The overall standard in this contest was rather disappointing with only thirteen poems going through to the second round, and from there just ten made it onto the winners' list. Those ten poems were the strongest, most effective writes. I understand that many poets do find it difficult to write on controversial or erotic subjects. It is quite a specialist field within poetry, and only a few poets have a natural aptitude for it. I received many entries that had nothing to do with controversial subjects or erotica! But thank you anyway to all those who participated, and congratulations to my ten winners!
