I was born in a small city, (Bathurst) New Brunswick, Canada, the third eldest of thirteen children, ten girls and three boys. I’m the product of a semi-dysfunctional family, brought up by a physically controlling father, versus a loving nurturing mother. Many of my poems reflect the uniqueness and special circumstances of my upbringing and love of nature.

(Emile, I just went back to read the contest description and noticed that I did not follow your submission rules of using a new poem written after July 1, 2021. I missed that and used one written in March 2021. I am sure the other winners will notice that and be upset. I will understand if you need to adjust your winners' list and hope that you somehow can. I cannot believe that I missed that rule. I am sorry for this problem, but I thought I should bring it up in case you receive Soupmails about it. Sorry, Sandra )

In reference to my latest contest, it was brought to my attention by Sandra that the poem she submitted was not in line with the date requirements as set out in contest, I apologize that I did not catch that error, I should have... but I don’t know how I can correct this, if anyone knows, please let me know. In the meantime, I will be offering the first place prize to the winner, Constance La France.

I have now managed to change the results, to the correct winners, and they are listed on the site, thanks, Emile.
