly drown.
Alas! This pen refuses to heed once greater demands
Preferring shallow noise of much newer bands.
With this testament, poetry's gleam says goodbye
And in its wake, salty tears fall from lonesome pouring skies
Lonesome pouring skies
Deep chills abound
Fate's dark now denies
Ardor here once found.

Our friend Robert needs a hug, lets show him how much we care!

Thank you my friends. I truly appreciate the kind thoughts and prayers sent my way. These very nice comments and well wishes are indicative of the camaraderie and true character of so many of the fine poets here at PoetrySoup. I sincerely thank one and all for this gift. Now I am leaving for doctor's appointment but will try later to answer soupmails and the many comments made on my poems, as well as at this very thoughtful blog, my good friend Emile presented here. God bless..

Emile, I also received this very deep and emotional poem of despair from Robert. I was so saddened to learn about the dark storm he is facing, and I responded to him personally with my sincerest words of support and comfort. Robert, please know that warm hugs, thoughts, and prayers from all of us are coming your way. God bless you. Sandra

In Robert's well, I see ink, volumes of poems that have depth and character that personifies him. As I peek inside a teardrop falls. It's not dark, for I see his light. Robert, I wish you serendipity and more.

I don't know Robert, but he has commented on a few of my poems, and also sent a very nice message to me. I am not aware of his situation, but I am sending many healing hugs in the wind. May each one curl around him and bring some comfort. He is in my thoughts and prayers. ~ Brandy

I received this as well, and responded to my dear friend Robert personally ... he is going through something many of us fear and pray never happens, and needs all the support he can get. He has mine, unconditionally, and thank you for posting, Emile - prayer WORKS, whatever you believe, and the more, the better. <3

This is a very sad poem and has an air of finality about it. I sincerely hope this is not so and that Robert will be able to return to us. Best Wishes Robert.

Old age shows no compassion, but a warm hug works magic.
