This was one of the most difficult contests I've ever judged; the standard was extremely high. We have a lot of talented prose writers on the site! Consequently, there are a lot of multiple placements. Sixteen winning poems, and there were several more that I really liked, but they were off on syllable count, and I was very specific about wanting a 5-7-5 count. So if you thought you wrote a good poem, but it's not on the winners' list, that is the most likely reason. Many thanks to all who participated, and congratulations to my sixteen winners!
I will be posting a new contest - Open Poetry - and this will be my last contest for a while. I intended just doing a one-off contest back in the summer, but it morphed into a string of them! I've discovered some really talented new writers along the way, and to be able to call attention to the excellent work they are doing has been a joy.
