I was born in a small city, (Bathurst) New Brunswick, Canada, the third eldest of thirteen children, ten girls and three boys. I’m the product of a semi-dysfunctional family, brought up by a physically controlling father, versus a loving nurturing mother. Many of my poems reflect the uniqueness and special circumstances of my upbringing and love of nature.

Abracadabra Rhyme

Abracadabra Rhyme
Created by William Kekaula.The syllable count is your choice but must be the same for all eleven lines. abRacadabRa is the rhyme scheme, and the lines with the R's are reversed lines. All lines must rhyme with the exception of lines 'c' and 'd'.

I want to point out what most entries are missing: in an Abracadabra Rhyme, all lines must rhyme, with the exception of lines 'c' and 'd'.

That means that the "R" (reverse lines) must also rhyme... check my examples to see what I mean.

I had made a mistake before posting mine. I can only hope it is correct now. It is a really interesting form. And to think I had not even realized that it's name Abracadabra was actually the rhyme pattern itself. What a marvelous form William created.
